Be careful anyone who’s children are almost 13 and in MISD. Your children have no rights and will be punished for things out of their control under the guise «zero tolerance». The school doesn’t follow their own code of conduct. They pick and choose what best suits them, not the child. Stay away from any push towards medicating your children per their recommendations, be it ADHD or ODD. Any 504 committee or special assistance they promote, you should question. They are not medical doctor’s nor certified to counsel your children and should not give any advice to that effect. They will steadily distance your parental rights and alienate your child from you and other peers under the false promise of hope and aid. They destroyed both sons academic life and also my family. Question, document and record everything they tell you and retain a lawyer. Make it clear up front that your children in no capacity should sign anything without your presence. The city on a whole is on the decline foreclosures, rent houses, etc… I moved away at a loss to protect my family from the school system and the neighborhood…
