We love the selection of steak tips but noticed today that the prices have gone up since we were here a couple of weeks ago.

We’ve been enjoying their steak tips, lobster salad and other yummies for years. Our experience last week was an unfortunate exception. We were enjoying a lovely morning in Meredith and stopped by to shop for a dinner party. We asked if they were going to have chocolate chip cookies today because they weren’t on the shelf. The lady behind the counter(owner?) said they were in the oven and would not be ready for an hour. We continued shopping and spent a lot of money(happily) and saw the cookies removed from the oven and set out to cool. After 10 – 15 minutes of cooling we asked if we could purchase them. She replied, NO, they had to cool. We said we would be delighted to take them as-is because we were going to eat them on the spot… all nice and warm from the oven. There was a brief dialogue with another employee and she huffed and puffed and tried«valiantly» to remove the cookies from the parchment lined sheetpan with her hands. She«struggled» and said she couldn’t do it. Hmmm. As a classically trained French chef and owner of a very large commercial kitchen and national food business, I found it bizarre that she: a. used her hands instead of a spatula to «try» to lift them b. would not simply tear the parchment paper if it was so difficult to remove them c. just would not sell them. Ultimately, no harm, no foul. We ventured to our favorite MOULTONFARMS and bought their cookies and other gorgeous items. But, we all value service and a bare minimum of courtesy, so I’m not sure why this unhappy person is behind the counter.

I stop at the Wine’ing butcher every Friday on my way home. Whether i pick up steaks, marinated tips or seafood the food I cook up from here is always superb. Recently I have been favoring the seafood such as the salmon, shrimp kabobs and scallops. The prices are high but the seafood is very fresh so much better than any of the area grocery stores. For a memorable steak and great advice on cooking methods visit the meat counter. Top chef quality butcher shop! In the deli are I am so please they carry Boars Head meats and a nice variety of specialty cheeses, but the Tomato Bruchetta is my favorite! I use this savory concoction on everything, even my omelets. Delicious! If I am lucky I catch a wine tasting. Sampling their picks and hearing about food pairings is great and the price of their wine is reasonable. Glad you moved into town Wine’ing Butcher.

Good meats, nice array of accompanying items, deli meats. I popped in out of curiosity and was quite pleased by the upbeat attitude and knowledge of the staff. The marinated chicken came out great. The prices are what is to be expected for a butcher, but you won’t be disappointed by the quality. pastries, imported dry/canned goods, beer, wine, sandwiches, some veggies They are located behind the Irving Gas Station

Place is so awesome! Best part — They will Kryo-Vac your meats if you ask. Only dabbled into the steak tips but they are all phenomenal. If I only had one pick: Garlic and Pepper Plus is A MUSTGO

I’m in love. The tips are beautiful and only 9.99 a pound all ready to throw on the grill. Bought some delicious greek marinated lamb was a hit with a friend who normally hates it. Super mild and well seasoned. Can’t wait to grab some tips, brocolli, and sweet potatoes for dinner tonight. *drool*

Not bad for a small town. I was impressed with what they have. The key is they don’t have a large selection, but what they have is good. Service and staff were good. I think marinated meats is their specialty. Te key west chicken was good. Trying their marinated ribs tonight.

I love this place! The selection of seafood and meats are the best. We recommend the tips. We have tried just about every flavor. The greek style lamb and the bison are great too. It is hard to find marinated bison tips. Their egg and potato salad is just like my Mom used to make except she added onion. The shrimp skewers have shrimp that are extra jumbo on them. They also have a nice selection of crusty breads, boar’s head cold cuts, and amazing desserts. I have only tried their to order take out on a couple of occasions but I was impressed both times. I have heard that their pizza is excellent! The only thing I wish they had was a seating area to use to enjoy takeout. Highly recommended!

I love this place. The pizzas are awesome. The marinated meats are the best too… we always get Terriyaki and the Firehouse marinated tips. The key west Turkey tips and chicken breasts are also fantastic.

So glad they came to the area. I’ve been up in Meredith for about 10 years and honestly the food leaves a lot to be desired. Clearly the owners know what this area has been lacking. Sometimes I just don’t want to pay $ 18 for a lobster roll that’s mostly filler, but I leave that for another review. The wine’ing butcher has a nice variety of meats ready for the grille and an abundance of other prepared foods. In addition they offer subs and pizza and have an extensive wine collection. I would give this place 5 stars but I’ve been in this place about 6 – 8 times and I would say that the staff seems a little unfriendly actually stuffy to put it blunt. In their defense I don’t think it’s them, I think the management may be a bit tough and they are on edge. It’s the best way I can describe it. I like to feel like I am wanted there as a patron, not just another number… and being friendly is never a bad thing…

I am so happy to finally have a gourmet deli so close! I was totally impressed at the selection of marinaded meats, salads, and pastries they had to offer, all at very reasonable prices! I also enjoyed the selection of various obscure food and wine items they had, I really would like to see them expand their selection of beers from across the country, starting with some anchor steam fat tire etc. or just some beer that case’n’keg doesn’t normally carry. The service is always very helpful and friendly and of course the food is always deli-cious!
