I go to this grocery store often, I like it a lot. It is not one of the newer Rouses, but I like it anyway. The people are really friendly. The layout is good. The products and the variety are good. It’s pretty rare that I don’t find something on my list in this Rouses! I’ve recently especially liked The«deli to go» options. Meat and cheese are pre-sliced each day and put out by the deli. No waiting in line!

My favorite grocery store on the planet. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes in line at checkout, and I almost always find absolutely everything I need. I actually like to come and wander around in here on some Friday or Saturday nights while it’s dead because it’s cool to see everything they have to offer in all of the different departments.

They had Larabars! Hard to find in this area. Everything else was typical Rouses, which is a good thing.

Very good grocery store. It has everything including asian and ethnic items. The prices are great, too. I really like the produce, juice, and freezer sections. In addition, the aisles are wide and the place is always clean. I highly recommend Rouse’s.

I have lived in Cali, Texas, New York, and Florida. Tried every Sushi bar in a 30 mile radius of the metro area, and I must admit. This«particular store» is my favorite. The operator of this«franchise” – it’s not owned or run by Rouses, so the 5 stars are not for them. They are for Mrs. Yanni and this location. Being the ingredients are so expensive and fresh, I will frequently text her and ask her to make(or save) a Sampler platter, some Rainbow rolls, a few Smoked Salmon rolls and a Dragon Roll. It’s made for take-out, but if you want to sit up front and indulge, I guarantee your bill will be less than those places uptown. With Earhart Expy, you’re probably closer than I am. It is so worth the trip. Make a New Year’s resolution to try it out. She will let you sample(reasonably) what her latest creation is, and if you don’t like it I can guarantee there is something you will love. I can make Sushi, but almost like a taco – it is just not feasible for just one or two persons. There are also Japanese dumplings, Wakami, beautifully packaged ginger, low sodium soy, spicy and non-spicy sauces, eel sauce that is phenomenal, CATERING platters,(you will be the life of the party) and a ton of other variety that I have yet to experience. Looking forward to 2014. Have to ask her what the object of the New Year is. She will reply it in a snap, I am sure of it. Thank You Mrs. Yanni and I hope to see more of you in the coming year. I was just suggesting to another customer that«EVERYTHING is good!», and got the standard reply«I know…»

This is my neighborhood rouses. The staff is friendly, at least to their regulars. At night in particular the stock guys are helpful. Love their birthday cakes. I have ordered several and people love them. Definite plus.

This is a badass grocery store. I don’t do the bulk of my shopping here, but I definitely stop in at least once every couple of weeks for the«single girl special» — a bottle of wine and some grocery store sushi. If you’re awesome like me, I suggest the longhorn roll(insert adolescent innuendo here). It’s delicious: tempura shrimp, cream cheese, spicy tuna, crab salad across the top, with slices of fresh jalapeño across the top. And, it’s filing enough for a party of one(innuendo #2 here). I also enjoy the cheese section. This is where I stop when I am having an «I’m fabulous-and-single-in-a-sex-in-the-city-kind-of-way-and-all-the-single-ladies-are-coming-to-my-house-for-a-wine-and-cheese-party» mood. They have all sorts of nice cheeses. On the weekends, being that it’s Rouses and all, you can get a nice buzz walking through when the wine ladies are passing out their wares. Can’t beat that.

Rouse’s was of course a new discovery over the past couple months upon our move to Metairie. Our love for the prepared meat section will be the area that brings us back pretty regularly. When we had our first visitors from California, we wanted to create a few home meals that would leave a lasting impression and had the flavor of New Orleans. THANKGOODNESS for Rouse’s super friendly meat lady who recommended the sausage stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon in conjunction with the clearanced boudin balls and alligator sausage! The breakfast we prepared on our newly garage sale bought china with the complex flavors of these morsels that made angels sing quietly impressed us more than anything, but more vocally made the visitors yearn for our far away home.
