Old school candy slash roasted nuts shop. Fun to stop in and you can get some good mixed nuts.

We decided to get a snow cone during this hot summer day with our daughter; she’s one, and she absolutely loved her blue bubblegum snow cone. The Peanut Shoppe is a neat little place– we got a pound of Spanish peanuts which are delicious. We just love the snow cones. I had a peach one. They’re not like Hawaiian Shaved Ice– this ice is harder and thicker shavings, but it’s good. My wife let me know that her mother used to get snow cones here when she was a little girl, so this really is an old place with a personality. The three of us got snow cones and it was only $ 5 and some change. Totally awesome.

This place is classic! Although they do serve many different variations of peanuts(roasted, spicy, chocolate, etc.), I went with a friend and got a snow cone and some chocolate malt candy(it’s basically a candy shop). The feel of this place makes you feel like you’re in the 50’s/60’s and I’m not sure the it’s completely intentional. A neat place if you suddenly get a sweet tooth and are in the area. Give it a shot!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. When I still lived in Memphis I went here about every 2 – 3 weeks. Warm cashews was my favorite. This place had every version of nut known to man kind. lol There was old fashioned candy and sodas amongst the goodies. This place is just a small little nook, but worth every square inch of space it takes up. Highly recommend stopping in here for a treat!

The Peanut Shoppe has been in business on Summer Avenue for a long, long time. I remember going here when I was a kid. I was driving by the other day with my son, and decided to pop in and pick up some treats. I was also hoping they would have the elusive Wasabi Peanuts I have been searching for around town. Well, they didn’t have those, but they had just about every other variety of nut you could ask for. My son got a small bag of Chocolate Covered Almonds, which I gladly helped him eat later, and I also grabbed a $ 4 bag of peanuts in the shell, which I have steadily been munching on the past few days. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ll have to go back for a refill pretty soon. They are quite addictive!

What a fun little place. It’s nothing fancy from the outside, save for the old-fashioned sign. You walk in, see a penny horse, and you smell, surprise!, roasted peanuts. They sell for $ 4 per pound, and they smell delicious. This is the place for the nut aficionado. Other items include white chocolate cashew clusters, Cajun hot mix, pistachios, boiled peanuts, peanut brittle, and the list goes on. Also found are several varieties of candy favorites, some often harder to find — many Wonka brands, Jelly Bellies, rock candy, and my favorite, fruit slices. The prices are reasonable and you’ll walk out with a smile.
