This locally owned Holiday décor store is located on Veterans Blvd. across from Clearview Mall. The place is overloaded with all sorts of stuff to add to your festive holiday home look. From yard ornaments to party supplies, decorations, costumes, some gifty things and of course lots and lots of Christmas décor. I found out from my neighbor that they sell bulk packs of C-7 and C-9 replacement light-bulbs for my favorite style of old-school string lights. I now have a constant source of bulbs to keep my porch and patio lit up properly.

I think the name Christmas Village is more than a little deceiving and hopefully it doesn’t hurt their businesses bottom line. This store is truly a year round holiday«go to» place. I think they do put a different banner out over the store’s name depending on the time of year. I recently discovered it’s also known as Toomey’s. Whatever the next holiday is, they’ll have it fully covered. I happened to stop by in preparation for St. Patrick’s day. They don’t have quite the extensive collection of Beads by the Dozen or Jefferson Variety but what they do have going for them is location! Right across from Clearview mall, they are certainly much easier to get to then some of those other places. Prices are pretty comparable with the competition and the sales staff is very friendly and helpful. I was even brought in to a conversation the sales lady had with a customer regarding another place she could go to find what she’s looking for. That’s truly the mark of a good sales person. People will remember how helpful someone is, even if they ultimately weren’t able to sell them the product, it will ensure they return and speak highly of your service.

Christmas Village. Mardi Gras Village. Halloween Village. Saints Village. All Decorations Village. This place is a definite go to for decorations, costumes, Saints paraphernalia, Christmas décor… A veritable decoration/costuming heaven. Areas in the store are dedicated to themed items i.e. Halloween, Christmas, Saints wears. The Halloween section is remarkably scary, I scare easy, but even my non-easily scared companion was startled at the Halloween section. The Saints section is filled with Who Dat gear, old & new… Hard to find & never before seen items. I wanted to buy one of everything… But I didn’t. But what I will do is BEBACK for any & all my costuming/decorating needs!!!

Every time I stop by here, it is always a pleasant experience. It’s small, a little crowded inside, but the staff are always very friendly and they carry a lot of seasonal stuff without the chaos of big box retailers. They carry Halloween, Mardi Gras, Christmas, etc. I stopped in here the day before Halloween in hopes of finding a witch hat for cheap just to wear to work. The store was empty, and they had a LOT of costumes available and priced very reasonably. It was all organized too– a shock considering it was a day before Halloween. I got a cute orange and black witch hat for less than $ 5. We stopped in searching for a Christmas tree stand, as Target was already sold out. The lady working was so helpful and friendly– the only one they had was a really nice iron stand, but it was a little more than we were looking to spend($ 29.99). She gave us suggestions on where else to look. How friendly is that?
