McAllen’s Cigar Bar

This place is horrible. not only are the bartenders novices but the manager has no control over the bar. They let drunk customers take over the bar and yell obscenities towards other customers. Manager Val has no care until his staff is questioned, that is until he decides to attack the customer.

Place has totally changed, for the better! Excellent drink prices have stayed the same! Place is bigger & doesn’t reek of cigarette. Food is now served & is actually pretty tasty. Jukebox has a great selection of music. Yummy shot selection. One of my favorite hangouts!

I showed up with 2 of my friends because I had heard good things about it. As soon as we walked in and made our way to a table, the guy behind the bar yelled at us to have our ID’s ready when he came to our table. We’re all 21. A friend had her ID recently pickpocketed while away in Argentina so she had a paper ID from the DMV. The guy came from behind the bar to wait on us (from John D’s review and an air of arrogance, I assume the manager) called us «young motherfuckers» after approaching us with virile hostility. He asked my friend what she was doing in Argentina and gave me shit about asking what the house specialty was.
When I asked him if he was drunk, because he had to have been SOME sort of fucked up to treat anyone with that kind of attitude, he replied «I’m just tired.» It was 4pm. Long night ahead of you, buddy. I wasn’t quite ready to order, so I got another serving of attitude instead and decided to just leave because I had never been treated that way. On the way out some old creepy dudes slurred some drunk insult to my friend and I walked out with my middle finger held high.
Seedy employees will attract a seedy crowd. I hear it’s cheap, but I didn’t even get a chance to look at the menu because I was being harassed by a sorry bitter middle-​aged waiter/​bartender/​manager. He looked as cheap as I assume the drinks are. Your money is good somewhere else. I wouldn’t waste it here supporting a low-​life.

I love the place, the beer is cheap and you always have a good time there

I love you cigar bar. youre cheap and you dont try to disillusion anybody. youre not class. youre down to earth and a little rough around the edges. my only wish is that the jukebox wasnt so loud – its hard to have a conversation with the person sitting right next to you.

Bar. Yes, this is a bar, plain and simple. Bring your own food. All in all, awesome place. Good, cheap beer. Cigars you can smoke right then and there. Helpful and friendly staff.
Yet, there was something sad about this place. The women were not beautiful; the men looked tired. The TV played cable movies at too high of a volume.
I guess this place could change depending on the crowd. Come with friends. :)

Cheap drinks EVERYDAY! Enough said. Lots of variety and great prices.

Awesome beer selection. Staff seems to be hit or miss with service. Had one bartender who was on the ball at replacing my empty beer. Most of the staff seemed unhappy to be working and stood around talking to each other. Good crowd on a Thursday night. Not much of a cigar selection for a place calling themself a cigar bar. Really can’t beat a $ 2 beer all day price though.

Cold beers

The best bar in town 37 beers at $ 2 a pop and 61 shots ranging from $ 3 to $ 5. Come out and have a GRATE NIGHT with one of the best bar staff in the RGV.

CIGAR BAR IS THE BOMB!
They are known for their fabulous drink specials: any beer, domestic or import, is $ 2, shots are either $ 3, $ 4, or $ 5 and martini’s are only $ 6!
It’s a great way to meet someone without putting a big hole in your wallet.
Oh and of course a large selection of cigars!
This is definetely my go-​to-​bar after a long work week. :)

This spot has all beers for $ 2! Import or Domestic draft or bottle. Get out there ASAP!
