Ostioneria Michoacan

This place will be a new go-​to for us. This is truly fresh seafood done very well. There are lots of Mexican style dishes to choose from, and basic fried plates, too. I had the grilled fish filet with three grilled shrimp, rice and salad. I agree with other reviewers; the portions are generous. I had a michelada as well which was also perfectly done. A must-​try.

The food is great tasting and service is fast and friendly. Large selection of dishes ranging from Mexican, American and especially Sea food. Plus alcohol beverages to match.

Had shrimp and fish platter for lunch. Generous portions everyone enjoyed a variety from the menu. This is a definate return visit. Pleasant surprise I would rate this a 10 out of 10

I love this place. So has anyone we’ve ever taken there. Great, fresh seafood. Wait staff can be rather slow, but they’re all nice, friendly and accommodating. If it’s crowded, it can be very noisy (concrete floors). The best crema de mariscos!

This place was soooo good. The lunch specials are more than what you would expect. The plate was huge. Service was fast and food came out quickly. I got the #1 lunch special, 2-​fish, 6 shrimps, rice and fries. I went during my lunch and had not trouble being served quickly.

I love this place. me and the hubby frequent here regularly during lunch.
They have great lunch specials and their wait staff is pretty good too.

My tocayo and business associate took us here a couple weeks ago and my wife and I now go regularly. What can I say, it is very good seafood and definitely a good value.
The atmosphere was pleasant, the restaurant clean and the staff attentive. The food was well prepared and the seafood was delicious with, no hint of bad storage that plagues most seafood restaurants this far inland.
Great place to take your famly or just a date night, like we do.

There are a number of locations in Houston. I think I counted 9 on the menu cover. However, the location in McAllen beats out the shifty h-​town hoods you find these seafood boxes positioned in. What first attracted us was the weekday happy hour until 9PM. When we saw they had dozen Oyster trays for 5 clams, it was a done deal. Service was great. We were waiting on one more and people kept stopping by asking if we were ready. Had a beer and a michelada while waiting. The Modelo was standard quality, and the michelada was nothing out of the ordinary types, but no complaints. When our guest arrived we ordered up the oysters. Got 2 dozen to start, which quickly turned into another 2 dozen. Total damage… $ 20?! Not quite. At this time we didn’t know that $ 5 oysters were only until 7PM. That’s one thing to keep in mind if you go. You gotta watch the time if you’re going in for some oysters on the cheap. We had no problems with the price change. Everything was great and the service was excellent. Will for sure consider this place again when going for some shells.
