Good BBQ. second favorite here in Memphis. I like central. Although to tell you the truth a good beef rib in texas is best.

Recently received a gift of Corky’s ribs(2 slabs), pulled pork in sauce and brisket in sauce. It arrived in Styrofoam with dry ice. It was well packaged and the products were frozen. We have now eaten each. The ribs were very mediocre at best, the pulled pork was good, the brisket was tough, chewy and not edible.

Airport BBQ at its best… I won’t compare this to any of the top barbecue places out there because it’s in an airport so don’t think your going to get food comparable to Rendevouz in Memphis or Pappy’s in STL, that’s just not realistic. The place was decent for grabbing something quick at the airport before you have to catch your flight. I sat at the bar and had the pulled pork sandwich and washed it down with a Sam Adams. The sandwich wasn’t bad. The pork had a smoky taste that I liked and the sauce wasn’t too sweet. It seemed that only half my sandwich had sauce in it which was disappointing. The bartender was very friendly and checked on me several times. At one point we BS’d while watching the bronze medal game of women’s beach volleyball for the Olympics. Great service, good food on the go, I would stop by again if I have a layover in Memphis but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Is this some sort of charity, where people from prison get on work release and«work» here? I walked by 3 times, and walked away 3 times because the guy was too busy to take my order, on his cell phone with his back turned to the world, eating something. i kept walking around the terminals but there wasn’t much in selection — i kept hoping this place could give Memphis Ribs a final good memory i was hoping for. whatever– what a fkn dump. forget memphis ribs and forget this place.

Ask the people of Memphis which BBQ is the best and you’ll get many passionate replies. It usually comes down to Corky’s vs. Interstate. However, anyone who makes the mistake of dining at either airport locations won’t find any passion at all. Rather you will feel like an uninvited guest at a really bad, overpriced, mediocre cafeteria. Add employees with very bad attitudes topped with indifference… just awful. It’s too bad because the real Corky’s and Interstate restaurants are truly great.

I had a layover at the Memphis Airport and this happen to the closest place to eat by my gate(B41) to LAX. I’m keeping in mind this is fast food at an airport so by those standards, it was pretty good. The service however was terrible. Two lines and it took longer standing in line to place my order than it was to get the actual food. They also only took exact change cash or credit card only. I understand they were busy but my food wasn’t even hot. It was just warm, despite that I still really liked the pork pulled sandwich. The bbq sauce was awesome and wasn’t too overpowering. The fact I was starving might have something to do with the extra star I’m giving this review. So think 3.3 stars, not actually 4. Hopefully some day I can get Corky’s BBQ at a restaurant and not fast food style at an airport.

Not the best that I’ve ever had, I want to like Corky’s and have tried it several times but I’ve decided that this place is not for me. I’ve had the pulled pork sandwich and ribs, both are OK but not fabulous. I like a smoky, slow wood smoked BBQ flavor and Corky’s doesn’t have it. The portions are large and bad BBQ is still pretty good… There are just other places in Memphis that I like much better…

Lesson learned: if you want BBQ dont eat it at the airport. When I planned on catching Corky’s at the airport I didnt realize it was more like fast food than a restaurant. As I watched the girl take my ribs premade out of a plastic bag I began to rethink… especially with the price. I assume the experience is very different in the actual restaurant. Compared to other BBQs I tried in Memphis I had to say that the flavor at Corkys was one of the best. Tasty sauce. The ribs were meaty, but had pretty high level of fat. Sides were good. It will do in a pinch at the airport.

Not impressed at all. Jim N has much better food if you want BBQ at the airport. Best I can say is that now I know where they got the idea for the McRib…

Love Corkys. Lived in Memphis for years and while I don’t get back to the city very often, I at least know that when I fly through the airport I can still get some of Memphis’ best BBQ. Of course you have to get the pulled pork sandwich with slaw on top and baked beans on the side… well, you could also go with the ribs which are out of this world, but you can’t beat the sandwich. The workers here are the nicest you could ever meet… just hearing them call me darlin’ put me in better mood instantaneously.

I arrived at the airport a tad bit too early, and decided to grab a pulled pork sandwich to pass some of my time. And just an FYI– pulled pork sandwiches are always a great way to pass your time– hungry or not. I walked up right before a lunch rush hit, and was certainly glad that I did. Given how long it took her to make my one sandwich, I might still be sitting there today. The sandwich was typical Corky’s– huge, overflowing with porky goodness and mounds of coleslaw. I’m not a huge Corky’s fan to begin with. It will definitely do in a pinch, but I’m a big supporter of crunchy bits in my pork and I’ve never encountered this at a Corky’s location. The employees were friendly enough, and the restaurant was well stocked and clean– no complaints there. I just hate when I see that people choose Corky’s as a place to experience BBQ when visiting, and the Corky’s inside the airport no less. Please, I beg of you, venture outside the confines of this place and try some real Memphis BBQ. This will definitely fill the void when you are hungry, but by no means should it be a representation of what BBQ awaits you in Memphis.

3.5 stars During an unplanned stop at the Memphis airport, I was introduced to Memphis via some bbq. I walked right by Corky’s without even knowing it until I smelled the delicious bbq. I had the pulled pork sandwich which is pretty much pork on a hamburger bun. With the addition of their bbq sauce, it was tasty and filling. Without the addition of bbq sauce, it was a bit plain, but the pork was tender and plentiful. My meal came with two sides — the coleslaw tasted a bit too relishy for me, but I loved the baked beans which exuded a smooth molasses flavor. Service was fast, efficient, and pleasant. Overall, it was pretty decent BBQ for airport food

For airport food(airport BBQ at that) this place hit the spot. If you have the time, grab the ribs and pork platter. It’s probably better than anything else you’ll find in the airport.

The Corky’s at the airport was the last stop on my BBQ tour of Memphis. I take into consideration that this is airport fast food, and that it is not cooked on the premises. I tried the hot link sausage sandwich, the pulled pork, and sampled the two miniscule sides of beans and slaw. All the food was edible, but average at best. The sauce on the spicy sausage was too sweet, and conflicted with, rather than enhanced the smoky flavor of the meat. The two high tables with stools that I attempted to sit at were very wobbly, so I ended up at the counter along the wall staring at photos of celebrity customers like Rufus Thomas, Venus Williams, Jack Nicholson, and Danny Devito. This place is good for a quick bite before your flight, but if the BBQ at the flagship location isn’t any better than this, it’s hard to understand the hype.

I ordered the BBQ pork platter. Comes with two sides… I mean shots. The potato salad was literally on spoonful. The beans gave a very gracious two spoonfuls. Sure, the pork was great. But dont call it a platter when you get more food at a homeless shelter.

We, Memphians, have a saying: Go to Rendezvous for ribs and Corky’s for the pulled pork. I love Corky’s, and with all of the awesome Memphis BBQ joints, that’s saying alot. But Corky’s isn’t a joint. It’s big, it’s clean, it’s quick and it’s great. I always have a hard time choosing what to order at Corky’s because I have a few favorites– the pulled pork sandwich, the BBQ pork nachos and the BBQ pulled pork salad. All are divine. But really, who can resist a basket of cheesy goodness like the saucy, crunchy, cheese-drenched nachos? Yep, they usually win. And if I’m with a group, you better believe I’m going to order a sausage and cheese plate for the table. The servers are busy, but friendly and fast. I’ve never had to wait long to order or to get my food. Another perk? Corky’s ships. I love sending as gifts to my old college roomie or friends that have moved out of town. Corky’s ribs are a nice alternative to flowers or jewelry and my friends usually call to thank me, squealing with appreciation.

Really personable staff who take a curious interest in their customers as if they are at a real bbq instead of serving people who may not know if they’re in Memphis or Minnesota. I loved the pulled pork sandwich chock full of really homemade looking and tasting meat. It was mouth-watering, and I’m sure it had others’ stomachs growling when they smelled it on the plane — poor slobs! Hope I connect through Memphis again soon!

I had a layover. I was in Memphis. There was BBQ. I figured… Why not? Corky’s is well known. There’s a ridiculously long line. Theoretically, my socks shall shortly be rocked. –Overpriced –Rude cashier –Not enough room for people to sit –Sloppy(in a bad way) sandwich– the bread felt like it had been steamed, which isn’t really my thing. I HATE soggy bread. Ask my friends. –It made me sick an hour later. Yeah. Being sick on an airplane at night during turbulance due to sheisty bbq food = NOTCOOL I’m officially boycotting this place long-distance.
