If I could give it negative stars, I would!!! Me and my bestie were in the area to go to one of our FAVORITE restaurants, La Casita Mexicana but unfortunately for us it was closed and we were starving so we we settled. HUGEMISTAKE!!! It looked nice and clean but we were in for an EXPERIENCE. The waittress… where do I start. There was literally only me, my bestie and one other guy in the whole place during lunch time(should’ve been a red flag) so why did it take forever to get a refill? I will tell you why because se was too busy gossiping with the other waitress!!! She asked t he guy next to us if he needed anything and didn’t ask us. Then when we were leaving I was in such a hurry to get out over there, I left my credit card. So instead of being like excuse me u left your card, the waittress tapped the rail to get our attention and then waved my card at us. I did happen to know this when we were leaving that they were looking for a waitress I hope it was to replace our waitress!!! Next was the food. I had ordered the temple of us and my bestie had order the chili verde. The refried beans taste like Rosarita refried can beans. When I got my plate I began to eat and there was an aroma that wouldn’t escape me and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until halfway through my meal. The aroma was that of beef that has been sitting out for Days in its own blood! After that, I was DONE. Anyone that knows me knows I NEVER leave food, I will take it home this did not happen. This was a VERYBADEXPERIENCE that was about to get worse. Both myself and my bestie got diarrhea and still have it a day later!!! So the lesson here is ALWAYSCHECK UnilocalBEFOREEATINGSOMEWHEREFORTHE1STTIME!!!

Food is so overpriced for what you get. I ordered a salmon plate because on the picture it showed a nice salmon slice but what i got was a piece long like my two thumbs put together, my father ordered a 7 mares and didnt even get fish or clams but some scronny looking crab legs with some little shrimps about the size of a nail, other than that the brooskys are good approved by my mom and pops.

I’ve never been inspired to write a Unilocal review until now… Came for a birthday at about 4 on a Sunday. Relatively empty at the time. My party did receive plenty warm smiles with an initial promise of good service, which is what I’ve come to expect from small establishments like this. Much of that promise was left at the door though. Service slowly declined; the waitresses seemed good natured but overwhelmed, much like a kid trying to ice skate for the first time. The food… Well, let’s just say a lot of cans were used in the making of their food. I had the nachos with a light sprinkle of carne asada; somewhere in there I believe was a thin spread of beans. Very comparable to Del Taco. I guess the décor was nice. The highlight of the meal was the small, jovial band of mariachis who could’ve lent some of their mojo to the staff and food.

Good service, the chips were a bit stale and their salsa needs some work. The tostada de ceviche de Cameron tasted like it was bought at mariscos Bahia where they sell it by the pound. Margaritas were decently priced

Should’ve just gone to King Taco! I don’t care for this place. Went yesterday(Saturday July 4th) with my gf who is Mexican and wanted to check this place out. I had the caldo de pescado and she had chicken enchiladas with red sauce. I enjoyed my soup but she tasted it and didn’t like it. She didn’t like her enchis either. I took a bite and I agree. Their red sauce is AWFUL! She also said her food smelled like feet. I think that was because of the cotija cheese. They also had karaōke that evening. I enjoy karaōke, but the guy sang like 6 songs in a row and he was practically screaming into the microphone so it was not enjoyable to listen to. Overall the food is also over priced. The enchi plate was like $ 15 and shouldn’t have been more than $ 10. Same for the caldo de pescado. We won’t be returning.

I came here a while ago and I didn’t like it. I came on a Sunday which had live entertainment. I didn’t really care for it. It was a man with a charro suit and a karaōke machine. Food was mediocre and it was expensive. I should of gone to king taco. Overall, I’m sure it’s a cool place on a Friday night for drinks but not for food.

Had the cocido caldo de res. Bomb! Great looking waitresses. Big TV’s. Beers were cold. Service was great. I came in on karaōke night. Music was a lil too loud.

As soon as I walked in I fell in love with their colorful chairs. So, so cute! The restaurant definitely has a very Mexican feel to it. It has plenty of seating space and it’s kept very clean. I don’t have any complaints about the waitress since she was very friendly and somewhat attentive. Their food is good. I’ve had their chicken enchiladas suizas, with rice and refried beans. The plate was very tasty, I just wished they would add a little more of the green salsa on the enchiladas since they were a bit dry. Other than that, everything else was good. Their salsa and chips were delicious too. In the evenings(not sure on the days) they have a guy dressed as a «charro» who sings karaōke. He takes donations and sings quite well. He’s pretty funny too. One thing I really didn’t like was that he stands by your table and starts singing to you… I’m was there like«I’m trying to eat my food yo!». I understand that he tries to get the crown involved but I think he should give people some time to eat before he starts standing at their table. Anyhow, other than that, everything else was good.

Okay they get one star for being clean and actually a very nicely maintained classic mexican restaurant murals and all. Staff was really friendly for the second star. Food was absolutely bland. Beans and rice had no real flavor and not well seasoned. Food just uninspired. This place need to change recipes and it should be a winner!

Great food, a friendly owner and lovely Senoritas which waitress there make this place an awesome hang out. Rarely too crowded, the drinks are good, the food is tasty, the parking is plentiful and when they don’t have a Mariachi they have a Karaōke! Best of all it’s walking distance from my home. Quench your thirst my friends!

Food was bad… Rice and beans were reheated by microwave… The chicken fajitas were dry… Service was bad… They charged me for a $ 30 dish I did not order and when I asked to correct it they pretend they didn’t know where my original server was… Will never go again and definitely not recommend this location… I took my family to try out and support local business but never again

I ordered a shrimp dish that had«tequila» but I just got shrimp that were in oil and I was left wondering, «where’s the tequila flavor»…Disgusting! The bf had chiles rellenos and they had no flavor. $ 35 down the drain.. .

Probably the worst seafood we have ever had! The camarones aguachile didn’t taste fresh… The tostadas de ceviche(camarones) are made with frozen baby shrimp, the cheap stuff, for a ridiculous $ 5.95 each! We asked the waitress what kind of shrimp they used for the tostadas and she told us what we thought… Bagged baby frozen shrimp. The sauce used for the camarones a la diabla tasted like the Pato sauce used on enchiladas. We RARELY post anything on Unilocal unless its really good or really bad… This is bad. Save money and find another place.

I think this place was just remodeled a few months ago. My husband and I were on our way to another restaurant and at the last minute decided to stop at La Tequila as we were about to drive past it. The inside was very clean — and it has an «A» in the window. It was nicely decorated and has a lovely painting of a Mexican pueblo and agave farm on one of the walls. There was also a very good soloist mariachi singing some of the hits by Vicente Fernandez, Pepe Aguilar, etc. There was only one waitress working but after we seated ourselves she was good about bringing over menus and taking our order quickly. However, the food did take a little bit longer than expected. I’m guessing it was an unusual crowd for a Monday night because of the Memorial Day weekend and they were probably short staffed in the kitchen too. Overall the food was good. They started us off with chips and salsa. The chips were still warm when they came out, and very good. The Mojarra Frita was delicious, and the salsa on the Huachinango A La Diabla satisfied even my husband who is a salsa-snob(I mean connoisseur). The beans were good, but the rice was bland. We’ll definitely give this place another visit — probably for breakfast because their selection of chilaquiles looked awesome! Oh, also… this place has a couple flat screen TVs. One had on the NBA playoffs and the other was showing telenovelas. So it looks like they aim-to-please.
