Great location on the«back» side of Overton Square. We parked in the lot across the street(Enter on Madison) and walked just a short distance. My husband and I went here for a late lunch, and I was surprised that it wasn’t more crowded. The décor is quirky and fun. We didn’t have to stand in line to order at all, which I’m guessing is unusual. I had the La Vaca burger — they had me at guacamole. I loved it; in fact, I ate every bite. The guacamole tasted very fresh and was a little chunky. The meat was tasty, and they even did a pretty good job of making it well done, which I asked for. I’d order the La Vaca burger again — the flavor combination was as light as a hamburger can be. We both enjoyed the hand-cut fries. We’ll be back.

The burger was pretty good and full of toppings and flavor. The sourdough quickly falls apart which was a little annoying because then it ended up being bunless. Definitely make sure your burger has sauce because that makes such a difference. Next time I’ll try to make my own, even tho it seems pricier to order that way. They offer many good toppings though.

This place is pretty good but a little pricey. The atmosphere here is awesome though. They also have awesome milkshakes

The Pow burger was delicious, but it was cooked a lot less than I hoped it would be. They only cooked medium burgers, but it looked rare. They were low on ketchup that night.

Don’t give many 5 stars but this place deserves one. Atmosphere in a word — COOL. Service was first rate — we were met at the door and explained what to do. Our order was taken at the counter with no issues and food was delivered to our table in a reasonable amount of time. As to the food — Deeeelish! We shared the«The Cure» Burger — super tasty and super messy. We also got some onion rings which were cooked right on but seemed to be of the frozen variety. I also got a side salad — lots of onions and chopped tomatoes on a bed of mixed greens. It was good and the balsamic vinaigrette was light and flavorful. Overall, I’m craving another burger from this place. Excellent experience — we will be back.

Each of the last 3 times I have been here it seems that the quality has decreased significantly since our first couple of visits. One of the best things in the Square were the onion rings at Belly Acres – they were huge and fresh with a delicious batter. However, they have scraped those and chosen the run of the mill fast food frozen onion ring that I can get anywhere. They were not good. The server offered fries and I begrudgingly accepted, but they were stale tasting. The sweet potato fries were average. My partner did not finish them and he NEVER leaves food. Our burgers were just good… mine was cooked way past medium that I asked for and for 35 bucks our burgers shouldn’t be just good. I will say the straun bread was really good. But from the breakfast to the onion rings this place is becoming more of a disappointment with each visit. This was originally a 5 star review and I really want to give it two stars, but I want to give them the benefit of a doubt on just having an off night. I feel with the hot start, the popularity of the chef and the restaurant that some aspects may start to be neglected or the crowds are being taken for granted. We can definitely tell a difference from the opening few months to now in the quality of the food, the service, and attention to detail. It is unfortunate.

I have to update to reflect that this is my kid’s favorite restaurant(because of the tractor), so we come almost every week. Wednesday night, kids eat free with an adult meal purchased. I like the Acre salad with spicy ranch and the local beers on tap. I also steal a few fries off of my son’s plate. I also appreciate the friendly service! Glad they’re in the neighborhood, hope they stick around.

I had heard about Belly Acres for some time now and was excited to go with some friends for lunch. I decided to try«The Cure» burger. It was FABULOUS — all that ooey gooey Gouda and the generous amount of sautéed onions made for a delicious burger. Each bite was fantastic and melted in my mouth. Mmmmm. «Where are my fries»?? The burger was great, but for $ 11.50 to only get a burger — no fries or chips? Seriously? What gives? Sure I’ll probably go back —(heard the Shakes are great too) — but you should at least get a small order of fries or chips since the small burger is not worth $ 11.50. Sorry, it’s not. TIP — You have to order Fries if you want any — the burgers do not come with fries.

Pretty good burgers!!! I got La Vaca and it was good. My main qualm however is the price. $ 10 for a pretty good burger seems pretty steep to me. Personally, I’d rather hit up the Slider Inn down the street. I also wasn’t super wild about the wheat bun. It seemed extra thick and dense. The sweet potato fries were pretty good as well. They were seasoned in a way that almost made them sweet, so that was interesting. To be honest, I’ll probably go back to I can try at least one more thing before setting my final verdict. Also, I’m interested in «The Early Riser». It’s got waffles for buns!

On the search for the best burger in Memphis! Belly acres is in a lively location and has interesting décor. But I would sit anywhere as long as the burger is delicious. The menu choices are novel, they have a variety of different cuisine influences and there is something for everyone. The meat quality is good. Not great. Good. On to the next one…

After the long awaited visit, we finally found a perfect time to get by Belly Acre’s. We arrived at around 1:00 for a late Sunday lunch and it turned out that seemed to be a great timing between the brunch crowd and the lunch break parties. Other than that, it seems to stay busy so you might need to be prepared to wait in line before ordering. I suggest to just be patient and admire the restaurant around you while you’re waiting! Their policy does include that you must wait to sit at a table until your order has been taken so that they will have a table ready for each guest after serving them. They were faced with that right before we were ready to order, so they got bumped out so a table would be available. Finally, when we got up to the counter, I got to order exactly what I wanted with no complications, and sat down. I had ordered the«Mushroom State of Mind» burger($ 7.77) in order to help send Belly Acres to NYC for the James Beard Foundation. This came with a free side of(regular) fries and a drink. I opted for a vanilla milkshake instead. My mom created a BYO burger with sautéed mushrooms, provolone, and a wheat bun alongside an order of fries. My dad and sister both chose«The Cure» burger and he ordered the side onion rings. I will say that the despite being a «burger joint», the menu items are a tad bit on the pricey side, however, and I promise you in advance, you get what you pay for! I don’t know how you could not be amazed at the whole indoor experience. Everything goes along with the theme and the community down to every specific detail. Besides the«crashed plane», the landscape wall, the bright red truck at the entrance, and Memphis street names as table markers, there is even a little extra decorative touch in the bathroom! I really do love the fact they are«citified farm fresh» using only the best ingredients and care into each 100% grass fed burger. You can tell how local they push Memphis to be hoping to give us a sense of pride in our town. After admiring all around us, out came our drinks! I was first given my vanilla milkshake– YUM!!! My sister also received her root beer float which I was told nothing but deliciousness! Even my dad was handed his glass of wine with a breast cancer awareness bracelet! Not long after, there came our food! They most certainly came with an amazing mouthwatering first impression but that might also be because I was complaining about how hungry I was all the way there. Whoops! After posting my burger to social media, my hands were actually shaking I was so excited that I finally got to get a bite. And man, I was in burger HEAVAN! It was so juicy I couldn’t even put it down. Neither could my family who was all so happily destroying their burgers bite by bite. My dad claims that even the onion rings trumped Heuys’s! The fries were amazing and crispy to the crunch. Not one single sad wimpy drooping fry to be found! I’ll say it here and now. Best and juiciest burger I’ve had in Memphis, and may be even in my life. Also be prepared to be stuffed on the way out. We had full bellies and a whole to go box of fries left over. I suggest to eat slowly no matter how much you complain in the car before. Savor every bite of perfection! The service was definitely great too. They don’t just dump your food and never see you again, but you actually get checked up on which was a good surprise! It seems like they have everything in control and are good at what they do! Great job staff! I really though cannot stop thinking about this burger. I’m so proud of Memphis and Belly Acres and am crossing my fingers in hopes they can get to the Big Apple!

I hope to return and get an actual burger. The Unilocal special was pretty much the saddest burger on the burger binge. I have had a better burger from Wendy’s…ouch. I am sure this place has better to offer. Fresh fruit was perfect for my little girl: blueberries, pineapple, and grapes — all her faves. Really amazing cookies and cream milkshake. Nice and quick service. Love the location and the atmosphere. Gotta give them another chance…

Finally made it to Belly Acres today! YAY! You can so tell the difference between the farm fresh ingredients used here and other burger restaurants. I had the Voodoo Moo Moo burger with sweet potato fries and both were FANTASTIC! My husband had the French dip and fries. Both were great BUT the burger and sweet potato fries were so much better. I was surprised they had a walk-up counter to order at but it seemed to work very well. I love the mock road signs they give you to mark your table for the servers. Very cute idea. The waitress we had was very attentive. She offered to bring additional drinks before we asked, checked on us several times and took away empty dishes as soon as we were through eating. We will most definitely eat here again! If you haven’t tried it, you should.

Belly Acres is amazing! I’ve been a few times but have always forgotten to write a review. Last week we went and I got Elle’s West Coast burger(one of the temporary but potentially permanent options available) and it was outstanding! I really love how they have farm fresh veggies available as a side if you are trying to eat healthier. The day I went it was yellow summer squash which I was really looking forward to and it didn’t disappoint! My boyfriend got their fries which are out of this world delicious so I snuck a couple. Don’t judge me but I actually ate my burger sans bun and it was fabulous, especially with the pepper jelly they had on the burger. I’ve been consistently attending kickboxing fitness classes lately and I just wanted to not sabotage my progress. I’m not sure if hey offer a bunless burger option(AKA: Lettuce wrap) but I’ll be sure to ask next time!!! Update: I just found out that you can ask for a lettuce bun!

I really like this place! The burgers are fantastic! I love the way that you can customize your patty to your liking by choosing the different blends of meat. The fries and fresh sides are killer as well. The last time I was here I had the pork blended patty. I am looking forward to trying the chorizo mixed burger on the next visit. Go for The Cure burger! It is REALLY good! Excellent blend of top quality ingredients! I love the Brioche bun… It is the perfect combination of soft and firm with a little bit of crunch to it. I appreciate the community involvement that these guys have. They are really active in the community and give a ton to charities all around town. Thanks for that guys! Two gripes that pull down from 5 stars… Too many fries to an order and they are too expensive to add. Need a cheaper/smaller portion. I can’t possibly eat them all and for the price I am upset to leave them sitting there to throw away. It is a bit on the expensive side for a burger, fries, and a drink. It is easily $ 13 – 16 dollars per person, but hey, you get what you pay for… It’s GOOOOD!

Great burger place. Nice ½# burger. I had grilled Japa, sweet bun and pepper jack. Fries were fantastic as well. Beer selection is good. Parking garage I’d across the street. Give it a shot. I’ll be back.

Our first visit to Belly Acres was on a Saturday afternoon around noon in February. The place was extremely busy, but we were able to move straight to the counter and order and find a seat. As a vegan, my wife was glad that they had three options for vegan and vegetarian fare. I know, a vegan going to a burger place seems odd, but she’s a loving wife and as long as they have options for her, she indulges my wishes. My wife thought the black-eyed pea burger had very little flavor, although the pickled Collard slaw provided some flavor relief — she would not get it again. As well, she thought the onion rings could have had some type of seasoning, as the batter was bland. My hamburger was juicy and tasted good. There are so many options on how you can build your own burger here, that you will likely find one combination that will suit your taste. The Fresh-cut fries were also tasty. Now, we do have some tips based on this experience: (1) The process is that you order at the counter and then sit down after you get your street name plaque for your table(neat idea) — please don’t take a seat before you order, as you threw off the whole system. Fight your fear of scarcity and trust the system. They could add some signs that give more direction on the process, as we had to pass through a crowd and walk to the counter to ask if we give our name, order, or take a seat. (2) if it is cold outside, do not sit anywhere within a 20 foot radius of the door, you will absolutely freeze. A vestibule would have helped to block the straight shots of air every time the door is held open. (3) be prepared — there’s open air design and when mixed with the conversation, the kids, and the music, it is loud for old ears.

Fun place, perfect location and solid food. Been here twice and had a good meal both times, though was not blown away. First time I went with my girlfriends, we all had the veggie burgers(black eyed pea and lentil & onion). All delicious and happy that they have so many vegetarian options! Went with the Husband the second time. He had the La Vaca which was tasty, really good ingredients and fresh. However the beef patty was kinda dry. I had the thai style salad, huge quantity, delicious peanut dressing and the crunchy edemame were a nice touch. But I don’t think it was special enough to be worth $ 10. It would be perfect if they gave the option of having one of their many patties on the salad… that would be great! And I have to mention the sweet tea – love it, perfectly Southern sweet. Love the farm-to-table initiative and the décor is on point. Great place to grab a burger with friends.

Belly Acres is my new favorite burger spot. The food is delicious, the menu is very linear and easy to read, the décor is so much fun! When you walk in, you can peruse strategically placed menus as you wait in line or you can check out the massive electronic menu on the wall. The staff is pleasant and helpful. After you order, you get a sign that identifies for servers which table to deliver your order. The signs are named after Memphis streets. Nice touch! When I was there, some families came together to have a birthday party for children and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. Other people enjoyed local beer on the patio. The best part beyond all the deliciousness is the décor. The artwork is so awesome and fun. It’s clear that the setting is a corn field with blue skies and a barn in the distance. The lights are made out of decorative corn stalks. The restaurant is so cool I was convinced it had to be a chain. However, a staff member told me the concept is totally local. Yay Memphis! Woot! I highly recommend Belly Acres. This restaurant has the potential to stick around for years and become an iconic Memphis eatery.

My last review of the year…*sigh* where did 2014 go?! Well, I want to end on a good note so of course it’ll be a 5-star review. So yes yes yes yes yes yes yes to this place!!! I LOVE it! I’m totally on board with this farm-to-table craze. And every burger I’ve had here has been divine… and we all know I’m totally obsessed with burgers. If you are what you eat… I’d be a burger… with extra cheese. I also love the location(Overton Square) and how cute the interior is… and that they use Memphis street signs instead of table numbers. Oh and those shakes? Hallelujah! My only wish was that they had waiters instead of ordering up front, but it is no biggie.
