I feel as if the burrito scene is dying down, for a small little shack in Merrick this place is very solid. Never really packed, quick service. They bring the food to you and we’re welcoming but didn’t talk much. Now let’s get to the burrito, I came to this place about four months ago and the burrito size was definitely smaller, came here today and the burrito was ten times bigger. The quality of the meat was alright nothing spectacular but left me delighted not to the point where I was uncomfortable. The menu has a wide variety of choices too which is nice to see for a burrito place. This location has a reputation where stores go out of business quickly, hopefully this place stays around. Definitely my place for a nice burrito from now on.

So I walked in to try a new taco place and waited to be acknowledged. Figured I would try the tacos. They will only give you three of the same kind. Were not apologetic about it. So I will not be trying the tacos.
For a new place they did not seem to care about losing a brand-​new customer.

OK, I’ve been here twice, and will go again. One thing: the food, to my taste, was not salty in the least — I ate a large grilled chicken burrito and didn’t feel as though I was going to burst. As others have mentioned, the staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. You have to wait a little bit for your meal, but I’m OK with that, as I like it. It is a good, simple meal that is reasonably priced with excellent service in the neighborhood. What more do you need?

Grabbed lunch from this place as I was in a rush. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The two women working were very friendly. They took my order for the chicken bowl and made it right away. They gave me plenty of chicken and that was definitely a plus. The prices are pretty good, too. I really liked the flavor of the food and would definitely recommend it. Will be visiting this place again, soon!

Very delicious food. The customer service is great and very friendly. For a new quick stop for food, it is awesome. With all the competition on Merrick Road, and with all of the variety that it has, its nice to see a Mexican place open up to break the mold. Enough of the pizza joints and chinese. I will be going to Taquitos Grill more often for sure.

Just happened to stop by this place on my way home one night and I’m so glad I did! Staff was super friendly and the steak burrito bowl I got to go was delicious — and came with guacamole at no added charge (imagine that!). Food was very fresh and I didn’t even wait 5 minutes. Definitely going back to try some of the other menu items!

I had the chicken burrito and was highly disappointed. I enjoy Mexican food and felt that Taquitos was lacking in flavor. There were limited toppings and my burrito instantly fell apart once I started to eat it. I don’t think I will go back anytime soon.

I was really excited to order from this place after looking through their menu. It seemed like they had a good deal of variety, plus they were willing to pack a lot into their burritos. So, I called up, ordered a chicken burrito, and brought it home. I spent less than a minute inside the place, but the staff seemed very friendly and approachable despite that limited time frame. However, when I got back home and opened up my food, I noticed that my burrito was cold in a few places and lukewarm in others. Now, I’d arrived a tad late. They told me my food would be ready in ten minutes. It took me about fifteen to get there. Even still, that’s not enough time to excuse cold/​lukewarm food. So, whatever. I’m hungry, I paid for this. I heat the thing up and lo-​and-​behold it actually tastes pretty good. I’m willing to be forgiving if, ultimately, the food is good. I know these guys just opened up, and sometimes there are going to be bumps in the road when you’re a new face. It happens.
But then I got to the guacamole, and that was what really turned me off. I popped the lid off the container and noticed it looked more like avocado soup than actual guac. No tomatoes or peppers to be seen, and, obviously, a very liquid-​y consistency. That had me worried, but I tried it anyway. Probably should have listened to my gut. It was garbage. Really just inedible. So, while it looked like avocado soup, it tasted more like jalapeño soup, which was not what I wanted. Good guac has a good combination of flavors, not just a single, overpowering one. It also needs to have a good consistency. It’s supposed to be on the chunkier side, at least in my experience.
So, all in all, I can’t honestly give this place a great rating. It probably deserves a one-​star review, but since it’s new, I’m being lenient. While the staff was nice, I ultimately didn’t see enough care put into the food or the food preparation to warrant returning here in the near future. That said, I think the place shouldn’t have much trouble staying afloat. It’s right near Calhoun High School, and Mepham High isn’t a very far drive, either. Teenagers are willing to put basically anything into their stomachs, so they’ll probably enjoy this and help keep the business coming.

Have wanted to eat here but have not been able to find a website or menu anywhere. It was easier to order from the other ones around that have used their brains and put their business on line. Read the other reviews and the food sounds good. Looking forward to trying it. Would be awesome if I could see a menu somewhere

For a restaurant still going through a soft opening they are doing a good job with the foot traffic coming into the restaurant.

Looking for a few more weeks once their liquor license is approved, they will have beer and home made sangria!
I see lots of good things coming in their near future. Nice to have you guys in town! Consider a delivery option and a Sunday Football menu :)

The place just opened last week. After countless delis have been in this building it was nice to see a local Mexican place open up. Ordered a beef burrito came with all the fixings… rice beans cheese tomato lettuce sour cream and guac (no it wasn’t extra) all for 7 bucks. It was great… food was so fresh will definitely be going back!
