My first Unilocal review… for starters, the ten minute wait was more like four minutes. The atmosphere has never disappointed over the four our five times I’ve been here. Sean was a very good server. friendly, polite and attentive. I loved the 18¢ soup and I’m not a huge bean fan. The food came out very quickly despite a full restaurant. I had the Killakenny and the wife had the fish and chips. Both meals were absolutely delicious! The ingredients were fresh and it showed! I had to add a sugar packet to the Rockstar Root Beer so the wife could drink it! Haha… I would definitely suggest this restaurant!

Had a great lunch of corned beef and cabbage here today. My husband had the Shepherds Pie with Mac and cheese instead of the usual potatoes. Should have had the potatoes. Mostly Mac and cheese and very little Shepard’s Pie Still and all we enjoyed our lunch along with the 18 cent Irish Parliament cup of bean soup. We will return. My husband wants to try the different bread puddings

Place is very busy and for good reason. The service is quick and courteous. We sat on the patio which doesn’t overlook anything but the parking lot however offers a nice breeze and waitress and busser were on point. Have the fish & chips and Bangers & Mash! Also the Ale cheddar crock as appetizer! The selection of breads is a great starter. Portions are generous for a fair price.

Meg O’ Malley’s has delicious food and a good selection of beer. I have tried the Shepherd’s Pie and Potato Balls. The Shepherd’s Pie is rich with flavor. The beef is tender and mixed with spices, gravy, and veggies and topped with creamy mashed potatoes and melted cheddar cheese. The potato balls are soft and on the inside and mixed with a little bit of cheddar cheese and corned beef. The outside is coated with a perfectly fried breading that adds a nice crunchiness to the dish. The beer selection includes the typical Irish pub selections and a few bottled craft beers.

What can I say. We love Meg’s! Great food at a fair price. Full bar & overall very fun environment. It’s no wonder there’s always a wait, but it’s well worth it.

I had the best pot roast I’ve ever tasted in mah life, the Shepard’s pie was exquisite, and the soup of the day was mushroom cream soup which was delicious and the service was wonderful and friendly making me feel like family. Would highly recommend to all my friends and family, and all my coworkers.

Loud pub atmosphere. Great for large-ish gatherings. I am gluten free and I was pleasantly surprised by the options I had(unlike the usual salad) the Rosemary Salmon with red potatoes and an extra side of garlic butter mushrooms. If you’ve recently burned a lot of calories and want to even out your caloric karma the Beef Guinness Pie with mac ‘n cheese instead of crust(you can have it with crust as well) is awesome. Drinks… yep the Gin Basil Lemonade is definitely worth having seconds.

Great menu with a lot of authentic food. The food is delicious. I had bangers and mash and my girl had fish and chips. The appetizer was great! Goat cheese spread on various breads. It also had a nice atmosphere of an Irish American pub. Lots of vintage décor in the over head. Our waitress was nice for the most part but got a bit impatient when the other couple we were waiting for didn’t show up promptly. All in all a good experience. Lunch for 4 with one alcoholic drink each was about $ 90.

Once a number of my friends learned that I was visiting Melbourne, they used their knowledge of my love of Irish pubs and Meg O’Malley’s was the only suggestion that I received. I knew I couldn’t leave from my first trip here without stopping by for a bite. After walking about to check out the shops throughout the historic district, I did just that. The menus are printed like old tyme newspapers and have a variety of both Irish and American staples in which to choose. I stayed towards the authentic Irish side, obviously. Given that I had a 3 hour drive ahead of me, I didn’t partake in alcohol, but I did look at the menu. There wasn’t much that really caught my eye, as I’m much more of a craft beer drinker than commercial. I wouldn’t have been sure what I would have chosen to go with my meal. Luckily, at least this time, I didn’t have to make that choice. I started off my meal with a cup of the 18 cent Parliament Bean Soup. And yes, it only costs .18 cents! It was pretty tasty if I do say so myself, and if I didn’t have a full meal coming, I may have asked for another cup. This soup will definitely be something that I partake in on a return trips. For my main course, I had to do the true Irish staples of corned beef and cabbage with colcannon. It’s been really hard for me to find some good, authentic colcannon and Meg O’Malley’s is fantastic. The corned beef and cabbage was really good, too. I’ve been to quite a few Irish pubs in and around Florida, and every place seems to make their corned beef differently. Same kind of cook, but different flavors and spices. Meg’s is traditional, but still seems to bring its own way to the table. I didn’t partake in dessert due to needing to get on the road, but I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Meg O’Malley’s. They’ve got TVs all around to watch sports or whatever someone may want to watch while at the bar. I took part in some wifi and reading, while I was there, to plan my alternate route back home(up Route 1 a bit before getting on 95). I’ll definitely be returning whenever I end up visiting Melbourne, especially to take part in that splendid sounding brunch.

I’ve eaten at Meg O’Malley’s many, many, times over the years. This is one of the most consistently excellent restaurants around. Not just from visit to visit, but from item to item across the menu. Most recently I had a half rack of the ribs and chips(this has been my go-to here). A huge and delicious portions. Texture of the ribs was very good and was the ‘right’ amount of fall-off-the-bone. The BBQ sauce is delicious and I smothered my ribs with extra. Fries has a crispy exterior and a soft interior. Tasty, and well-suited for smothering in the sauce. I had started with the $ 0.18 parliament bean soup(which does indeed only cost 18 cents, and which is pretty great). I also tried a bite of the shepherd’s pie ordered by someone else at the table(very good). And a bite of someone’s mac and cheese(rich and ultra creamy).

Ive been here loads of times and cant believe I have never reviewed this favorite spot. I especially enjoy the full breakfast you can get here on weekend mornings. Thick bacon and puddings. Delicious. Tonight it was the 18 cent parliment bean soup, corned beef & cabbage, and bread pudding to finish All were very tasty. I especially appreciate them having HP sauce and real malt vinegar at the table. Fish just aint right without malt vinegar and bangers without HP sauce is like an army with no cannons. This is a must try in Melbourne.

In addition to some great Irish beers and cocktails, the menu is full of great Irish pub fare. Starers include items like lamb sliders, corned beef sliders, potato balls and a cheese & ale crock. Mains range from traditional pub sandwiches like the Kilkenny and a Dubliner chicken sandwich to a variety of burgers. Of course there is your standard fish and chips, bangers & mash, and corned beef and cabbage as well as roasted lamb shank and pot roast. Our first starter was the Potato Balls. Made of mashed potatoes, chopped corned beef, scallions and Farmhouse cheddar rolled up, breaded and fried. Really tasty, especially with a pint of Guinness. The Cheese & Ale Crock is a must have starter. It’s a mixture of Irish ale, Farmhouse cheddar, and Dubliner cheeses served with an assortment of breads for dipping(Irish soda bread, brown bread, and garlic toast) The Kilkenny sandwich is an Irish Reuben with sliced corned beef, Swiss, cabbage, and 1000 Island dressing on grilled rye bread. This sandwich was good, and loaded with meat too. The Shepherds Pie has ground beef in a rich broth with root vegetables and sweet peas, topped with colcannon and served with buttered cabbage and brown bread. For $ 2.00 extra, you can have it topped with macaroni and cheese. It’s hard to find good Fish & Chips. It seems simple enough, but I’ve had my fair share of bad fish & chips. I was excited to find that Meg O’ Malley’s fish & chips were rather exceptional. I enjoyed the Corned Beef and Cabbage with corned beef brisket served with buttered cabbage, sweet carrots, whole grain mustard, brown bread, and choice of colcannon or boiled red bliss potatoes. For our birthday celebration, we received a free order of MOM’s Bread Pudding made from an old Irish recipe topped with whipped cream and a warm drunken raisin sauce. Meg O’ Malley’s provided exceptional service for our party of five, and everyone really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They draw a pretty good crowd most nights of the week, but if you plan on going there on the weekends, be prepared to wait. As you might imagine, Meg’s has one of the best St. Patrick’s day celebrations on the east coast. Festivities usually last all week long with a street party on the weekend.
