The food is mediocre. The service left lots to be desired. We ordered drinks upon arriving and my husband had to retrieve his beverage halfway through his meal because it was not brought to him when the rest of ours was. Also, it’s insanely pricey for the can of beans«baked beans» side that was served. My child’s fries NEVER arrived with his burger. The list goes on.

Enjoyed a good meal here. The ribs were«melt-in-your-mouth» delicious, and the fried green tomatoes were perfection! Service was given with a sweet smile. We have been to Central BBQ and find Pollard’s to be better. It’s a not in the main downtown/tourist area and so you can’t walk from most hotels. But we had no problem driving to/finding it.

Best barbecue I be ever had. Ribs are juicy and taste so good. I chose mild this time but it could be more spicy. I wish there’s bbq restaurant around my area. Cole slaw was also good. Not too salty, not too creamy. Best balance. Links, perfect with home made sauce(honey mustard) & veggies.

We stumbled upon this place after deciding not to go to Graceland. Right away, we noticed that the service was going to be exceptional. Denise greeted us warmly and immediately struck up a conversation about our travels. Our favorite items were the delicious homemade sausages, the fried pickles, the fried catfish, and the homemade tartar sauce. Unlike most barbecue places, their food is not too salty and you don’t leave hating yourself. We finished our meal with the Elvis sandwich, which is probably the most necessary experience in Memphis. It was so good! Denise kept coming by and continuing our fun conversation. We left feeling refreshed and ready to get back to our road trip!

Incredible food. Good folks working there as well. Ribs are as good as I’ve had in a long time.

We loved this restaurant! Friendly staff. We enjoyed our lunch very much. We had a BBQ pork sandwich with slaw, a bologna sandwich with slaw and ribs along with the Elvis dessert. We stopped after visiting the Elvis Museum. Well worth the stop!

Food was great! Service was even better. I’ll be back for sure the next time I’m in Memphis. Please do yourself a favor and get the fried green tomatoes. The only complaint I have is they only give you 3 tomato slices. Come on now! You can do better than that!

Four of us dined on ribs! Good meaty smokey ribs with delicious sauce choices. Highly recommended the fried green tomatoes as well. Ambiance is non existent but that’s not why we stopped. It’s all about the Q!

The pulled pork sandwich was perfect and I don’t know that I’ve had baked beans quite like theirs in a long long time. The lady at the counter was very sweet.

Eh… I expected a bit more to be honest. It appeared they were out of most things. I don’t recommend the rib tips. I had more fat then actual rib meat. The mild sauce was a touch on the watery side. Onion rings were from frozen. The slaw was pretty good actually. It took me a bit of time but I remember seeing them on Resturant Impossible a few years ago. Wasn’t why I came here but remembered when I saw the newspaper article framed on the bar.

My first taste of Memphis BBQ. I prefer my sauce on the side instead of on my ribs. Fried pickles and pulled pork sandwich were great! Not sure about BBQ spaghetti. Interesting to say the least. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, clean

We were on our way of Memphis and needed to get some Memphis Bar B-Q. We were finishing up in Graceland and were looking for a place around the area before we hit the highway. This fit the bill. Fantastic service and decent food. I ordered fried okra which was actually disappointing. My son ordered the ribs with a side of baked beans and slaw and my husband pork and sausage. The meat itself was okay(not great) but the sides were quite disappointing. If you are in the area, definitely go. Really wonderful people who run the place. Decent food. Okay prices. I am sure there are other Barbecue places in town which are far superior.

Absolutely love this place! It’s a great place to stop in right before heading to the airport. Their service is super fast without affecting the quality of what they serve. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich and the FRIEDPICKLES are AMAZING!!!

I stopped by here this past Friday afternoon for lunch with my wife. After touring Graceland in the morning we were looking for some BBQ and Unilocal pointed us here. As we pulled up to the restaurant the first thing that we noticed was a sign saying that they had been on the Food Network. Then as we entered the doors we found a nice looking place on the inside. It was L shaped with a long bar on the long part of the L and then tables in the rest. The walls were painted bright colors and they had some sheet music on the walls. Whenever we were told to sit wherever we wanted we choose a table along the wall. For lunch my wife and I decided to try just about everything on the menu and ordered two meat duos. With those we got pork, rib tips, ribs and sausage with our chosen sides being bbq spaghetti, fried okra, fried green tomatoes and pickle chips. Then for dessert I ended up ordering the Elvis which was a banana and peanut butter sandwich in between two pieces of French toast. After a little bit of a wait our food came out and boy was there a lot of it. My favorite of the meats ended up being the sausage which had a nice complex flavor to it. Then after that I enjoyed the rib tips and ribs which while they weren’t fall off the bone still had a great smokey flavor to them. For the sides my favorite was the fried green tomato which had a great cornmeal crust to it. The BBQ spaghetti was easily the most interesting and was exactly what it sounds like, BBQ sauce(with scraps of meat) over top of a bed of spaghetti. Although I was pretty full at this point I still had my Elvis sandwich on the way. While I like each individual component I wasn’t sure how they would play together. Of course if Elvis liked it then I figured it would be good and indeed it was. Surprisingly with all of the sweets on it the taste wasn’t cloyingly so. I should also note that the food alone was probably only 4 stars good so what really made the place a 5 star joint was the service. Our server was very kind to us and constantly checked on us which was pretty incredible since I think she was running the whole front of the house by herself. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. The service was great and the food was good as well.

What a blast this place was. Denise was an amazing server! The food was well done. Cooked to perfection, cooked throughly and seasoned with just enough spice and smoke. Tender throughout and the medium bbq sauce was beautiful and flavorful! We had a great time. If we ever make it back it back to this place we will actually come back here. The outside isn’t something to right home about, but the inside is warm and the service and food are spectacular!

Wouldn’t get caught here twice… I and the family ordered food two different times, because they were out of everything. Started with the wings and somehow after 10 minutes they came out and said they were out. Then tried ordering fish. Also out. The lights weren’t on when we walked in and everyone who worked there was lounging around. The sign on the road said featured on Food Network… how long ago is my question?

Not going to lie, my gps didn’t even take me to the right place! Yet when I got here I wasn’t disappointed. A hole in the wall that packed a punch. The beef plate gave enough for two full sandwhiches and the hot sauce had some fire! I was very pleased with the food, portions and the price was less than $ 21 for two people. To top it off the lady at the counter was fun full of laughter and a hoot to talk with about the food. A sure place to stop and get a good meal!

This hole in the wall will blow you away!!! BBQ is done right! Ribs were delicious! The hot BBQ sauce was my favorite and the mild was my hubby’s preference! Kids had bbq sandwich and burger and really enjoyed it! Standard French fries, fried tomatoes were alright, but the potato salad was really good! Probably should have tried the baked beans!!! Service was unbelievable! The lady who works the counter is hospitable and clearly invested in the business! Tea is good, tasted fresh!

Magnificent bbq in a very«hole in the wall» place! Stopped by for lunch because of high Unilocal ratings and I was thoroughly impressed. You wouldn’t think much from the outside, but the food inside is amazing!!! We were kindly greeted and taken care of by Denise, who I assumed was the owner. She was beyond friendly and took care of us very well. I ordered the meat duo(pick two meats and two sides) the bbq ribs, pork, french fries, and potato salad. After a very short wait, our food came out and wowza it was tasty!!! The ribs and pork were moist, warm, and exploding with flavor. For such a nonchalant place, I wouldn’t think the meats would be this good… but it’s certainly one of the best ribs I’ve tasted. I’m glad I stopped here and would definitely come back!!!

Good stuff on Elvis Presley Blvd. We had: ribs, rib tips, fish, fried vegetables(pickles, okra, green tomatoes). We liked it all! Restaurant was totally empty on a late Friday afternoon, but service was prompt and friendly. Would appreciate real silverware and hot sauce on the tables, but the BBQ was on-point.
