Performance Bicycle

Not a very good first impression. Called to see if they could do some work on my wheels/​tires.
Guy on phone, «sure we have a mechanic on duty.»
Me, «can you do it today?»
«Yes bring them in.»
I bring tires/​wheels in.
«Oh you’ll have to leave them»
Me, «but you told me you could do it today.»
«Yeah but we’re too busy».
Me mentally as I am leaving, «do I really want to deal with a business that doesn’t do what they say they will».
I will go back to give them another chance, but not necessarily with something I would need to take their word on. It would have been just as easy for them to say, we’ll TRY to do it today but we will have to see how busy it becomes.
But he didn’t say that, he got me in the store… don’t know this to be fact but I’m kinda thinking that was his intention. If so, I don’t like that business model.
I did go somewhere else that did the work that same day. Ended up spending $ 200.00.

Amazing team at this location… Vaughn, Todd and the entire staff have helped me and my wife while we started getting into biking. They are such a joy to work and know their stuff. Great prices, great people and great store!

There are a lot of bike shops around and I visited most of them while looking for a new bike. The personnel here are top notch. Good prices and great service.

I was working on my bike on Sunday and I realized I needed to buy another cone wrench. It was 5:30pm and Performance Bicycle was the only bike shop around that was still open according to google maps, so I jumped in my car and rushed over there as quickly as possible. I don’t live very close to the shop. I arrived there at 5:50, 10 minutes before closing time. You would think 10 minutes is more than enough time to run in and grab a cone wrench and be on my way. Not the case, the doors were already locked. They closed early.
What good is it to stay open later than the rest, if you don’t stay open as late as you say you will? Thanks for wasting my gas and time on the long drive, I will not be back!

Several staff members helped us pick a pair of bikes. We’re occasional bikers who had to take our time and try out a few options before deciding on the perfect match. They have a great testing area behind the store and are happy to get a model you’re interested in ready to try out. Their recommendations and service oriented attitude sealed the deal for us. We didn’t look anyplace else because we were so impressed.
They also helped us pick appropriate accessories and tuned our purchases so we could use them right away. We’ve been doing just that!

Went here for the first time because my wife was getting into cycling. When I first stepped into the place I was amazed at the selection that they had. They do it all here. Are you shopping for a bike, need a helmet, biking shoes, or simply needed to get your bike tuned up for the road? This is a full stop bike shop. They have multiple shops throughout the valley so I’m sure you can find one close to you. We will be using this shop for many years to come to pick up any items related to bicycling.

This shop gets all my stars. Even thought it was a busy week due to the holidays, the whole staff was most helpful and attentive while addressing issues on two of my bikes. They made awesome recommendations and truly excelled above the competition down the road near Target — which we shall not name here.

Performance bike always has great customer service and this performance bike is no exception!!!
But they exceed any other with their timely and quick bike repairs most things done on the spot while you wait!!!
I have been pleasantly surprised each time I need something repaired how quick it happens!

Went in for my first set of clip in pedals and road bike shoes. Kirby welcomed me the second I walked in the door, and assisted me until I walked out a happy customer.
I picked a pair of shoes that looked good, and then he helped make sure they were the right size and fit my needs. Not only that, but he informed me of a sale that was starting that was so new it wash;t advertised yet, and I was able to get my shoes for about half the price.
Onto the pedals, he talked me through the different styles, and the pro’s and con’s for each one. We compared the prices versus the value, and led me to the best pedals for my needs.
With the sale completed, the service didn’t stop. Kirby and Jonathan teamed up to get the cleats installed onto my new shoes, and made sure I was good to go. What would have taken me a good thirty minutes at home, took them 5. Another three minutes when I got home to unscrew the old pedals, and install the new ones, and now I am literally ready to roll.
The shop has a great selection, the guys there are knowledgeable, and actually use the products they sell. I will be back here for all my biking needs.

Went to get road tires for my mountain bike. Good prices, and really helpful. I thought it would be free installation…$ 10 a tire! $ 20 on a 15 minute job, I’ll do it myself!

I have a great experience with have my two road bikes maintained by this shop. Very satisfied with all the great service.

Great customer service. Took my wife bikes to get a new set of tires and they installed them on the spot. Also good prices on lots of gear. Only wish they carried some other brands.

The variety of products, price, and customer service earned my confidence and loyalty. I have visited this store on Southern and Power in Mesa so many times that my wife jokingly refers to it as my second home.
I met the store manager, Brandon, at the grand opening and rode a group ride with him shortly after. He is very knowledgeable about bicycling products and technique, friendly and professional as the store manager, and a positive influence/​advocate for the bicycling community in Arizona.
My bicycle was recently stolen from my garage. After calling around the valley for a similar model resulted in negative results; I went to the store late in the afternoon, expressed my distress, my preferred bicycle characteristics, and my desire to get back on the saddle right away. Brandon suggested a couple models but his store didn’t have my size. It was near closing time but instead of offering to order it and make me wait, as other shops had done, he drove across town to pick up the bike at another store and offered to fit me the next morning. As promised, he fitted me the next morning and I was riding that evening. The bike fits like a glove and I’ve never been more comfortable in the saddle. No regrets!
This store and staff consistently go the extra mile to meet customer needs and my personal experience earned this store 5 stars and confident referrals.

I went to the new Performance Bicycle in Mesa. I had the best experience. The sales rep. B. Davidson was phenomenal, he was very knowledgable and took the extra time to help me make the best choice — not the highest dollar choice but the best performance product for the best price. This service level demonstrates they care about their customer not just their bottom line. This type of service creates customer loyalty — I’ll be shopping here for all my bike gear from now on!
