My favorite restaurant. They have the best food. I always go there when I’m in Miami. Ask for the salmon ceviche.

The outside patio looked very nice BUT we were extremely disappointed. We were lured in with the happy hour which did not include beer or wine. It also did not include 8 of the 12 items on the happy hour menu. The service was EXTREMELY slow and the plates were EXTREMELY tiny and SUPER expensive. GOSOMEWHEREELSE!

Put this place anywhere else and you might mark it up a star or two. Drop it into the competitive(and highly raised bar of expectations at) south beach… And you have a different reaction. That is, this is a mediocre place at best. Steak was chewy — meaning not the freshest meat or best cuts. The Cuban sandwich sticks were great, a nice flare of the culture they try to emulate. Service was good. Restaurant was dead, even on a Saturday night at 9p. Neat pool and patio area that resembles what«neat» would have felt like 10 years ago. Some palm trees with colored lights and pretty chaise lounge chairs. And finally, two(homeless or stray?) cats roaming freely and laying on the feet of patrons having dinner.

Went with a big group of girls and enjoyed the restaurant although the lighting was very low and music quite loud, which made it somewhat difficult for conversation. The employees were attentive and pleasant and the food was good… And the cappuccino at the end rounded out the meal perfectly

Great service and great food! The waiter was very friendly and attentive. I love that they brought out fresh lemon for our water in a nice wine glass on the side. We sat outside by the pool to have dinner and the view and the food were wonderful. They also have a nice breakfast set up and they will even make made to order omelets.

So disappointed. We read good reviews and we were excited to try it. I’m not sure if the chef changed or if it was a bad night, but I do know that the service was horrible and the food was totally hit and miss. The ceviche platter was great although it took over an hour to get to us(on a dead night) and we actually didn’t even order it. The spare ribs were super dry served with crusty rice and brown avocados. The grouper was ok and the gnocchi was pretty good. The server was friendly but not at all attentive and we had to ask more than once for water and to order more wine. There was also an extra hotel tax in addition to the city tax and gratuity. For the cost this was a total disaster and very disappointing. Overall there are much better places to eat in the area so don’t waste your money or time.

Pork belly and yuca was delicious. Great cuban flavors and a nice casual atmosphere! The marlin tacos had a really nice smokey flavor. Everything we ordered was tasty.

Very good food for lunch and dinner. If you’re staying at the Bentley I encourage you to stay local and eat here. Recommend the calamari salad and angus burgers. Excellent waitstaff especially Jamie and Pedro.

A disappointment. I was there for Valentines day. I was disappointed by the pork belly; it was overcooked to the point of being inedible and when I point this out, I wasn’t offered another option and was still charged full price.(See picture: ) I also ordered a dessert that had some kind of chip that was burnt to the point of being inedible placed at the top. It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever tasted in a restaurant(see picture here: ). I told them not to serve this to anyone. But pointed this out to the staff but was not offered an alternative or to have it removed from my bill. There were a few other forgettable dishes that were fine enough, and might have earned a three-star review, but when I got the check and accounted for value, this place lands right in the basement. Anyway, the lesson here is to not wait until the last minute to book your Vday dinner reservation or you end up at a disappointing, third-rate overpriced restaurant like this one.

Food is just ok, but where this restaurant earns its one star is the service. Hostess Naomi has no intention of welcoming customers and she wants to take out her own frustrations on you. But the other servers aren’t that much better, which leads me to believe this is a management problem. I tried both the breakfast buffet and happy hour drinks and tapas. Again the food is ok. The service is unacceptable. Housed in the Hilton Bently, the restaurant needs a shakeup in management. It reflects poorly on the Hilton brand of an otherwise nice property. I had a chance to speak with the manager and could tell things won’t be changing anytime soon. I do fault Hilton to the extent that they are not policing their restaurant more closely. Here’s hoping they take the poor reviews of this restaurant more seriously in the future.

We had lunch here waiting for our room, about 12:30 pm. Service was excellent. We were the only patrons. Menu looks like a hotel restaurant menu with a few attempts at local items. Food was absolutely terrible, even for a hotel restaurant. Wine list has little of interest, very limited.

I was really looking forward to an elevated Cuban meal since this restaurant is supposed to have a Michelin star chef. My expectations were way too high. My husband and I love Cuban food and we were both disappointed with our beef short ribs. They were dry and over cooked. The rice was also dry and the black beans were bland. The bread didn’t arrive until we finished our meal. The service was slow and not very attentive even though the restaurant was practically empty. I wouldn’t go back. It is over priced and it lacks quality.

Can’t say many good things about this restaurant. We were in the area for a few days and wanted good Cuban food in nice surroundings. Had it the night before at Oola which was great. The place was half empty when we entered but we were seated by the pool. There was a huge party seated also. Had to be 35 people. Maybe that’s why service was not good. The waiter was not interested in us and hurried to tell us specials etc. I couldn’t even understand him. Anyway our wine was decent, I would hope for $ 88. Grilled octopus was good even tasty, then it went downhill. Kobe meatballs were totally overcooked and not properly seasoned. Snapper and conch ceviche were also underspiced but what was unforgivable was the cutting of the snapper. It was cut in big pieces and not properly so it ended up tough and not chewable . We should have let it go back actually. The Cubia was totally overcooked and dry with peppers on the side that seemed so read as if they had been died in something. Bland, bland bland. We decided to have dessert else where ! A very bad experience, maybe t’s for tourists who might not know better food.

I really wanted a top-notch Cuban meal while in Miami and was expecting more from De Rodriguez. On a Saturday night, albeit in slow season, the restaurant was fairly dead. Over half the tables were empty. However, we still really enjoyed the atmosphere — we sat at a table next to the pool, and it was peaceful. If you’re looking for a scene, you may not get it here(I assume it’s busier during peak tourist seasons). Our service was the best we had while in Miami. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the rationale for only a two star review is that our food left little to be desired. We split a 20 ounce rib eye and shrimp. Our rib eye was ordered medium and came out well done. It was completely dry and tasteless. Our shrimp was equally over-cooked and dry. Our sides, however, were decent. The mash potatoes were tasty, and my boyfriend enjoyed the brussel sprouts. I prefer them more cooked. The mark-up on the wine list was significant — close to 3.5−4 times retail.

Hands down top restaurant in south beach for me. It’s tough to find pure culinary on ocean as it’s a tourist attraction full of colorful expensive paella. Creator of Nuevo Latino — chef D Rod comes through with an assortment of ceviches that will blow your mind. There are also different takes on classic Cuban. My recommendation is that you start off with the ceviche sampler — then move on to the deconstructed Cuban and finish with the pork belly. Great to see comida Latina being elevated to another level.

I read about this place on a few travel sites so I really expected something special. However the lunch menu is probably not their best time of day to showcase their food. We had the beef empanadas which had some weird mustard like sauce. Would have been better if they put this on the side. Salads are really expensive here if you add meat, like almost $ 20! I got the BLT instead. It came with lots of bacon but with the addition of the sauce it tasted a bit too salty and greasy. But hey it’s a bacon sandwich so that’s to be expected to a degree. The fries were pretty tasty though! I think I finished all of them. I’m giving this place 4 stars because everyone actually liked their food but it just lacked that something special.

This place is your standard hotel restaurant. I was a guest here and was given 2 cards — one for a discount off dinner and another for a free mojito and it listed happy hour specials on the back. My friends and I ended up coming here just for for happy hour. $ 5 passion fruit mojitos were delicious. They offered different types of mojitos in addition to $ 5 tapas. I ordered 2 tapas: patatas bravas and the pork belly. The patatas bravas came with a side of spicy tomato sauce and a side of garlic aioli sauce. The potatoes were cut into cubes that made it really easy to dip into the sauces. The pork belly came on 2 skewers. The pork belly was really crispy and not as soft as expected. Overall, not spectacular but you can’t turn down $ 5 mojitos and tapas, especially in South Beach.

Came here not too long ago while on a mini weekend vacation with the bestie and bf. We decided to have dinner at «De Rodriguez Cuba» on a Thursday night. The area was very live but the restaurant is not located on the strip, it is actually down the block and around the corner. I was sure the atmosphere inside would be great anyway. As we entered the restaurant, it was completely empty except for one group having dinner. We didn’t mind though. We ask if we could sit at one of their outside tables which was not a problem. They have a beautiful outside seating area that is right on their pool that lights up and the beach right behind us. You can actually hear the waves hitting the beach. We started off by ordering a pitcher of coconut mojitos. Their menu consisted of the traditional Latin Caribbean dishes. I had my heart set on the«crispy Cuban pork belly» yum. My boyfriend had ordered the«Mother and child chicken» and the bestie got the«Empanadas». As our pitcher of coconut mojitos arrived, they were accompanied by «plantain chips» and«garlic breadsticks». Both were soo yummy. We even ended asking for more. Embarrassing! Lol. Our food had arrived and looked pretty decent. My Pork belly was served by an oregano mojo with sweet red peppers and white rice with black beans. The pork was cooked very well and was sooo good! The skin was perfectly crispy and had the little fatty layer that wasn’t overly greasy or fatty and the meat layer was tender and not dried out. The beans had good flavor as well. I was happy with my order. My bfs mother and child chicken consisted of grilled chicken breast and chicken ropa vieja(shredded chicken in a tomato sauce) yellow rice, roasted peppers manchego cheese topped with a sunny side up egg. All of this sounds soo good, but it was just alright. We both weren’t crazy about it, but he loved mine also, so I shared. My friends empanadas were pretty good also. Our waiter was so nice and funny. He made o4r dinnrer service a good experience. We did not feel rushed or ignored. He made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us often. Even though the restaurant was empty I enjoyed it. I’m sure it gets more business on the weekends. I had a good time here and would most likely come back. Its a gorgeous restaurant with good staff and decent food
