Great hole in the wall sandwich place(only open for lunch) with an awesome, huge, juicy fresh roasted turkey sandwich. Get it on the Dutch crunch bread and add avocado, then enjoy at the tables outside while basking in the Menlo sun. The soft chocolate chip cookie is awesome, too, with giant chocolate chunks. We went just after noon and there was no wait! Will definitely be back.

A bit pricey and a particularly small sandwich for what you pay but the hot turkey with cranberry is really good

Hole in the wall deli off the beaten path in Menlo Park right next to the Caltrain station. Friendly service, very relaxed atmosphere and quality sandwiches. Also a cool fridge with unique soft drinks like ginger ales and Italian sodas. Good place to grab lunch if you work in the area.

Straight up the best hot turkey sandwich I have ever had. No joke. This place is small, quick and easy and literally has the most delicious hot roast turkey sandwiches in the world!

It’s a good neighborhood deli. Freshly made at a fair price. The only place to eat are few tables outside so don’t go when it’s raining.

I am such an idiot. I sent my intern here to pick up the sandwiches. I told him I wanted ham. If I had went, I would have seen the turkey sandwiches are the speciality. Best roasted turkey sando ever. EVER!

I recommend using a card system where customers can check off what they want in their sandwich. I repeat myself serveral times but there are still mistakes in what I order.

Jan’s has some excellent sandwiches for meat lovers. The hot roast turkey was awesome, and they really pile it on, so the sandwiches are good and filling despite the very solid price. Avocado and cranberry sauce are great added extras, especially on the hot turkey. Great lunch spot.

Fantastic oven roasted turkey sandwiches. I prefer dark meat with lots of juice on dutch crunch with everything(no onions) plus cranberry sauce. They roast a gigantic turkey daily(I asked once and they said 35 lbs), so it’s super fresh and tasty. Reasonable prices and a plentiful assortment of chips and drinks. A great local find for lunch.

Landed here once on our way to San Jose for a concert. Tried the hot turkey sandwich because they have a sign outside that says famous hot turkey. It was great. Sadly everytime I have journeyed back they are closed for some holiday or they are out of turkey. This place is only open 10 – 3, I get here at 1230 and they are out of turkey already??? Make more turkey. You have a sign that says freaking famous hot turkey but halfway through service they run out? I will not be returning here again to just be let down.

Corner in the wall sort of place, Jan’s deli fills an empty niche in Menlo Park and it fills it well. If I’m in the mood for a deli sandwich and don’t feel like traveling out of Menlo, Jan’s is the spot I go to. The shop isn’t much to look at, but the owners are really nice and the sandwiches are great. They also have a wide assortment of bottled beverages, chips, and candy. A lot of the brands they sell you don’t see offered in your average eatery, which is a nice plus. The deli is known for their roast turkey sandwiches. They roast a whole turkey every morning and it really makes a difference. I always go for a roast turkey with avocado on dutch crunch. The prices are really cheap so if you’re in the area and need a quick bite, definitely worth checking out.

They actually serve real roast turkey, not cold slimy processed but real leftover Thanksgiving turkey. No frills and they make a good sandwich.

Its a good ol’ fashioned sandwich shop. Nothing flashy, no bells, no whistles, no indie music blasting, no modern metallic wallpaper, no sci-fi LED lights hanging from threads, and no reminding large lines of yupsters(Yuppie hipsters? No? Okay.) to move forward as they glare and scroll at their phones, oblivious to the large gap between them and the order counter… …let me catch my breath. Sandwich making to the point. What kinda meat do you want? What kinda bread do you want? What kinda crap do you want piled on it? I ordered a Reuben sandwich with a side of homemade potato salad. The Reuben was good… it was good. Nothin’ fancy, but filled my belly with what I’d expect. The potato salad was also… good. Thick, cold and had a very nice flavor to it. Service was friendly and quick. I arrived sometime around 1 in the afternoon, and I noticed there was a lot of items they were«out of». Customers were turned down for lack of dutch crunch, meatloaf and turkey. My guess is that they only prepare so much for the day and those are the most popular items.

My oh my! The sandwiches here are delish, affordable, and this deli is at the most convenient location. The bread, meats, and veggies are just so fresh. I’m a little upset that Jan’s doesn’t come up immediately in a google search for«sandwiches Menlo Park» because it should be top of the search results. This place is such a hidden gem!

Decent turkey sandwich, minus a lot of extras you’d get at subway. A little uneasy that sandwiches are made by unwashed hands, and got my credit card back w/mayo on it… lol. But not bad if you’re hungry :)

A great place with really flavorful turkey. Service is good, the turkey is great, and the free bread samples helps you make a decision on what roll to get. I don’t go here very often during lunchtime, but when I’m in Menlo Park, I almost always go. I recommend the turkey sandwich(of course) and the dutch crunch bread. Sourdough bread tends to be too hard to bite through, all the meat and other toppings slide out the back whenever I try to take a bite.

one of my top 10 sando spots. no frills mom n pop shop. anything with turkey and/or their sourdough bread will be killer– the turkey cranberry sourdough masterpiece I created made me eat to the point of discomfort, but the tryptophan quickly returned me to a happy place.

Can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet. I’ve been going here for YEARS and always referred to it as my «secret turkey sandwich place». I’ve only brought a few of my friends here, hoping to keep it somewhat on the down low. Every time I bring a friend, it’s a hit! Plain and short, you can’t beat the turkey sandwhich here. It’s like Thanksgiving leftovers any day of the year. They actually really cook and roast the turkey then shred it up into pieces and let the meat(yes, both light AND dark meat) marinate in the juices while waiting to be ordered up. You just can’t beat this sandwhich on a dutch crunch roll. The only thing that’s kinda sad is that they have limited amounts of the turkey, so you better try to beat the lunch rush that’s always imminent.

We were moving on Fri. and STARVING for lunch. I didn’t want anything too heavy, so, after reading the reviews for this place, my husband decided to grab us sandwiches here. I was SO happy they were able to make me a roast turkey sandwich with WHITEMEATONLY! It was warm, filling, and satisfying, without being a massive million calorie lunch bomb. I rarely get sandwiches out, since i make them at home. BUT, in a situation like moving, this place worked out well. I also had bite of my guy’s meatloaf sandwich, and it was tasty as well. I really liked that the sandwiches were warm, and tasted homemade. If i was craving a warm roast turkey sandwich, i would totally come back here.
