I’m rounding up to a 4. This was a return trip for me. The first time was when they were at the place across the street. Everything that time was killer. This time, there were hits & misses. The ribs could’ve cooked a little longer but they were great in the hot sauce. The BBQ spaghetti was awesome! The pork just wasn’t as good as it used to be. I get why but it just was OK at best. Still very solid in many respects but not a 5-star place anymore.

AMAZINGBBQ! The Cornish hen was so moist and yummy. Ribs were some of the best in Memphis. Delicious dry rub and great sauce. Sides are nothing special. Go for the excellent BBQ and not the ambience.

YESYESYES. Some Memphis bbq is very average for«Memphis bbq,» BUT Cozy Corner is THEBEST!!! We live close, so we usually get it to go.(The new temporary location is very small, but if that’s your only option, eating there is doable) Ribs and wings are both a must! My husband likes the ribs best and I love the wings!!! The best barbecue I’ve ever put in my mouth hands down! Also, it’s not a frilly place, but don’t let that deter you! It’s AMAZING.

Unfortunately because of a fire at the original restaurant, I ate at a compromised location across the street which was joint with a fellow restaurant. So I wasn’t expecting much, but man was I wrong! I had a brisket sandwich with bbq spaghetti and baked beans. The brisket was cut well, and smoked properly, and seasoned well. It was on a poppyseed hoagie which was surprisingly good. The bbq spaghetti was decent, for what it was it was good, not big on anything other than marinara on spaghetti. I was still hungry, and made the best decision of my life(kidding somewhat) and had the best bbq wings of my life, and a very good homemade banana pudding as well. This was a nice little hole in the wall type place.

I had high expectations here, but honestly, it wasn’t the best BBQ I had in Memphis. The ribs were fatty, gristly, and on the dry side. There wasn’t much meat on the bone at all, and they weren’t very hot(temperature-wise). Still good, but not all I was hoping for.

Excellent BBQ! The owner is very sweet and friendly. Great fried bologna sandwhiches but the ribs are some of the best I have eaten. They are temporarily across the street from the original location as it is currently being rebuilt. Great and delicious food. Don’t pass it by

Me and Megan were toolin around the big M looking for some draft dodgers to stomp when we got a hankerin for some Q. Pulled the limo over near Cozy Corner and then took an Über to the restaurant. Parking is tough here people. Anyway, got the spicy sliced pork sammich. Kinda like an auju roast beef sammich but with sliced pork. Order extra spicy if your American enough. If not just go back to Russia and cry in your borscht. You won’t be sorry. BESTSAMMICHINTOWN. And only like $ 5 bucks. Now that’s a no spin zone! Seriously, the sandwich is incredible.

(Post review from Aug 2014 Memphis trip) I know I’m suppose to review the ribs, spaghetti and such. BUTTHISCHICKENISAMAZING. It is BYFAR the most interesting BBQ chicken I’ve ever tried, and I fell in love immediately. This is the first«restaurant» chicken that tastes LIKEBBQ! Nothing light nor slight. And it’s sauced! I will leave it at that. Try that other stuff, but you MUST get the chicken too. 5⁄5 The sides were average: spaghetti bbq, beans, slaw. 3⁄5 The ribs were a little too dry, which allowed the fat to grease through, but we came late and it just happens at certain points in a bbq’s life. I would go back, just earlier. 2⁄5 My favorite is their sign… you better mean it if you like it spicy, cuz they don’t mess around! All the people in here are locals. You know it’s good. Sweet tea is great. Thanks for the BBQ! Overall, Second place for the trip.(Best in class: chicken/poultry)

Can’t go wrong with BBQ at Cozy Corner. I live in Texas, with family in Missouri — everytime I drive through I make an effort to stop here for a wings and ribs combo plate. The first time I loved the wings more than subsequent times, but I’m not sure if it’s just that the ribs are so amazing. The sides are really nothing special, but the bbq is unbelievable. We tried most of the famous bbq places in Memphis, but this is really the standout.

We came at 11am right when the place was opening. I’m not sure if that messed up our experience or if we just came at a bad time. 1st of all, the restaurant has relocated to a building that is across the street from the original restaurant, this may also factor into our bad experience because the old location had a unique looking smoker from what I saw on YouTube videos. We ordered a slab of ribs, a Cornish hen, and a sliced pork sandwich that we split apart and shared. Ribs: Came sliced up and drowning in sauce, definitely different from other places that serve the entire slab uncut. These ribs were very undercooked, you had to put in some real effort to get the meat off of the bone. They were very smokey, but the sauce was also very smokey by itself. Cornish hen: it was burnt. The legs and wings were pretty much inedible because they were straight black. The breasts were completely dried out. Pork sandwich: was the best thing that we ordered. Unfortunately this still did not measure up to the other sandwiches that we had across town. This was the last BBQ place we ate at when we visited Memphis, we were all very disappointed.

Some of the best BBQ I have ever had in my life. It sure beats the tourist BBQ places in Memphis. The staff and owner are good people and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and get you the best product possible. Great experience all around. I can’t wait to go back when I am in Memphis again.

Amazing ribs!!! Best of my life hands down. Way more meat and way more tender then Central BBQ. Less of a line and cheaper too! Don’t sleep on this place cause it doesn’t have as many reviews, it’s where the locals go and they know wassup! Sauce is tangy, sweet and smokey and it’s nice and syrup like. Banana pudding is delicious as well. Has a high nilla wafer content too! Love that Mrs. Robinson chills at her store as her kids run it and greets/welcome all her guess

I had the highly recommended Cornish game hen today, and it was even better than I had imagined. The young lady behind the register recommended choosing half hot and half mild sauce and it was perfect! I also grabbed a pound of Bologna before I left for dinner! Wise decision! Great service, as well.

I went here based on some locals recommendations and I’m glad I did! The people and owner of this establishment are fantastic human beings. I sat and had a great hour of conversation and food. I did the ribs and wings and was not let down. Easily the best in Memphis. I took a bologna sandwich to go. I wasn’t expecting much, since I’ve had fried bologna before. But this was different. You could taste the smoke from other meats in it and the big scoop of slaw on top was a treat! If you’re in Memphis, you have to stop here. There’s no questions asked, it’s that good!

Bless the Cozy Corner An unassuming little slice of BBQ history. At first bite, I wasn’t so sold on the ribs. Until I took a second one. It became addictive. Very different than anywhere else. A bit of a smoky tang. Absolutely perfect. The Cornish Hens? Delicious. Great Banana Pudding . The service? Very friendly, sweet. They suffered from an electrical fire months back and thanks to Memphian Support, are now across the way temporarily. Here’s to the rebuild in that wondrous old place.
