Tacos el Pato is a truck I’ve seen occasionally at the east end of the shopping center located at the corner of Macon and Wells Station, in which Maya’s was located. If you’re cruising the area but unsure what to look for, it has Donald Duck on the side of the trailer. Pretty distinctive. I’m not sure if that’s an endorsement from DD. As far as I know, el Pato only offers tacos. They are served undressed, but all the works are present at the window: green and red sauce, cilantro, onions, lime, and radishes. Based on one visit, the tacos were adequate, but I don’t think they measured up to some of the others I’ve had. I had chorizo, asada, and campechano tacos. I was intrigued since I had seen«campechano» twice in about 30 hours and had no idea what that was. The lady at Tacos el Paisa couldn’t tell me what it was. Well, after being informed that el Pato had no pastor, I found out that it is asada and chorizo mixed. Having ordered the asada and chorizo separately, I shrugged, owned my ignorance, and enjoyed the tacos. Other offerings that may be unfamiliar: Cabeza — head Suadero — beef with a touch of lemon(on my to do list!) Tacos el Pato sells drinks(Jarritos and Coke products) and had a table set up with some chairs on the day I visited. There were a couple of young workers with good conversational English. Cash only. Tacos el Pato is a legitimate option for your taco fix.
