La Michoacana

I have been wanting to try this place for the longest and when I finally went I was not disappointed. This place is great. Being that I’ve never been, I asked to try some ice cream flavors. I tasted the strawberries and cream and Mexican cake. They were both good but I went for the Mexican cake on a cone because it was really good. I also got to try a free sample of their horchata which I though was delicious. All in all, I can wait to go back to try more of their ice cream flavors. There prices are affordable, plus they have nice staff who are very helpful. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven’t been yet!

This is my favorite place to get ice cream. Sometimes I will buy paletas in bulk if they have a sale. They also have really good fruit drinks though their horchata wasn’t very cinammony.

I don’t get ice cream. Ever. I love this ice cream. There are no signs to identify the flavors. I asked what the one that looked best was. Mexican Cake. It was so good. The spouse got a double scoop — coconut and pineapple with cheese? He loved the pineapple. Not sure about what cheese it was, but so good.

Excellent customer service. The cantaloupe drink is AWESOME. The avocado ice cream in a popsicle I ate was delicious. If I’m nearby I will come again!

Amazing ice cool treats! Never a disappointment. Super friendly staff. Decent sized place for ice cream. Got tables for sittings. A huge selection to choose from. Self made. Can’t be beat! A must try! Got me going back twice in one day before. My favorite is the spicy mango popsicle. Go try this place out!

Excellent food! We arrived at 3:45 and had the place to ourselves for awhile. They have a very good salsa which has some sort asian pepper added for extra kick or something. It’s really good and I’m not a spice person. I ordered fish tacos which comes with salad and got rice and beans on the side. Shoulda gotten a doggy bag! Excellent taste, temp, texture, and I totally enjoyed the atmosphere.

This place is legit, everything and I do mean EVERYTHING that they have is wonderful and really amazingly priced. I love the service, and the flavors are endless so there is something for everyone here. I really recommend the maiz ice cream it is totally delicious.

I’ve been to this location and also the Summer Avenue one and neither have disappointed. I went to the Winchester location yesterday and tried the Mango Chili Popsicle.
For one thing, I’m an ice cream girl, NOT a Popsicle fan. I just prefer the creamy richness of ice cream. Unless it’s a popsicle from here. There were a ton of mango chunks in my popsicle and the hit of chili was perfect. I just can’t say enough.
My boyfriend got the Mexican cake ice cream and he was kind enough to let me try some. I joked about taking his ice cream and running away with it because it was so good. It was t really a joke though because his ice cream was delicious.
Add the fact that they give generous tastes of any flavor you want, the prices are SUPER reasonable and it just doesn’t get better than this. Go now!

Now this is an ice cream shop! Forget about all those new places popping up everywhere. You want real ice cream and flavors you can’t get anywhere else? Go to La Michoacana.

I love this place and my husband brings me here often. It’s authentic Mexican ice cream. Another dessert they sell is churros, the tall skinny kind most people are familiar with, as well as the short fat ones that you can fill with caramel, lechera, and possibly other things. They’re very good, though caramel filled was definitely my favorite.
They also sell traditional Mexican snack food such as helote and a few other things. The helote is good as well though watery.
Today I got the banana split and ahhhh it was heaven. Comes with the usual whipped cream, banana, cherries, and chocolate on top, but you can also add granola or raisins or something else I can’t remember at the moment. It also has two chocolate-​stuffed oreos that really taste good with ice cream. Ahh very delicious.
Another time I got chicarone preparado, something not listed on the menu but which is great. It’s $ 5 and comes with cabbage, tomato, cream, valentina hot sauce, cotija cheese, and normally fresh pork skins but I asked for mine to come without that, all on top of a fried chicharone.
If you’ve never gotten their flavored waters then you gotta give it a shot! Their horchata isn’t as good here (seems to be lacking in cinnamon) but their other flavors are awesome. Hubby loved the strawberry one but my favorites were Melon and Pineapple (Piña).
