Sonja’s been cutting my hair since ’99 and I’ll follow her anywhere. However, Stem is the best, all-around salon she’s been. I’m on a first-name basis with a few people there and enjoy going in there because, not only does Sonja do a wonderfully consistent job, but the atmosphere is open, modern, intelligently-designed and inviting. Great location right off I-35, and the support staff is great!
Since I couldn’t find a male review on Stem’s new website, I wanted to make sure there is one now, so guys aren’t apprehensive about Stem if they’re looking for a new, solid place to get their hair cut.

First time visit thanks to reviews from my fellow Unilocaler’s. Had been looking for a fun new salon to try out, and this was it!
As you enter this trendy little place the receptionist promptly greets you and offered a beverage while you wait. There was plenty of comfy setting available. Loved the «see through» wall filled with products.
I was lucky enough to work with Lisa Lamb, hairstylist extrordinare! She was fabulous, so upbeat and truly took the time to help me pick out a fun new cut. She rocked out her new sheers and gave me a cut that definitely gave my hair volume! Enjoyed getting to try new products and hear how each worked… and dare I not forget, the scalp and neck massage was wonderful!
Great overall experience! Tip: if you refer a friend not only do they get $ 20 off… but you will too! Awesome deal!

I have been coming here for several years now. I’ve had my nails done, my hair colored and cut and waxing done on my face. I’ve never had a bad experience and have always been overly satisfied. The staff is kind and the stylists are professional, fun and there to meet your needs and desires 100%. I use to bounce around from stylist to stylist due to the spontaneity of when and what I wanted done with my hair. I’ve probably seen 5 – 6 different people and have always had a great cut, color and style. I’ve recently been seeing Laura Hardy on a regular basis. She is phenomenal and worth the minimal wait to see her.
The salon is clean and unique in its appearance. When making an appointment I’ve most always been able to get in week of. Coffee and water is available upon waiting. The product line smells wonderful and works well with my hair.
