I like the atmosphere. I like the beer. There’s food on the menu that I want to try. All that being said three stars for the service. The last three times I’ve been there, they’ve messed up my check twice when I payed with credit card. I switched to cash last time but that took forever to get the check. I’ll be back but something that needs improvement is the service. A mistake now and then is alright but I feel like this is happening every time I go there. Also service needs to get a lot faster.

Holy cannoli I love this place! I seriously am so happy a place like this exists in the RGV! My fiancé and I are both from Detroit originally and are(of course) avid beer lovers. We decided to check out Grain to Glass after a few disappointing experiences at other bars with a serious lack of good beer. Grain to Glass has so many excellent options in bottle and draft form. The set up of the place is great too. Very small, but cute with a great vibe. I love that they list all of their draft options on big TV screens in a couple of places around the bar. We ended up each trying a couple of different beers, I was so surprised(in a good way) that they had Old Rasputin on tap. With our beers we ended up ordering some mac and cheese bites too. Very tasty, but a tad overpriced in my opinion. We both had a great time here and loved all of the beer options. We’ll definitely be back!

A nice addition to the growing craft beer scene in El Valle! Popped in to check it out upon a recommendation of someone I’m in a craft beer group with on the book of face. Since it was just me, I moseyed on up to the small bar, I think there were, maybe six stools. The draught beer selection is on screens above the bar and it shows the style, ABV%, where it’s from, if it’s available in a growler, and, of course, prices. Not a lot of Austin selections, sadly, but there were quite a few Texas brews. Along with a variety of tasty choices from other states. I noticed that certain beers were highlighted in green, turns out that those are the recent additions. Impressive bottle list, too, but I stuck with an El Chingón(IPA, by Four Corners Brewing) off the tap wall. I was allowed to sample before I ordered, as well. It was pretty tasty. Service was decent, the bartender was nice. I didn’t order any food, but I look forward to doing so on my next visit.

Visiting from Houston there are places with 200+ beers and I know there isn’t much selection down here so I didn’t know what to expect. They have 32 beers on tap and the selection they had was surprisingly good! It’s nice to see they had St Arnold’s DR15 and a couple from Karbach including Krunkin Pumpkin on Cask. The food is good as well. Overall a nice craft beer place I will likely come back to next time I’m down here.

I really liked this place! I came on Friday night. It’s a super chill, low key, environment. Their menu is really extensive, so there’s plenty of choices. I’m not really into beer, so I tried their Ace Pineapple Cider(on tap) instead and absolutely loved it. The waitress allowed us to sample the drinks, in tiny portions, before committing to a full-sized glass. I also shared some pulled pork nachos with a friend. The portions were very generous and filling. Oh, and service was amazing. I hadn’t had such an attentive and helpful waitress in a really long time. I’d totally recommend it.

Grain to Glass is McAllen’s newest craft brew pub spot. What separates Grain To Glass from similar ale houses in town is the rotation of offerings they serve. They also display their ever-changing menu on digital boards with easy to read profiles of the different suds they have on tap. Insider Tip: Ask about their special tap(not on the menu) and you’ll sound like a true craft beer enthusiast.

Great beer list, excellent food, and Tuesday trivia night! I had a great time here with some coworkers even though the beer did not, in fact, bring the IQ increase that we expected(the confidence level, however, was off the charts). I also enjoyed the sarcastic host and his ability to zing the audience when necessary. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which featured juicy, delicious pork that didn’t need very much bbq sauce at all! I even asked for a side from one of the other dishes that wouldn’t have normally jived with the pulled pork bbq, but they accommodated and didn’t give me a hard time for my questionable taste.

I’ve tried almost all the plates. Everything is always good. 32 beers on tap and probably 50 – 60 bottled selections. Rotating selection so there is always something new on tap.

Great find. Tried for the first time last night. Had 2 pints Texian Summer Sandia and Porky Nachos. The nachos were piled with tender pulled pork that was lightly coated in bbq sauce. The Summer Sandia started off with a hint of watermelon and finished like a crisp Pilsner. I sat at a picnic bench with several other patrons and made new friends. Great variety of craft beers including over half a dozen Texas beers. Service was prompt and cheerful. I’ll be back!

So what do you know the Valley is starting to get crafty. On my most recent stay in Mcallen I found two Craft Beer joints both of which serve food. Yes the other one was good, and for me a better location, BUT Grain to glass edges out the competition mostly on newness and maybe housekeeping, however not by much since I went back to Roosevelt’s on 7th twice during my trip. As a business traveler I am staying in the Hotel business district along the highway so the location kinda off sucked being so far North and for a guy that likes beer with 10% abv I have to be mindful. That said, Everything was on point. Food — Great Beer Selection and presentation– Great Housekeeping and atmosphere — Great Pricing — Good TIP — and if you ask for a Sticker, they have more than one to choose from. Great Job and Best of Luck, will be back to visit soon.

Great atmosphere and awesome craft beer selection. Nice menu of food to choose from but never got to try any food because our waiter hardly acknowledged us. Had to actually flag down a waiter to get some type of service. I will be visiting Grain to Glass again for drinks and food, just hope the service is better next time.

Place was ok, Service was ok, Food was ok. Did I feel safe in the establishment? No! A argument broke out between two individuals and it escalated to a level where a fight was about to happen. Then one of the individuals, who felt threaten, took a steak knife to defend himself. Management or Security took WAY too long to respond to the incident.

I visited this spot the day before their actual opening. They have 30+ Taps, and 2 Beer Engines for Cask Beer. I tried their Sweet & Spicy Chicharones and they were fantastic. If you’re a Beer Lover you’ve got to check this spot out. A lot of people were raving about the Fried Mac and Cheese Balls, I need to try them. As far as I know this is this is the first spot in McAllen to offer Growler Service, but I did NOT see any Growlers for sale. Bring your own just to be on the safe side. If you see me bellied up at the bar, be sure to buy me a beer!
