This is actually El Primo Carniceria/Taqueria. Reminds me of a shop you may find in Rosarito. I ended up getting some Carne asada to grill because I’m looking for a good spot for that. The meat was tender but the marinade was okay. They also sell tacos and other things so I will need to go back and check them out for that too.

This place is seriously amazing! If you want truly authentic Mexican food this is the place to eat. Everything I’ve tried is delicious. They have even expanded their menu recently to add seafood, which made me excited. It is inexpensive too. The staff is made up humble women that always do their best to serve their customers. My fiancée and I come here often and when I told them that she is trying to learn more Spanish they started practicing with her and made her comfortable to speak it without judgement. Honestly, you should try this place out. You won’t regret it.

This little dive is absolutely humble in appearance, yet the food is outstanding and authentic. Excellent tacos and perfect flautas. The menudo is perfectly seasoned and not too greasy. El Primo is the only place I know that pickles it’s own jalapeños with thick sliced crunchy carrots that are without parallel. Rice and beans are completely authentic as well. If you like Tex-Mex, go elsewhere but if you like true Mexican, you will be hard pressed to find a better place.
