Don’t let the outside fool you. Best gyro in town… out of town, in general. Not to mention, super friendly staff. Thumbs up!

I have lived in this part of FL my whole life and this is still the #1 fast food place I visit. I remember as a little kid coming here with my mother on the way to visits my grandmother. The owner and my family became super close. My father(a man of all trades) even helped with some of the upkeep of the restaurant. The restaurant as a child was a wonderful cultural experience and the food was never ever bad as many times as I’ve eaten there. I would still go here over most places in the area. I’ve begun traveling a lot because of military life and I still cannot find a gyro or general Greek food place that beats this yummy little hole in the wall. I’ll forever visit sinbads when I’m in the area.

Nice people, but average food. Too much sauce on the chicken platter. Not much gyro meat on the sandwich. Okay experience.

If you are looking for authentic Arabic food this is the place to go! I drove by daily and finally decided to give them a try, I was pleasantly surprise to know that also they make a lot of dishes like Labne, stuffed zucchini, couscous just to name a few«off menu», just call them a couple days in advance. I’m so excited I found this place!

This place is seriously amazing! Don’t let the exterior scare you away. I can honestly say they had the best gyro, and falafels I have ever had! Their baklava is also awesome! I have both gotten take out from here, and eaten on site. The outdoor seating is by no means fancy, but that doesn’t matter when you’re eating such great food! I come here when ever I’m craving Mediterranean food, and have never been disappointed.

If you are into the whole«Raunchy Dive That Makes Killer Food» thing, you’re gonna love this place. But if you are all about a thematic ambiance, you’d best stay far away from here. Unilocal brought me here, as I was in the area, and was looking for something quick. I read the other reviews, and it sounded like just what I was after, so I had an idea what to expect. It is a raunchy old shack that must have been some drive-thru in a time long past. I have no idea when it became Sinbad, but it was long enough ago that the original Sinbad sign is faded and peeled like an abandoned building from the 70’s. Rather than fixing it, they just hand-painted another Sinbad sign on another part of the building. The original lighted sign on the street has long since deteriorated, and rather than replace it, they just took out the sign and left the big empty sign frame on the street. You walk up to the drive-thru window, and immediately notice an old STOP sign that was there when it was a drive thru, but since it is no longer necessary, they simply covered the word STOP with masking tape. On the order window, there are all sorts of home-made signs and a big printed menu board with more taped over hand hand-written«corrections». And what would a place like this be without christmas lights loosely hand-strung around the window! A look inside the window reveals a man and a woman that are clearly the owners of this fine establishment, cooking away. I was greeted by the man, who was extremely friendly. We placed our order, which consisted of Gyros(lamb and chicken) and Hummus, then walked over to the seating area, which sits on top of a few parking spaces in the parking lot. Mismatched tables and chairs that are more or less a graveyard for your old patio furniture, with a big blue weathered plastic tarp for shade. After a fairly long wait(about 15 minutes), our meal was ready. We had both chicken and lamb Gyros, which were hands down the best we have ever had in Brevard county. Right up there with some of my favorite places in L.A. As good as what I have had in Greece. Besides being fantastic, they were very large!!! Our hummus was in a large tin container, and we were blown away by the quantity AND quality. The pita served with our hummus was not fresh-baked(what do you expect?), but he gave it to us in the original bag from the supplier, which was a local Orlando bakery. It was absolutely excellent across the board. Again, I absolutely love dives. When they are good, they are great. And this one does not disappoint. So if you are about the food and not the décor, I highly recommend this place.

This place was ok but not great; based on other reviews I was expecting better. The falafel we had was dry, and the gyro and the hummus were passable but nothing special, the same you’d get anywhere. The Turkish coffee had good flavor but was very week. All in all it was just ok

Pretty good middle eastern food for a shack on the side of the road. Came during lunch hour and there were people waiting before me but somehow I got served before they did. Well I can’t complain. The hummus is freshly made, and the gyro was packed with yummy lamb. When I get a craving of Middle Eastern food I’ll definitely be back.

This is awesome! Guy was really friendly and helpful. Gyro was huge. Don’t get the platter with fries and salad as i couldn’t finish it. Do save room for the baklava. We also bought the spinach pie for later at the owners suggestion. Really quite good! Best eaten in car or at home as outdoor seats are sketchy.

Pretty damned good gyro plate for a ‘restaurant’ that operates out of a drive-thru only shack. While my order was to go, there is a ‘shaded sit down area’ nearby. Can take a while if there are several customers at the same time, but the food was worth it. Can’t wait to try something else off of the menu!

I like a good gyro. If I’m running errands on Merritt Island and I find myself looking for something to eat, instead of fast food, I’ll pull in here. They’ll make your food specific to your needs, so don’t be shy to ask. I like a gyro(my Greek friends say it’s pronounced ‘YOUR-OWE’, kind of tucking in the ‘R’) with feta and no tomatoes. I have never been disappointed. Life is too short to go to McDonalds when you can eat at places like this.

In my 5 years as a professional belly dancer and eating my own body weight in Middle Eastern and Greek food ten times over, I’ve noticed a curious phenomenon in Middle Eastern cuisine: the best Middle Eastern food comes from the quirkiest restaurants. Case in point: Sinbad’s is a peculiar yellow castle-shaped building only large enough to house one cook; I’m addicted to their food.(My other favorite Middle Eastern restaurant is a Turkish kebab house attached to a Citgo gas station back home in CT — alas, I digress!) Everything at Sinbad’s is fresh, flavorful and delicious as Middle Eastern food should be, especially their kefta kebab and falafel sandwiches, which are served with tahini sauce, veggies and crisp Lebanese pickles. The hummus is great and it’s a HUGE portion. I also love to order a Greek salad with a few stuffed grape leaves on top — this isn’t on the menu, but ask for it if you’re craving a Big Salad! Sinbad’s food is consistently good and I’ve never ordered anything off the menu I didn’t like. Even my boyfriend, who isn’t the biggest fan of Mediterranean cuisine, loves the gyros. To top it all off, the owner is one heck of a cool guy. He lends me his Oum Kalsoum CD’s and always makes sure my pug has something to snack on.(Buddha says«thank you» for the rainbow sherbet!) Also good to know: Sinbad’s caters! If you’re having a Mid-East themed party, they will do a bang-up job on the food.

Give this place a chance. If you live in the Merritt Island you have probably passed by this little yellow building off Courtenay Pkwy(across from Burger King) a thousand times, whether you knew it or not. Maybe you thought it couldn’t possibly be good, or maybe you didn’t even know it existed, but it’s good and worth checking out. There is no indoor seating but there are a couple of tables outside. This is really a «to-go» kind of place. I’ve had the falafel sandwich(really a pita) and the chicken kabob sandwich(pita). Both of them are delicious. The chicken kabob is marinated in an Italian dressing-ish type sauce and then a creamy yogurt based sauce is added to the veggies. Next time I go I plan on trying the chicken gyro with yogurt sauce. The owner(Marvin) is a nice guy and he will work to customize your order as much as possible. Everything is made to order, so don’t worry about your food not being fresh if the place doesn’t look busy. Also, don’t be afraid to ask about the differences between menu items and sauces because the descriptions on the menu all sound similar. Try skipping McDonald’s or BK and give Sinbad a chance.
