McHenry Riverwalk

Thank goodness for anything that helps to beautify the Fox River. If you’ve lived in McHenry for a while, you probably know the reputation of this river as half gasoline, half pee. You shouldn’t swim in it, and you won’t enjoy looking at it.
This path is beautiful, and they’ve done so much to improve the river in the areas where they’ve built the riverwalk. It’s an amazing place to run or walk. I bring all of my out of town guests here; I’m pretty proud of this part of McHenry.
There are plenty of benches along the way to rest or eat a snack. It’s very sweet that it passes right by the retirement home; you’ll always see the residents enjoying the sun by themselves or with a guest. It has such a great atmosphere.
I’m excited to see what it looks like when it’s completely finished!
