Saigruha is the best place to have chicken biryani in Memphis. This place consistently delivers the same taste every single time one goes there. Saigruha is also a go to place to get biryani for any special celebrations.

If you are looking for a normal restaurant, this one is so much better, but also weird. When I went, it was just a man and a woman running the place the whole time. No one else came in. (Lunch on a weekday). The dosa and biriani were amazing. Now it’s not your american style restaurant because it’s the real deal. Styrofoam plates, no water refills, no ice in our water, got our own silverware ourselves. I’m ok with all of this because the food was great.

I have been wanting to review this place for the past few months. I took this time coz my experience with this place had been very inconsistent due to their continuous change of management.
But now the place has been taken over by the previous chef of Bharat restaurant. The food has been consistently awesome. Do not go there if you are looking for mild/​Americanized version of Indian food. They have the most authentic SOUTH INDIAN food ever.
You should try their paper masala dosa and come and thank me later. If you want to taste what real biryani tastes like, go to sai gruha (After tasting the biryani, I spoke to the owner, who told me he worked as a chef at Paradise biryani in India: which in simpler words is the Mecca for biryani in India.)
I am not too sure of their North Indian curries like chicken tikka masala etc. coz they specialize in South Indian and I would rather stick to that. I have heard their chicken 65 is pretty awesome too. The food is so good, I have given them 5 stars. The ambience is nothing great. Also, the service is just ok. But the food compensates for everything.
They do a lot of to-​go orders especially biryanis and seem to be pretty popular with the Indian community. I hope they keep up with the quality, and there are no more management changes.
And yeah, they do not have any weekend buffet.

This place is great and authentic. Be prepared for spice even if you ask for mild. The lunch deals are great and come with way too much food. My only complaint is that they are not always open (the store is but the restaurant is not) unless this has changed. Call 1St to make sure they are open. The only other complaint is the styrofoam… Would be nice without it but this place is that good so it’s worth it.

This place is great. I recently found this place after another one of my favorite Indian restaurants shut its doors. I ordered the Onion Pakora app, Kadai Chicken entrée and got some Garlic Naan too… everything was delicious and had very good flavor. I will be returning very soon. Keep up the good work!
