Any agent can sell houses in a hot market. You can tell the great agents from the average ones by how they do in down markets. Great agents are busy even in slow markets. Jay knows it all. If you are a seller, he has amazing connections to get buyers to your house, even in slow markets. In a hot market, he will guide you expertly through offers and knows how to negotiate effectively to get you the best offer.
If you are a buyer, he knows the areas so well and the houses in them that he can give you all of the pros and cons of all of the neighborhoods. And very important, in a hot market, he knows how to have your offer standout from the others (and it is not by price). In a slow market, he will make sure your offer is not so low that they buyer will reject it but not paying more than you should either.
All in all, I was and am very impressed with Jay. I am so glad I chose Jay to be my agent in buying a house. I know I could have not gotten a better house for my money and in a great neighborhood.

We didn’t want to pick a real estate agent to sell our house based on referrals from ‘friends whose aunt had a house on the market last year.’ So, we created a
site to help us decide. We posted photos of our market-​ready house and a letter asking interested agents to email us URL’s which demonstrated how they used the internet to sell homes. We are still in the process of interviewing the three top candidates but hope to sign an agreement with a listing agent this week. My wife and I are both physicians who just moved to Seattle. We were using zillow to look at houses and began reading reviews for real estate agents… and that’s how we found Jay! Jay is an outstanding real estate agent who is easy to talk to, communicates well, and is always reachable and responds promptly. He’s lived his whole life in Seattle so he knows everything there is to know about this city. Jay took us to see almost 100 houses. He doesn’t try to convince you to buy every house you see. He wants to help find the perfect house for you. He would often point out both positive and negative things about houses that we hadn’t noticed or considered. We had a delay in closing on our house, and Jay was so understanding and helpful the whole time. Jay really provides a personal service and develops a relationship with his clients that can be life-​long. There is a very good reason that Jay Agoado is so highly rated and well-​reviewed on zillow… because he’s the best!
