A Refreshing Paws

Love these ladies. Always do a good job, and very very nice. Just be sure to be clear about what you want. The prices are very reasonable, too.

Our dogs have been going to Jeanie’s for years now and would never go anywhere else. The dogs always come back looking and smelling great.

Unfortunately, I had to bring the family’s 4 cats in to the groomer because they somehow got fleas and we were unable to bath them all ourselves in our home. I called A Refreshing Paws and spoke to a woman who said her and her partner groomed cats and also did flea baths (not very common). She gave me a descent quote and they were available the day we needed to get the cats groomed, so I booked the appointment.
My mom dropped the cats off and was horrified from the very beginning. Both women were in the office smoking cigarettes at the reception counter and yelling at all the dogs (there were 8 – 10 little dogs running around) to «shut up» and «go away». The cats were then taken crate by crate and placed on top of larger DOG crates in the grooming area — which was the size of a one car garage at most.
Five hours later, we hadn’t gotten a call, but went over, hoping to pick the cats up anyways. To our surprise, one of the cats was in her crate on the reception desk by herself. One of the groomers came out and told us they couldn’t shampoo her because she was too aggressive, however, they didn’t bother to call and let us know so we could arrange other services. The other cats (now only 3 were actually groomed) weren’t even finished! They women were still combing them out and letting their fur dry… In fact, as one of the women was grooming one of the cats, the grooming table was surrounded by loud, barking, yippee dogs; I’m actually surprised the cat didn’t have a heart attack…
I can’t say that the groomers themselves, despite their language and nasty habits, weren’t pleasant, I will say that they should have NEVER agreed to groom the cats in the same, small area that all those dogs were running around in. I’m not sure how they do with dog grooming — but those of you looking for a cat groomer, I would NOT recommend bringing them here.
