I love this place! Once or twice a year, I go in and stock up on candles. The candles here are wood wicked and reasonably priced in comparison to similar candles at Yankee Candle or some other more commercial location. The great thing about DCC is that they are a small, locally owned business. If you’re all about supporting local small business, this is the place to go. Its in the South Main Arts district and they make candle shopping so much fun!

This is a great little local candle shop. The smells are great, and they have a great variety of flavors. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
The wicks are a different shape than normal. They are made of wood (I think). They are thin but about a centimeter long.
They also have tarts and soaps.
Go there and buy a candle!

This place is great! I bought my first candle and an acne bar. I can’t wait to get back to DC and burn the candle in my crib. I bought Passion. It was so hard to choose. Everything smelled amazing!

The guys that run this shop are awesome. It’s very well done and the candles smell amazing. We noticed it when we were walking around downtown. The candles have wooden wicks, but it comes with instructions on how to light them. They smell better than Yankee Candle and are a lot more reasonably priced!

Guess what? They sell candles. Yeah, like amazing candles!
I was having meal downtown before heading to the Forum to catch a basketball game when I noticed a brand new storefront on GE Patterson. I was surprised that the store was still open. I didn’t have clue what they were selling but the open door and dim lighting drew me in like a moth to a light bulb. But it wasn’t light bulbs they were selling… it was candles.
Apparently the candles are made downtown and they come in one size, one color, but about 50 fragrance choices. Seriously, I don’t know how many… but it’s a lot. The are simple yet beautiful at the same time with white wax and wooden wicks in a clear glass container.
The selection is arranged in the store by fragrance groups. All the clean scents are together, the floral, the gourmet… you get the idea. It makes it really easy to find what you are looking for. I wasn’t looking for anything that day, but I HAD to have a lemongrass candle.
I love this candle. It makes my whole house smell fresh and wonderful. And as I sit here writing this and enjoying my candle, I can here a gentle crackle from the wood wick. Nice.
