It’s a nice facility and the staff is good but waits can be long. This is the best option I have found in the Merced area but there aren’t many to choose from

I used to call it my annual smash-​o-​gram but no longer. Melissa snaps on her purple latex gloves, explains everything as she is doing it, and makes sure to position you so there is no extra skin being pulled during the compression process. With Melissa at the controls: NO DISCOMFORT WHATSOEVER.
Well, other than the usual, hey, my boob’s out there in the wind and an unfamiliar person is handling it. If you can get past that, they try to make it as spa-​like as possible, with heated deodorant removal (before) and application (after) wipes, clean uncluttered surroundings, and a squishy couch if you have to wait, which I have never actually used. No waiting.
If you abosolutely must have your boobs smashed — and every woman does after a certain age — El Portal Imaging Center in Merced is the place. Ask for Melissa.

This place is AMAZING! Today I had an appointment, I needed a chest
X-​Ray, I was really scared, nervous, but as soon as I walk in all the female staff had a big smile, they made me feel better, they answered all my questions. When the male staff called my name and took me back to the X-​Ray room he was really nice, kind and helpful. El Portal Imaging Center staff treats all their patients with respect, I have to go back and get a CT, next time I am NOT going to be nervous or scared thanks to the kind staff. Thank You!
