I was at Roti Boti again after long time. It was good to see that they have done some improvement to the décor and seating. Went to hangout with a bunch of friends for dinner buffet. They have a Ramazan buffet this time of the year. I have always liked the food here and this time as well the it struck the right taste buds. Grill, wings, chicken karahi, jalfrezi and Chilli chicken were perfect to spices and tender. Fruit salad, dahi bada and pakora were good too. Had a good time.

5 star for the food. They can do better by making the space more presentable. But this is Connecticut and if you are here and looking for good Pakistani food then you shouldnt be too picky about the space and ambience. You want authentic taste, eat here. I am from Lahore originally and trust me you dont know taste better than I. So, if i say they are 5 star for taste in this state– they really are.

Absolute trash eat here at your own risk. I ordered takeout and the chicken was literally all bones, i nearly choked… the pakora was tough like they used roots instead of veg, the samosas were frozen in the center, they didnt bring the rice i paid for, and tje naan wasnt even pre cut, just a gigantic circle of doughy half cooled bread. I would give this place negative stars if i could. Anyone who tells you this place is good jas ZERO taste for good food. Pure garbage.

Not sure why people praise this place so much. Very rundown place. Ordered samosa and chicken curry. The waitress brought a salad as an appetizer which had a good tasting dipping sauce. Samosa was good as well. It all started to go downhill when we were served our chicken curries. Now, I’ve been eating chicken curry for the past 7 years or so but have never tasted anything so bad. There were shattered bones in the curry sauce. The meet was not marinated. It didn’t even taste like chicken curry. When I expressed my dissatisfaction the waiter told me he will bring boneless curry. After few minutes, he brought new curry, and there were still bones in it! The chicken curry was priced at $ 12 and rice wasn’t even included. Had to buy it separately. The rice that was served was not a basmati rice(Traditional Indian rice) but tasted like some cheap microwaveable version of it. No spices of any sort in it. I spent $ 40 bucks for horrible tasting food. Never again. Anyone reading this, avoid this place at all costs.

If you want Indian food on the Berlin Turnpike, you have no option other than Roti Boti and Tabaq Masala. That said, head down the turnpike and into Wethersfield or Middletown if you want Indian food. You will most likely be disappointed if you go here(or Tabaq Masala). One positive: you’ll get a large, fresh side salad with your entrée free of charge. Otherwise, you’ll also be getting really, really greasy food. Vegetarian Indian dishes shouldn’t taste this unhealthy. And no vegetarian(or anyone else, for that matter) should have to witness, mid-dinner, a dead mammal(a lamb?) carted off a truck, through the front door and the dining area, into the back kitchen. This really happened! The atmosphere is already kinda dingy and uninviting, but that kind of thing is downright repelling. Finally, the service tend to be negligent to the point of being physically and mentally checked out, such as watching TV or texting, rather than checking in on customers. There are many better options.

This was the worst Indian food I’ve ever eaten. I absolutely love Indian food but when my family and I went there it was unfortunate that my kids had already gone to the buffet because I would have waked out! I decided to order off the menu which I looked over and then still decided not to eat there. I can’t believe this place is even in business!!!

I have heard about this place from friend and I went here twice and now learned that they serve excellent kabobs. I tried chapali kobob, shami kobob and biryani and Haleem. Biryani is average. Haleem was missing or very less quantity of grounded meat.

I am being fair by giving it 3 stars. The food was ok to be frank. It’s understandable that it is a buffet but I think the food should still taste fresh. Tasted old and was having stomach aches after. Overall it can be better but food had taste. Best of luck!!!

After a lot of waffling [curry waffles, anyone?], I ultimately decided on just three stars. Having some of the leftovers tonight confirmed my primary concern, which is as follows: The Chicken Cholay is nearly impossible to eat. There’s nothing wrong with whole bone-in chicken. And there’s nothing wrong with lots of tasty sauce on that chicken, which the Chicken Cholay certainly has. Unfortunately, what we were served was a brown curry sauce with a veritable minefield of bone fragments and gristle. It was like oatmeal with a handful of nails thrown in it. Had the bone-in chicken stayed intact or boneless chicken been used, it would have been excellent. But when every bite of a dish comes with the constant fear of a dental emergency, it can only be rendered a culinary failure… in any culture. Everything else was very good, for the record. A spicy yellow lentil dish, Naan served whole(and not cut into wedges like a damn Philistine), crispy vegetable samosas, a complementary vegetable salad to start the meal… There’s no ambiance here, but it’s a crappy strip mall in Meriden… we knew what we were getting into. Still, they definitely know how to make tasty meals here, and in very large portions. But sometimes one glaring error can bring the house of cards crashing down. I will come back to Roti Boti… after all, it’s four minutes drive from my house. But my next visit will require a little more scrutiny over the ingredients.

We had a great meal of Goat Curry, Chicken Biryani, Channa Masala, a couple of Tandoori Roti, and some Chai. The flavors of all the dishes were great. Service was quick and everything was piping hot. The menu contains fairly detailed descriptions of most dishes, so even if you have little experience with Pakistani food you won’t be lost.

Traveling through CT, I called to see if they have halal. An hour later, I called to check if they’re still open or not. The guy answered the phone and said: «You called here before you IDIOT!» This is their service by phone, I don’t want to know about their service and food in person. No thanks!

This place is very good, and I am surprised at some of the negative reviews. As a Pakistani, I was very pleased by the authentic taste. The food tasted almost home-cooked. The beef behari kebab and the(goat) karahi gosht are as authentic and tasty as any I have ever eaten. I highly recommend those. Ultimately, this is a PAKISTANI restaurant, so if you went in looking for tasteless North American-ized Indian food complete with the annoying(and I suspect manufactured) spicy-smelling ambiance, you’ll be disappointed. Great choice of venue for sampling some meat-heavy Pakistani cuisine though. The service at such places can at best be average, so you can just factor that into the tip. Décor I tend not to notice, as I care more about the food at such joints. And who takes a date to a mid-range South Asian restaurant?
