I used my secret spot to get to this parade 20 minutes prior to start but I must say the crowds were NUTS! There were lots of kids and people which is to be expected. The throws were minimal but tat might have been because of the location we were at and they weren’t really throwing much. There are kids throwing from the floats coupled with some adults, the usual horses, Farhad Grotto car parade, truck band floats, basically a typical Metry parade. Catch of the parade, since they weren’t throwing much it had to be the stuffed dog.

This was the first parade we attended this Carnival season. It’s the first time I have seen the Little Rascals parade, and I’ll admit, it was pretty awesome. This is a childrens’ krewe, so they are a little slow on the throws — I’m sure their parents hammered it into their minds to be conservative. However, it was a fun, colorful, diverse parade… marching bands, floats, horses, VW beetles, etc. Since it is early in the season, it isn’t too crowded. It is also a fairly tame crowd, since there are kids in the parade and kids watching the parade. Definitely good for families. There is plenty of space on the back roads behind Vets to park, and tons of space along vets to set up for parade watching. Of course, the pre-parade and post-parade traffic along Vets and Esplanade is horrible. This is expected with ANY Metairie parade. I would definitely give it another try next year. The kid had a great time, and so did I.
