Super close. Has what we need. But also stinks like bad potatoes! And is fruit fly paradise. We shop here only when we need last minute things or do Not want to drive over to Winn-Dixie! There is one lady that works at this location heavy set, with a knot type hairstyle on top. Seems has worked here some time. Bi polar!!! Some days she is laughing and having a good time with her fellow workers and customers. But God forbid she be working a Holiday or late in the evening or early in the morning she is evil and will tell you alllll about how she deserved to be off or how tired she is. It is a little on the awkward side to say the least. Just overall bad attitude.

I used to head to this Save a lot all the time back when I used to live in Metairie. I was in the neighborhood about a week ago so I stopped in again. The customer service was the same as I dealt with the last time I was here. Not rude, but not over the top friendly either. Somewhere in the middle to be precise. I like the selection here because they tend to have more items to choose from than most of the other Save a lot stores in the area. That and they keep the store cleaner too. Just a little FYI this is a bring your own bag kind of grocery store. If you don’t have any bags you get charged 5 cents a bag. I guess its a small price to pay for saving some money. In short decent customer service, decent selection, and decent prices for the Metairie area. But remember to bring your own grocery bags.

Save-a-Lot is our staple for poor week shopping. always has most everything on hand, but it’s touch and go. I like it because it’s small and not overwhelming or crowded like Wal-Mart. Be sure to bring your own bags, or snag an empty box off the shelf to pack the groceries in. Come on in, save some dough and get some grub.

What is there to say about Save A Lot? It is where I go when I’m broke as a joke and I can’t get groceries at Winn Dixie or I’ll choke. I have to drive quite a ways to get over there, but I make it worth the trip by hauling the kids along with me and hitting up the Cici’s close by or going roller skating at Airline Skate Center. But alas, I digress. This is a good place to come and stock up on staples: canned goods, dry items like canned drinks, noodles, chips, crackers, cereal and stuff, and dairy. Their produce is pretty ok most of the time, if you don’t mind a couple of bruises on your apples. I bruise easily myself, so I don’t mind. The meat is touch-and-go; it sort of depends on the day as to the quality there, but I usually pick up some ground turkey and maybe a pack of pork chops at least. The frozen food selection is great, and it is a fantastic place to pick up some bread. Hell, buy two and stick one loaf in the freezer. Times are tough. I can get over a week’s worth of groceries here for about $ 40-$ 50. It’s no ALDI(don’t get me started on that mecca), but, for the price, that’ll do, Donkey… that’ll do.
