The most selfish, unprofessional cheat in the catering business. Don’t lose your contract!!! My now wife and I booked Jose’s company to cater our wedding and the rehearsal dinner. We were invited to the Elk Lodge where his wife and him prepared a great meal with over flowing plates. He said this would be how full the plates are for every guest. We chose chicken fried steak for rehearsal and pork chop for the wedding. We were impressed with how affordable the quote was and booked right away. A few weeks before the wedding, suddenly the price almost doubled, with Jose saying the price agreed upon on the contract is crazy and there’s no way he would have quoted that cheap. We showed our contract and thought it was settled. Rehearsal dinner was fine, despite not having as large portions as promised. The true swindling was at our wedding. We agreed to 155 guests, but of course several don’t show up. The pork chops were supposed to have potatoes, bacon wrapped asparagus and rolls as sides. Out of only 125 guests, 1⁄3 didn’t get ANYFOOD!!! People left our wedding early because the were hungry. The food was terrible. We were so embarrassed. It gets worse. My wife’s mother wrote the check wrong accidently. Jose calls, demanding the right amount. Never once apologizing for ruining the food. He then admits that since he quoted us wrong, he purposefully shorted us to make money! What kind of person, especially a business owner, ruins someone’s wedding to make a few dollars. He calls my mother-in-law, screaming and demanding the $ 200 or he threatened a lawsuit. Tired of dealing with the crook, she paid him. Do not be lured in by affordability and his initially nice demeanor.
