I just tried this place for lunch today because I had no idea what it was. The advertising was catchy, though and it seemed like a neat concept. Anyway, the menu offers more than just macaroni and cheese. They have hot dogs, grilled cheese and what they call their«sammies.» These are sandwiches such as «The Elvis,» which is a PB&J and banana sandwich and a random offering of other sandwiches that I haven’t tried. But let’s get back to the mac, shall we? It’s a build-your-own kind of thing, really. Choose your size: micro, small or regular(which regular was plenty filling by itself), your general toppings: jalapenos, crumbled ritz crackers, broccoli, panko & parmesan, etc., choose your bigger topping: grilled chicken, turkey or other meat and vegetarian protein type options, then choose your premium topping, if you desire: tex mex blend of pico and jalapeño, bbq brisket and other goodies. Already sounds amazing, right? Well, it gets better. You see, everything is totally fresh! The pasta, cheese, toppings… everything. My chicken was grilled right there and it was absolutely delicious. So, the place looks fast food-ish, but it is anything but that. The pasta is pretty much cooked to perfection, the cheese sauce is the perfect consistency, the toppings are all wonderful. I really cannot wait to lunch there again and look forward to building a completely different bowl of max on my next trip. It’s almost the same feeling you have after trying a yogurt bar for the first time, ya know?
