I’ve become a regular at Smoothie Time because of their fresh ingredients and flavor, compared to some other local chains in the area. This store is focused on health and body building, as they have all different kinds of protein powders, amino acids, pre-workout supplements, etc. If you have a question, the owner always seems willing to answer any you might have. On the wall, there’s a nice spreadsheet detailing their smoothies on calories, protein, and fat content. The environment could use a bit of some updating, but overall Smoothie Time is a great place to go and a place I highly recommend if you are a health enthusiast.

Great whole fruit smoothies. Smoothie king makes theirs with syrup and charges the same price… Come here instead! Owner was onsite and helped me pick the appropriate smoothie to help me recover from leg day! Delicious, will be a regular!

As Jamba Juice is to healthy yuppies, and as Smoothie King is to underweight(Loyola) undergraduates, Smoothie Time is to gym frequenters and muscular heavyweights. Picture GNC meets specialty sporting goods, shelves of protein and weight loss powder, muscle tees and jerseys on racks, a television blaring E! Entertainment Reality Television!, and a bored gum-chewing former cheerleader with a blender behind the cashier. Smoothie Time is under the French Riviera gym on Vets, and adjacent to some sort of hidden tanning salon, which should give you a pretty good idea of the clientele. I’m either in line behind a sweaty balding tattooed man or a bleach blonde stay-at-home mom trying to firm up her tummy flab. Although clearly too interested in The Bachelor to pay attention to you, who is ordering the smoothie, the girls at the counter are never rude, just preoccupied. Smoothies go for approximately $ 5 – 6, and have awesome, gym-inspired names like«The Gladiator» and«Weight-Loss Wonder»! They’re pretty tasty, to be honest, and have powders added that are good for you? I’ll be honest, I order ones that can be flavored with chocolate if I’m at the gym late and suck it down so I can go to bed as soon as I’m home. Tip: Ask for a Smoothie King card(buy 10 get one free), and hear the cashier sigh with displeasure as she opens the drawer to get it out, forced to perform yet another harrowing and arduous task
