Came here for Saturday lunch. We got a buckwheat crêpe and a sandwich which were both pretty good. Service was decent, but what was very frustrating was that gratuity(18%!) was automatically added for a party of three(two adults and a toddler). My husband didn’t notice so he tipped an extra 20%. :(Never heard of automatic tipping for parties less than 6, so pretty disappointed by this. The ambiance is nice(very French), but just beware of the automatic service charge!

A hidden gem off the beaten path. We were in the mood for crepés so went to Unilocal to help narrow the search. As soon as we walked in we were impressed by the ambience. Soft café music playing in the background, a friendly smile from the owner behind the counter and a welcoming«grab a seat anywhere». Got a coffee & crepés which were amazing. The coffee was smooth & fresh, the crêpe was delicious. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a chill experience outside of the contrived liquor & diner setting found on the strip.

If you sit outside(in the adorably decorated back patio), you run the risk of being eaten alive by mosquitoes. My friends and I all left with at least 2 – 3 bites by the end of our dinner here. Décor is so cute and romantic. Food was decent — I tried the escargot and the imperiale crêpe(with duck leg on top). The escargot was pretty good and very flavorful. The crêpe was a bit disappointing. It was a bit bland and boring. I probably just ordered the wrong menu item. Service was very subpar — the restaurant was nearly empty and we still had to wave over the waiter to refill our empty glasses.

You might call this little corner of France tucked away just off the main stretch of Espanola Way a hidden gem. Except that, of course, no eatery on Espanola Way is really hidden. This is mainly a place for crepes and galettes – that is, savory crepes, made with buckwheat and unsweetened. The menu offers a variety of traditional and more«experimental» fillings. Based on the reactions from our 17-strong crowd, the quality was uniformly high. Sadly we didn’t try the sweet crepes. Too bad. Or maybe not: we have an excuse to go back… The only negative is that service is not fast. Then again, ours was a big party. Also, while we waited, we ordered the Plat Royale, a combination cheese/charcuterie appetizer. That made the wait not quite so painful…

There are some places you just sit back after your meal and say, holly cr*p I need to write a Unilocal review… and that’s this place. Hands down best French café I’ve ever eaten at and has the BEST crepes I’ve ever eaten. I got the Pear and almond crepes and he surprised me with coffee in a bowl. 10⁄10 will return.

I came here with some family and friends. We opted for a table outside(with 5). They immediately brought us menus. After looking over them for a bit, the waiter came back over and took our orders(despite our horrible french pronunciations). He was very attentive and sweet! We talked for a little bit(enjoying the music that was playing inside) and the calm ambiance. The other guests were all cool and collective, so it’s definitely a good place to go to if you’re looking for a chill dining experience. No crazies around! Our food came within 15 minutes or so. Three of us ordered the crepes and the other two ordered normal breakfast platters. Overall, the food was delectable! The Montagard breakfast dishes were so yummy, and the truffle dressing added a nice touch. The only thing I didn’t like was that although I asked for over-easy eggs, my egg yolk was solid. The crepes(we got both sweet and salty) were yummy and made with Buckwheat flour. I would definitely opt for the dark chocolate filling if you’re getting a sweet crêpe. It really makes for a solid combination and doesn’t make the crêpe overly sweet. Throughout our meal, our waiter came back several times to check on us. Definitely an A+ for customer service. We got our check a little while after finishing. The prices are OK. They’re more on the expensive side, but it won’t kill you. Parking was fairly easy to find. We parked on Collins and just walked down Espanola Way. You can also park on the nearest cross street, but there is less parking there, and hey, 5 minutes of walking isn’t going to kill you. Definitely a yummy place to eat at if you’re in the area visiting(or living)!

My sister who is visiting found this gem on a recent trip to South Beach. La Folie is tucked away on the side streets of Espanola Way. It definitely has a very French type of café. French sayings on the wall and French music in the background. Very lovely ambiance. We ordered the strawberry/Nutella crêpe and caramelized pears with walnut on top crêpe with a pair of cappuccinos. My sister wasn’t lying when she said they have the best crepes ever! They basically melt in your mouth. So delicious and fresh. The cappuccinos didn’t disappoint either. Lovely little café!

Beautiful! Was walking around and stumbled across this gem! The décor on the outside patio is just perfect and the inside transports you to another era. They did such a great job with every single detail to create a lovely ambiance. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to try some of the delicious food. We had just left another restaurant but the wine was delicious. Perfect for a meal or just to catch up with a friend or loved one. The staff was very friendly and everything i saw go by looked sooooo good! I will definitely be coming back!

Like many people, we romanticize crepes and have decided to give this place another try now that we are back in Miami for vacation, with children in tow this time. The food is decent and the atmosphere is decidedly French chic. But decent is as far as I I can go. I ordered the spicy tuna which was nothing more than regular tuna with a spicy sauce on the side. The fillings were not particularly creative, and the crispness of the sweet crepes varied greatly. I know this as we had 3 crepes with strawberries, for our kids. The service, however, was what disappointed me the most. Perhaps the Saturday we visited was particularly busy and they happened to be understaffed. But it was nearly an hour between waiting to be seated to when the food was finally served, which technically changed brunch to lunch. This place has deromantized my notion of crepes.

It’s a 4.5 star place. Very very French. Late dinner with family of four. Started with the giant prawn, daily special. It’s like three small lobster. I am a gourmet cook. I know it’s super hard to make tasty texture of big prawn. The prawn is two thumbs up. Escargot is excellent. Then we had creeps as our main entrees. I would recommend crêpe with cream or more filling. The ham and cheese is a bit dry for me. Such confit with creamy mushroom crêpe is savory. My fav sweet crêpe is the pear with almond paste.

Cute French café. Cozy, homey and delicious food and coffees. Since it was our first time here, we tried the chocolate croissant(in France, because of its shape, it’s not called a croissant, it’s a Pan au Chocolat), almond croissant, ham and egg and mushroom crêpe and a café au latte. I have a milk allergy, so I was thrilled to hear they offered almond milk. Be aware that it’s served in a bowl so it’s large!!! The savory crepes are made with a buckwheat flour(my husband was not a fan), so they look darker than a normal crêpe. The dessert crepes however are served with the typical white flour. Our number one favorite of everything was the housemade almond croissant(probably the best we’ve ever had) with the pan a chocolat a close 2nd. My hubby ordered a café Americano which was good. Good for breakfast and lunch… But they do offer a large assortment of savory crepes if you choose to go for dinner and then dessert! The staff were friendly and helpful and not pushy. We stayed and enjoyed the coffee and atmosphere and we didn’t feel rushed! We will definitely come back.

No, just no. Rude waiter and extremely slow service. Granted I never got to try their food/crepes but… it’s not worth the insanely long wait(took 20min to flag down the waiter to just take an order, then over 40min of waiting and they still hadn’t started the TWO crepes I ordered when there were empty tables and everyone else already received their orders…). Maybe worth it if they air their crepes straight from France…

A great place on Espanola way to chill out in the French café style with a coffee or glass of wine and some light food. If you have not lived in Europe, you may not quite get it. They are not in a super hurry, but then again once you take a table, they will not hurry you to eat, pay and go. The cheese and meat plates are very authentic(as close as you can get in the USA), the crepes are also wonderful. I was checking my email and they gave me their wifi code also.

Best crepes I’ve had in a long time. It reminds me of my mom’s crepes, perfectly light and delicious. They also have a great home brewed unsweetened ice tea. The server was nice and had a sense of humor. The proof of how authentically French and delicious it is, is that both the employees and some of the customers were French. I will be coming back.

My fiancé and I are here from Los Angeles and we’re looking for a small place in the area to enjoy something warm. I am so glad I picked this spot! Such a Sweet little ambiance! I had the onion soup and a latte, both were delicious. There’s a sweet little cat here as well that keeps the customers company. Everyone here is very kind and hospitable. I would absolutely recommend this place to both tourists and locals :)

Do not bother unless you really want to try over priced food for horrendous service. My party and I waited over 50 minutes for a friggin crêpe to be made while others who were seated waaaay after us got their whole, what it seemed like, 13-course meal. This french waiter was rude as hell. Ruder than what you’d imagine a frenchie to be towards an American, hah. My nicest friend asked him twice(in 20 minute intervals) how much longer we needed for our crêpe(s) and he had the audacity to snap at us saying, «There is many table. Be patient!» FIRSTOFALL there were EMPTYTABLES in your tiny ass restaurant(just 2 other tables besides us) and all the seats outside were empty. I saw the crêpe«machine» in front of me before we sat down that was being worked on for a previous table and right when we order no one is working that contraption, probably on that rude waiters command. We decided to leave and the waiter didn’t even apologize. Might have been a racist thing I’m not sure but this was the worst service ever.

My second time here and I keep coming back. The perfect place for a relaxing weekend brunch. Although the service is French-slow, the food makes up for it ;) I got the la follie crêpe with mushrooms in truffle oil, potatoes, sundried tomatoes and goat cheese and it was delicious! Got their cappuccino with almond milk which was the best almond milk cap I’ve had. The almond milk did not cover up the taste of fresh coffee like many of the other ones I’ve had. Must try when in Miami!

I ordered a cappuccino and a Moroccan flavored crêpe at A La Folie. The coffee was fantastic, with the perfect amount of steamed milk. The crêpe was deliciously paired with harissa, a spicy traditional sauce. I was a bit confused about the choice of fish as the main protein, as I thought it was a bit of a weird pairing with cheese and spice. However, with the crispness of the crêpe enfolding the stuffing, all was forgiven. I made a friend with their resident cat who napped beside us as we enjoyed our meal. Just off the Espanola Way pedestrian street, this café was one of the only open for brunch during the Christmas holiday. Service is prompt and polite. The wait staff seen quite fun, and banter amicably behind the counter, creating a friendly atmosphere. With plenty of beautiful outdoor seating, it’s no wonder we were able to secure indoor seating. While less apt to get a breeze, the indoor seating has plenty of comfy cushions, magazines, and gorgeous décor. I highly recommend this spot for brunch or a coffee date!

The menu is ok. Only crepes, sandwiches and salads. I got the chèvre salad — they used a dressing which is not listed on the menu and I didn’t like it at all so I sent it back after a few bites. When I told him the dressing wasn’t on the menu he assured me that it was and when I asked him to show me he said don’t worry about it. They proceeded to charge me for it after taking the salad away. When I tried to tell them they shouldn’t take food from someone if they are going to charge for it the waiter began to speak over me and talk back. They also charged my friend for a more expensive salad than she actually got. I didn’t get a glass for water until I got up and asked someone in the back by the kitchen. And i had to order my salad the same way because I met my friends there Bad bad service. Decent food. Super touristy area. If you can make it off the beach you’re much better off going to Buena Vista Bistro for French in Miami. Never coming back to this place.

A lovely charming café, with authentically French food, a comfortable and perfect place to express each other’s beautiful poems …;) One of my favorite places to enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, excellent wine or super delicious crepes, this coffee is very French, a piece of France in Sobe, pour les romantiques et les amoureux de la vie!!! I always come here for a delicious ice cream, Violet ice cream, the flavor is delicate and colorful, perfect for those with a sophisticated sweet tooth! ;) If you want to start or end a great day this is the perfect place, especially with these days, the breeze plays with your hair and face and I promise you will enjoy an extraordinary day !!! ;) Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.

The stars are all because of the food… and the great ambiance. Located at the end of the fun and charming Española Way in the heart of South Beach, Miami Beach, A la Folie is my favorite spot in the entire area. Maybe not known for its service(which after a while adds to the charm of the place), I come back over and over for a delicious escape with nice music, cozy lighting and what for me I call, simple deliciousness. I haven’t tasted anything I didn’t agree with; the crepes are great and the smaller plates are fantastic but my favorite part is the mix of it all… starting with a French onion soup, the country pâté spread over a nice warm baguette, while biting into the quiche and followed by any of the sandwiches, you’ll never go wrong with a croque monsieur but try them all. I always end my journey with a dessert, most likely I’ll get the always classic crème brûlée and if I have a bit more time and I’m sharing I’ll add the chocolate molten cake topped with an espresso to wrap up a warm and cozy, simply delicious Parisienne randez-vous.

Usually I don’t like to give 1 star ratings except when the service is beyond bad and not because of ‘full house/kitchen’ situations, but because of a full inattentive and lack of commitment with customers. Food is average, sometimes good, sometimes bad, bread is usually served stale. Service is merely inattentive once you food gets to your place, no person visits your place again. A cat is always roaming the restaurant and even though I have no problem, is for sure a health violation as he comes from the outside, goes to tables, goes to the kitchen, goes out and then in again and decides to roam next to the customers. Finally I would recommend customers to check their card statements, as on my last visit I was unexpectedly charged an extra $ 15 tip, when tip is already included in the check. I’m sorry A La Folie, but dishonesty and bad service won’t make you keep loyal customers.

I came to Miami on my yearly trip to Florida and I was really craving crepes. So my cousin and I decided to try this little spot. We went on a Sunday around 6pm. The restaurant is quite small so you have to keep your eyes open, but walking in you close the door on the ridiculously busy Miami streets and enter into this quaint, french bistro(in a sense). We came in at a perfect time, because we didn’t have to wait, we sat down, joked with our host, and ordered our crêpe. I got the banana crêpe with Nutella + extra strawberries… and it was DELICIOUS! Not the greatest crêpe ever made but close enough! I’m sure that’s what savory crepes taste like in France. When I come back to Miami, save me a seat !!!

This was such a cute breakfast place while in Miami! It’s located on Espanola Way, which was such an adorable street(I felt like I was in Europe). I loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the weather while I devoured some awesome crapes. I ordered the cappuccino and the banana Nutella crape, which were excellent! The service was not the best, but there were only two guys working and the place was really busy. I would definitely suggest this place for breakfast or brunch! Just expect to wait a while if you want to sit outside.

Our first breakfast while in Miami was here are A La Folie Café. It’s a cute little café tucked in a quiet alley. They have seating inside and out. Based on reviews and ratings, we were quiet ecstatic to try this place out. First off, based on some reviews, we had to order their Mochas. We also ordered an almond croissant, croque madam, pear and almond crêpe, and chicken and brie crêpe. When we got our mochas, we were ghastly disappointed. The mochas came in a small mug(previous reviews spoke of their large mugs), foam was messy and not very appealing, I was also hoping for some latte art. There was no hint of chocolate in the mochas and my friend’s cup came with a red lipstick stain and she wasn’t wearing any lipstick. They remade our mochas after we asked if it was really a mocha and not a latte. The second round came out exactly the same. The mochas are actually lattes and just average in taste. Maybe our standards were set a bit high from previous reviews, but still, this«mocha» was very subpar. The crepes and croque madam were average, nothing spectacular. The crêpe was on the doughy side and didn’t have a crunch one bit. The croque madam’s bread on the other hand was as hard as a rock. Portion size was decent. The almond croissant was the highlight of our meal. At the end of our meal, a stray cat wandered into the restaurant. I wasn’t appalled or anything by the cat, but what the server did after with the cat was appalling. He picked it up and placed the cat right in front of my friends face and near our food without asking us. My friend first off doesn’t like cats and was startled by this sudden move. We weren’t done with our food either, but we lost our appetite after that gesture. We were sitting indoors too. Definitely won’t be coming back here after that first experience.

I had bookmarked this place some time ago, and lately I’ve been enjoying French food. Even though I can’t even pronounce most of the words I still love the food. The place is situated in the back of Española way, has particular furniture, nothing makes sense but«it makes sense», if that makes sense LOL The food is really good, the service not so much, but whatever, it was a perfect weather night, so we didn’t really care. I will definitely be back, for some crepes and coffee :)
