Lovely spot on the North Fork wine trail. A huge covered patio faces the vineyards, providing a perfect spot for sipping cone rain or shine. A large selection of reds and whites are available to suit any palate, and the friendly staff helps assure you enjoy your visit. There are snacks(cheeses and such) for purchase too, as well as a terrific selection of wine accessories for your home. We particularly liked the rose, off dry and crisp. Stop in and visit!

My favorite winery on Long Island. They have a fantastic cabernet franc that is so dry and me buying a bottle shows you how good it is, as I never purchase wine above $ 15. They have a huge outside seating area. If you forget to buy some cheese or crackers, they have a small shop that also includes cute wine accessories, especially their humorous towels.

This is by far the best vineyard in LI and is a strong contender for Napa or Sonoma. Love Dos Aguos and the Reserve. All of their wines are really special and so is the crew at the tasting room. The owner is a sweetheart, of course because she is from Queens. We love coming here and even plan days around stoping by, even though it’s over 60 miles away. Beautiful place, serene and quaint. Not for kids, but you can bring your friendly dogs that do not bark or bite.

A vineyard that still represents all that a vineyard should! A stop at Macari is always on my wine tasting journey; they are truly what you want when out east, they are laid back, very knowledgable, and produce great wine, well they make as good of a wine as a Long Island winery can make. When it comes to real great wine, Long Island just can’t compete but Macari puts a great foot forward with a couple of my favorites being their Sette7 blend, and their Winter white, a Chardonnay which isn’t usually my style. I drink reds mainly, Malbecs specifically, but luckily my mate works at a wine bar so I get to try a broader range from time to time, she’s more of the guru than I ever was but I’ll still stick to my guns recommending Macari. Unlike some other vineyards, Macari can tell you with ease what type of barrel their wines are aged in, why they are, how long, and what flavors are a direct result of said aging. They can even tell you about the conditions for growing during the vintage year of the bottle you will be tasting, and how it correlates to the depth of your experience. You don’t get that kind of service at that entamens owned Martha Clara anymore, that’s for sure. They have a great deck off to the side and on a nice spring day, leaves little to be desired. Always a great, relaxing time.

We visited Macari on a weekend in February. The staff was very nice and the wine was delicious. When we got there it was a little bit crowded but people moved over so we had a place to stand at the bar to do the tasting. They offer a variety of food you can purchase in a cooler such as cheese and crackers. We are excited to come back when the weather gets a bit warmer.

I of course love this place in the summer when you can sit outside, but I bet most vineyards would be that way. It was crowded at the bar so we opted for a bottle and they provided us some insight before we chose. WE then sat in their dining area(long tables and some short tables– great for groups) and drank with some cheese and crackers. There is no music on Sundays which I wish there was something playing besides babies crying(from the shower in their private room) and people talking about their dogs. I will be back in the summer again to sit outside because the views are incredible.

Great views to enjoy delicious wines! The architecture of the tasting room is worth checking out in itself. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a nice, small vineyard that offers reds and whites by the glass or flights for sampling. The house itself is fairly large, with a private party room, long bar, and about 50 outdoor seats. There is a nice section if the vineyard open to walk through or set up a picnic. Within the house, snacks(chips, crackers, cheeses, cured meats, and chocolates) are available for purchase; however, it’s much cheaper to bring your own. Moreover, the wine bottles are also very expensive. The Malbec is fairly spicy and I found that I liked the Merlot better; which is opposite of my usual.

It was our first stop from the wine tour, and I was so so glad it was! The vineyard estate is perfect, a very nice porch with outside seating as well as tables and chairs by the grass right next to the vines. My boyfriend and I tried 2 different kinds of tastings: The Cuvve and the Vintage Flight. Both of them were great! We walked out with a bottle of each of the Dos Aguas, the white and red blend. I really enjoyed their Cabernet Franc as well. Didn’t try any of their food so I can’t really speak of that, but who comes to a vineyard for food anyway? All of their installations were very detailed and the views were stunning. My favorite of the Long Island vineyards, definitely do not miss it!

Great customer service! Not the best of all the winery’s on the wine trail but definitely a must see… one of the hostess is a former teacher very knowledgeable about the selection of wine AND holds a great conversation… Another gentleman(Italian)was happy to service us and both took turns catching where the other left off… Awesome teamwork guys!

I recently came with with my boyfriend for some wine tasting and it was a great experience. We tried our first two inside at the bar — the staff were very friendly and gave us a great description of each wine. We took the rest of our flights outside to the outdoor seating area, which was very quiet and peaceful. The grounds are beautiful as well. Very nice to walk around and take some pictures. The wine selection was pretty good, we ended up buying a bottle before leaving — great experience, recommend this as a stop for any wine tasting trip.

I’ve been here twice and both times did not disappoint. The views are simply stunning and the wines are lovely. This is the place that introduced me to Ice wine aka dessert wine and Y’ALL I’M OBSESSED. Apparently you’re not supposed to drink the whole bottle in one sitting… The flights are well priced and they even had a promotional deal –if you posted on IG, FB or Twitter, you received a free 2 oz tasting. Hey, hey… for a lightweight like me, I was feelin’ pretty good after. ;)

This Vinyard had excellent wine. It was recommended to us by a server from another winery. We do not regret coming here at all. All the wines are good. I love the Chardonnay and anyone who knows me knows I’m not a Chardonnay girl but I loved this one. We each had a glass of wine and sat out at the tables in the grass next to the vines in the sunshine and studied wine magazines and culinary magazines. It was lovely. If you’re out this way, GO!

Nice ambiance and plenty of seating. Good prices, you can pick up a bottle for around $ 15 and have a nice view on the patio. Missed a five star rating because it didn’t feel personable and was almost like a wine shop that happened to be next to a vineyard.

I’ve been to both locations(they’re about 3 miles apart) and had a great time each time. Looks like Macari is one of the more popular and famous of the many vineyards in Long island. Awesome place to just have a picnic and relax. Although you’re not suppose to bring outside food, I see lots of people with coolers and their own foods in addition to buying wine at the vineyard. The tastings are a nice way to try out some flights, but it’s a much better deal to buy a bottle and share with friends. My fave is the Sette! They also sell cheese, charcuterie and crackers to go with the wines.

Had the staff we encountered been a bit less«stiff» I might have considered giving this place another star. I came here on the suggestion of a friend and was unfortunately disappointed. We did two flights — and they were overall decent. We ended up buying three bottles of wine, but the overall feel of the place was stuffy, stiff, and overall uncomfortable. I’d recommend going to Roanoke instead. Way better!

This vineyard is off the main wine trail and it was still packed when we went. The wines are amazing, we bought a Rose and one of their famous white wines. The tasting area on Sunday was jam packed with customers. We found an opening and didn’t want a full tasting, just a sample of the Rose. Very helpful staff manning the bar said no problem. They also see nice wine items like glasses, cheese boards and trays. Its a very welcoming spot to wine taste and relax. We were here on Sunday but didn’t see any live music. :( If you want to see a beautiful, family owned vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island, Macari Vineyards and their exceptional wines are as good as it gets.
