The Charcoal Pit Restaurant & Motel

This place is awesome!
After many, many hours of driving, we stayed here at the Charcoal Pit Motel. We got here late and the owner was way kind about letting us in, giving us a very newly redecorated room and just being a doll! He told us about the restaurant right next door called The Charcoal Pit Restaurant. Said we’d get a free breakfast for staying the night. Free is a price i dig!
The room was small, the bed comfy, the cable worked, the A/​C worked, the shower worked. ah. it was heaven! Road tripping can be hard on your body, especially if you car camp. So when i find a gem in the middle of nowhere like this, I’m happy. We got up, took some pictures and strolled over to the restaurant. They have a wide selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Think All-​American, with a Mexican twist and a pinch of Greek. Really there is something on that menu for everyone. The coffee was yummy too.
I had two eggs, over medium, two slices of toast, country potatoes and coffee for $ 3, i think. oh yeah and the prices rock! Most especially since they don’t give you rinky-​dinky sizes either. I know we were supposed to get the breakfast free but, i didn’t mention it. It was yummy and i would have left the actual amount as a tip, even if i had gotten it free.
If i’m ever in Mayer… I’ll be at The Charcoal Pit!
