I spent $ 3,000 here from Dec. 2014 — Feb. 2015 on Dysport(it’s like Botox, only a newer formulation from a different manufacturer) and Restylene injections(it’s a filler, like Juvederm). The last injections of Dysport left me with eyelid ptosis, otherwise known as sagging eyelids. When you get injections from a trained physician, this should not happen as they are presumably well trained in facial anatomy. I had Botox and Juvederm injections in Aug. 2014 at another spa in Swampscott and they lasted 4 months. At Melrose Med Spa, I had to keep coming back because my injections keep wearing off; I was told it was because I had a high metabolism that was consuming the material. I find that hard to believe since I’ve had injections last 4 months, and these injections don’t seem to last longer than 1.5 months. The office is not very clinical or professional. The«doctor» doesn’t have any office support so she answers phone calls during your time with her. I also once overheard a conversation where she was telling one of her vendors«you know my situation here.» I am familiar with the handheld mirror(as referenced by Emily U.) and have felt pressured to buy more services than I wanted. I can’t discourage anyone strongly enough from going here — I consider myself fortunate that my sagging eyelids will resolve themselves in a couple of months. It is less expensive than most other spas(which is why I tried it) but this is definitely a case of you get what you pay for. Sub-par results that could potentially do some lasting damage. Run. Now.

I went in here for a consultation only, I was looking to discuss my skincare options because I am 28 now and really want to stay looking young for as long as I possibly can. I called, and made an appt for 20 minutes from then. When I went in, I sat and waited for a half hour longer. Finally when she got to me, we sat down and she gave me a handheld mirror. Then she began having me make expressions and smiles to show me where I could use the botox. She told me it’s never to early, her daughter started at 20. I was pretty shocked, especially because her skin wasn’t looking so great herself. But, to go in and have her point out things that only appear when I squint my face shows me how she was trying to get all the money out of me she could. Then before I left she told me if I hurry, I can get the Groupon deal! I will definitely stay clear of using this place for any of my skin care needs.
