Sigh. Where do I begin… my bridesmaids and I bought a Groupon deal for Spa Mystyk to use the day before my wedding for mani/pedis. The place was somewhat in a shady area(and this is coming from a gal who grew up in Little Village.) When we got there(2 hours before closing time,) we informed them that we were the gals from my wedding party. My pedicure was done by the owner, who was indeed very kind, and my pedi did come out nice. My manicure, however was disastrous. I asked for french tips, and the girl who did my nails was on her cell phone for most of the time she was doing my nails. Not surprisingly, my nails looked like they had been done by someone who had one hand tied behind their back and could have possibly been blind-folded. I asked the girl to fix some very obvious blemishes, but her remedy was just to sloppily glob on some more white paint onto my nails. I just gave up, and we left extremely unsatisfied. Had this been just a regular visit(NOT for my wedding) I would have just swallowed it, but of course, this caused me much anguish the following day since I did not have the time to visit a nail salon that knew what they were doing. My bridesmaids had their manicures done by the same girl and had the same result. Not needing any more stress the night before my wedding, we just left in shock that this girl was allowed to touch peoples nails and expect compensation. One of my bridesmaids re-painted her own nails when she got home, the other just kind of dealt with it. I feel bad for the owner, but perhaps she should make sure her employees are qualified before allowing them to work with her clients. And maybe this is what I get for using a Groupon for my wedding mani, but I honestly NEVER expected what I got. On a positive note, I had a facial there and it was very relaxing. This, however, was not enough to make me ever want to return. Save your money.

I will gladly confirm all the reviews below! It took forever just to schedule a mani/pedi(including quite a few phone calls during the day when no one answered, I had to leave a message, and never got a return phone call). Good luck finding it in a strip mall amidst an industrial park and a liquor store. The only redeeming thing is that it appears new, and thus, clean. But, the quality of the mani/pedi left muuuuch to be desired. The gentleman tried to talk me out of the light pink color I picked for my nails because it would have to do two coats to make it look okay. Um, what nail place doesn’t do two coats to begin with? He rubbed baby oil allll over my arms, which wasn’t even relaxing because I was concerned about how I was going to get all of it off my arms the whole time(not to mention, how it was going to affect my nail color. Oil + nail polish = bad). There’s no sinks to wash your hands, instead you’re just given some hand sanitizer to rub in. He never even cut my cuticles!!! He rubbed some cuticle remover into my nail beds twice, and called it a day. My pedicure was done by a very nice woman, but it took quite some time for sub-par work. Not to mention, the exfoliating scrub(which I guess was the«spa» part of the service) hurt!!! She was rubbing it way to hard on the tops of my feet, and I had to bite my cheek to get through it. I know beauty is pain, but I’m not one for the pain and no resulting beauty! SKIPTHISPLACE.

My friend and I had fallen for a GROUPON offer. DONOT repeat our mistake. I’m sure after all the critique a person will be smarter. I wasn’t. I’ve never checked these reviews. Big loss. Tremendous. I will pretty much repeat what other people have mentioned: Unclean place, tools and old nail polish. Pretty much no job was done on my nails, heels or cuticles: a little scrub, a little cream, and color that had tons of air bubbles and came off by same evening. BADBADBAD

Don’t waste your time going to Spa Mystk. It’s the farthest thing from a Spa and the biggest joke in terms of a manicure and pedicure that I have ever gotten! There was not one good thing about my experience there, and thank goodness Groupon refunded my money!

So I bought a groupon deal for this place and to be honest, it’s more closely worth what the deal price was, definitely NOT a $ 65.00 value(the groupon was $ 25 for $ 65 worth of services). I bought the deal to save myself a little money and try out a new place since the nail salon I normally go to for a Mani/Pedi deal is about $ 40 and sometimes they end up cutting one of my toes. Yes the ladies were accommodating(even though I had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment), but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If I knew I was paying for a «Footsie bath» pedicure and a manicure that I could have paid my teenage cousin to do, I would have rather given her the money. I understand times are tough, but talk about false advertisement! Everything described on their website is false. BUYERBEWARE!!!

Coming from a background of family members owning nail salons, but unfortunately none could do my nails for a wedding I took a chance with this place on Groupon hoping that it’ll be worth it. Spa pedicure right? Not! Seriously you call a «footsie bath» and a black leather chair with a Dr. Scholl’s back massager straped to it a SPA pedicure? My mani and pedi took over 2 hours! Holy cow! My nails looked like a five year old had painted them. And the selections of nail polishes? I have more nail polishes at home! The nail tech used one of his own nail polishes to do my nails. I also told him I had to leave soon(since my toes took an hour! and he’s like okay, okay I’ll do them) yet in the end it took him an hour to finish. I get it he wants to talk and make friends with the customer, but it was just too much. Also have you heard of «dry fast top coat» when I got home from my 15 minute drive from the place my nails still weren’t dry so I had to use my own dry fast top coat. The owner is a very nice woman, but she has a lot to learn about the service of doing nails. I would never pay $ 65 for the service nor would I pay the $ 25 Groupon price.
