Great, healthy food with the best salads. I even order their meals via Amazon Fresh and they arrive fresh and in great condition!

The guy who works here is super helpful & super nice. Their pizza is high quality ingredients and it tastes just how it looks. Not really a fan of the wine selections but overall I definitely would get pizza from here. It is take & bake, just FYI.

Good flavor, what little there was of it. I ordered half-n-half Pig ‘n Pear and the Sausage & Caramelized Onion. First of all, you would think a pizza with Onion in the title would have a fair amount of onions. Not so at Zaw, There were 9 small pieces that weren’t caramelized at all(it;s hard to call an onion that is red in color«caramelized’ which means that it’s just flat false advertising. Second, both halves had so few ingredients I was shocked. There was an equal amount of sausage as onions. Don’t be fooled by the pictures on their website — that’s definitely not what you’re going to get. The guys in the store were nice and the pizza had good flavor when you actually got a bite that had more than one ingredient(maybe 3 bites of the entire pizza). If you want more than the bare minimum, order from somewhere else.

We love Zaw! Great place to stop and get take-and-bake pizzas that are delicious. Tons of options, and everything we’ve had from the menu on the wall(suggested pizzas) has been great. We love the hunter gatherer… I don’t think I even knew what arugula was before eating this pizza, but man, it’s delicious! The pizza + other stuff(take-and-bake cookies, salad, wine…) deals are great too. Suggested wine pairings are tasty, and the wine is fairly cheap(and pre-chilled if needed). Prep area and waiting area are always clean and pleasant. A couple times we’ve been in, service has been backed up or computers have been down, but staff members are always plenty nice and try to accommodate. The best take-and-bake pizza joint around!

Not a huge fan and want to be. Pizza is soggy when you cook it and just doesn’t taste good. I wish it were better but it’s just not great

This Zaw place is a great all in one stop. I just picked up the Ironman salad for lunch and it was very good. Loaded with fresh spinach, red onion, bacon, cheese sun dried tomatoes:)))). This all sounds normal but getting it for 8 bucks puts it about 2 dollars less than the same size salad at Whole Foods. Mercer Island is not home to many nice places to eat at. Some may have the cosmetic appearance but either end up not up to par or over priced. Zaw is different, they just put great ingredients together and have a nice staff. All I needed was friendly service and honest ingredients, and I am a happy camper.(They have fremont beers and other local choices. Wine too.) I’ll be back to re post on my second visit some time this week.

I love Zaw’s seasonal pizzas and the fact that their ingredients are locally sourced. The topping combinations are always creative. I try to get the oddest sounding pizza, something that I could never image tastings good on a pizza, and bam it’s amazing… I’ve never had a bad tasting pie. A few things to watch out for — depending on who is making your pie you could get a smaller pizza… I found that sometimes they don’t stretch out their dough enough and then your toppings are slim and you get a doughy center. Also, if you point out this issue I’ve had a few eye rolls at the Mercer Island location… Bonus– If you sign up for their newsletter they offer great deals from time to time.

Pretty good pizza, a bit high priced for take and bake, but they use high quality ingredients, so seems worth it.

Since ‘Zaw has been offering Stocking Stuffers, I’ve been buying them for friends, family, and co-workers. It’s a terrific offer and a great move by ‘Zaw. Unfortunately, each year I and/or the people I gift the Stock Stuffers to have issues redeeming them. When I ran into issues again at the Mercer Island location this year, I emailed ‘Zaw. About a week later I was pleased to receive a call from one of the Greg’s(founder/owner). We had a short chat and resolved the issue. Greg even offered to compensate me for my trouble. The next few times I used Stocking Stuffers at the Mercer Island location I ran into zero issues. They had appropriately re-trained the staff and it was a much more pleasant experience. It’s impossible to run a business and not run into issues. How a business handles the issues they encounter is what matters. ‘Zaw handled this issue well. Although it was not the first year I had this issue, I’m confident it will not happen in the future. Also…‘Zaw pizza and salad is still awesome and definitely still the best pizza on Mercer Island. I’m still a big fan.

Each time we order from zaw, we like it more. Maybe we’re just getting adventurous. The pizzas have all been yummy, except for the gluten free crust. The regular crust is thin and tasty. I loved the prosciutto, gorgonzola and pear. Kids love plain and pepperoni. At first I thought it was pricey, but the quality is so much better than the other island pizzerias, it’s worth it!

I really want to like Zaw given their local/organic focus but after 3 visits, I’m underwhelmed. Lets start at the gluten free crust — it comes out more bland(probably under salted) and rubbery than tasty or crispy(as its a thin crust). While the toppings are probably good, they can’t overwhelm the crust blandness. On the flip side the salads are really good.

This is my second review for this place… my first one was a steller 5 stars — but I am a bit disappointed today and thought my fellow neighbors should know why. This morning I ordered one medium pizza online to be picked up at 4pm. Fast forward to 1:15pm, and I was out running errands and thought — I wonder if I can pick up my pizza earlier? I’ve been there numerous times where I just stopped in, placed an order and waited for it — which takes about 20 minutes tops… So — I asked, can I come in and pick up my order(one pizza!) a little earlier about 2:45pm or 3pm? Guess what he said? Nope! Not possible… hmm. So I asked why can I just walk in off the street and order and get it in about 20 minutes? I am asking you to have it ready in 1.5 — 1.75 hours from now — seems reasonable, right? He said they couldn’t do it, too many orders ahead of mine. REALLY? I can tell you I’ve never been there where I’ve waited as a walk in for very long, and I am always getting pizza on a weekend night — probably their busiest days. It is really sad that on Mercer Island businesses never last and we have to consistently travel to Bellevue or Seattle to do any kind of shopping or eating. Get it right people — if you do you’ll thrive here, the attitude is not appreciated in a small community where word of mouth is everything. I just hope the owner sees this, because if it were my shop I wouldn’t tolerate employees making decisions that ultimately lead to bad reviews and less business.

I’m glad we didn’t have the same experience as some of these reviewers… our phone-in order was ready in 20 minutes, and was quite tasty. The cooking instructions worked out perfectly in our oven. This place isn’t foodie-gourmet(Serious Pie, I’m looking at you!) but it’s delicious and reasonably priced considering the ingredients involved. Not sure why our experience was so different from other folks… perhaps the shop manager saw the earlier reviews and retrained their staff? All I know is, we’ll be going back!

This pizza has so much potential with a great menu and good ingredients beyond the usual options. The problem is the cook at home part of the equation. We ordered thin crust — one with just cheese for the kids and one Arugula Patch for grown up taste buds. I followed the instructions, waiting for the oven to preheat, removing the cardboard, putting it straight on the oven rack(not using an oven tray), and only cooking one pizza at a time. Problem is, the top was done perfectly while the base was a shade above raw. If I cooked it any longer the top would have been burnt. We couldn’t eat more than one slice each. What a waste. I get that this is my oven that is the problem but it doesn’t make Zaw an option for me. I understand they are trying to stand out by being different to the standard pizza places but until they have an option to purchase a COOKED pizza, I won’t be returning. I wish there was a MOD Pizza on Mercer Island. I’d be there at least a couple of times a week with my kids! Now there is a business model — and as other reviewers have said, Zaw is super slow. Mod is crazy quick with long lines AND they cook the pizza.

Overpriced. Mediocre food, at best.(first visit, fortunately we called ahead and ordered this on our way home from skiing, so we were unaware they needed a long lead time as we told them we would be there in over an hour). Take and bake, should be quick, right? Well, I went in there a couple months back. They had 6 or 7 employees working(no joke). I spent a few minutes waiting my turn to order. I then spent a few minutes ordering. All seemed well. The cashier then informed me my Pizza(uncooked, of course) would be ready in 45 minutes!!! OK, maybe they have a huge order or something. I asked. I was told it was because they had 11 pizzas in front of me. With 6 employees making pizzas! I do not predict them lasting long. On a per employee basis, 11 pizzas, over 45 minutes equals 270 employee minutes divided by 11 pizzas, means they apparently need 24 employee minutes to make each uncooked pizza! Dominos(or any other delivery place) can make, cook, and deliver a pizza in less time than these people can put together a raw pizza. Suffice it to say, we bought a groupon good for three visits at 10 dollars a piece a while back, used one, due to having a 45 minute wait that I didn’t have time for were unable to use the second and I doubt we will bother trying to redeem the 2nd or 3rd ones.

I found this Zaw accidentally when I was visiting Stopskys a few weeks ago. The last time I was on Mercer Island before that was about 15 years ago when there were a few grocery stores and a couple of restaurants. Mercer Island has grown up since then. «Downtown» looks really cute with townhouses, and shops everywhere it actually is a destination now. This Zaw is a quick shot off the highway on my ride home, and a lot easier to get to for me than the one on Captiol Hill(you guys really need a West Seattle Branch). I like the organic ingredients, the ability to get wine and beer and the salads. With the ability to order online I can time this so it’s maybe a 10 minute detour and have a delicious fresh pizza for dinner.

I’m a pizza connoisseur, in my own mind. It’s my favorite. Last meal? Pizza with a side of jalapenos and a side of ranch. I tried Zaw on a whim, not expecting much, and ended up having one of the best pepperoni pizza’s I’ve ever had. I didn’t expect a fanciful, artisan, take-and-bake pizza place to have a good pepperoni. The menu has many interesting, artsy combinations using local, sustainable ingredients, blah blah blah. I don’t care. I know it’s not the popular attitude to have, but again, I don’t care. This led me to the Perfect Pepperoni. I like to order double pepperoni, personally. Good lord. It’s difficult to explain why it’s so amazing. The pepperoni, itself, is very, very flavorful. There is something to the sauce that I can’t put my finger on that really makes it. You can smell it when it cooks. When you taste it, there’s just something I can’t explain that is so amazing. Anyway, I highly recommend it. Worth the price.

Worst ever. Don’t Go!!! They manage to have 5 people working but no one wants to take an order or give you the time of day! Wrapping pizzas or chatting in the back take priority to serving new customers. At the end of the day its Pizza! Don’t go! I won’t ever again!!!
