I’ve done business with Colonial for decades. Bought mowers, leaf blowers, repair services, parts, etc. Have historically been satisfied with my experience. This morning I called and asked for someone that knows a bit about Echo leaf blowers. The guy I got on the phone was disrespectful and downright rude. After asking a reasonable question I got the passive aggressive chuckle and condescending tone which said nothing more than, «Look, y’all. I got an idiot on the phone.» Needless to say, not everyone from the floor staff attended the most recent customer service training session back in 1978. Update: Management contacted me, offered a sincere apology, ensured me he’d address the problem, and offered his personal time to discuss my needs. Changed rating from 1 to 4 stars.

I live nearby so I shop Colonial often. I have purchases an echo blower and trimmer from them and regularly buy misc hardware. Colonial is awesome. They have a good inventory and excellent service. I have found they will do whatever they can to help you whether that results in a sale for them or not. Five stars!!!

In addition to my 1 star and the only 3 star review, there are THREEADDITIONAL1 star reviews not easily viewed on the next page. CHECKTHEMOUT especially the last one. So…my sister dropped off her mower at Colonial Hardware recently with a $ 50+ deposit. Last night, when I learned of her unfortunate choice, I warned her to be prepared for a financial shock when picking it up! She replied in disbelief, because she only needed the belt put back on, which she had attempted herself. It’s barely 12 hours after my warning and she just called me screaming about this company and their unscrupulous fee of $ 167 to REPLACE A BELT!!! She was IRRATE and I don’t blame her! Colonial Hardware extorts money from their customers holding your property hostage until you pay the exorbitant fees they demand, without warning, a phone call, nothing. If you are shocked and don’t wish to pay that CRAZY fee! They reply that they will be happy to sell your property to recoup the monies they demand! THEIRSERVICEIS A DISSERVICE!!! BEWARE!!!

I dropped my toro walk behind mower off to get the clutch break assembly looked at and or repaired cause the blade has totally lost power. I asked to receive a courtesy call before any repairs were done just in case it was going to be cheaper to buy a new mower. I never received a call, luckily the repairs plus the 20 dollar inspection fee was only 118.00 bucks way less than a new mower of comparable features. Although the repairs were not much I still would have liked a call before any work being done. After I paid and picked up my mower I decided to make sure everything was in working order before loading it up and leaving. I’m so glad I did! I started the mower and engaged the blade and thick white smoke starred to come out from underneath the mower deck! I immediately turned it off and walk straight back in a told them what was wrong. You would think that they would have tested this before I picked it up. The bearing had gone bad and they fixed it on the spot without any additional charges. I’m very glad I tested the mower before leaving or else I would have been very upset to have to reload this thing and drive all the way back to the store.
