Party of four for dinner. Everything about the experience was so uneven it’s really hard to give a correct star rating. Compared to many other places on Española Way, it wasn’t too crowded and the music wasn’t overly loud. But the food was really subpar especially for the prices. not likely to go back.

This place is amazing! We made sure to go back a 2nd time on our last night in south beach. Out of all the places we ate, Flame had the best service and best surf and turf! Not to mention the best prices! It’s towards the end of the Espanola Way strip… so it’s less crowded than the other restaurants — def the best place around!

Do. Not. Go here. First thing that happened as we walked in: waiter spills water all over my back and the floor around me, doesn’t apologize and doesn’t clean it up the entire time we’re there. Then he brings our entire table of 8ONESINGLEMENU and looks super confused when we ask for more. Several minutes later, a different waitress comes to take our drink order. One of the girls at the table ordered a Jack & Coke, to which the waitress responds, «so, a jack and coke separate?» No. Mixed together. At this point, we’re understandably agitated and watch the bartender(who was NOT busy) stand behind the bar for a solid 5 minutes without even reaching for a bottle of booze to start on the drinks. We wait about 4 more minutes before we decide to cancel everything and leave, and now we’re sitting across the street at Tapas & Tintos where we’re enjoying a lovely ambiance and solid service. BAI, FLAME. See ya never.

Came in to eat lunch and use the wifi. Natalia was the server and gave good service and the hamburger was nice. There was a choice of sweet potato fries and regular fries. They could be busier but there are too many mosquitoes inside and AC is off. I have noticed it is busier at night.

Lets start with the good part: the prices! For the place located in Española way the parices are amazing and besides that they offer 50% drinks or 20% food for their specials. But if you see an empty restaurant in prime tourist location during a busy weekend something have to be wrong. So the free champaign was only one glass per table… So you still have to order another one. We almost had to beg for bread and were given 2 pieces. When we asked for more we were told that we are not allowed to have more. Then the food came… We are SoBe locals and as we don’t eat much we usually order one dish and share. Not in this place. They serve appetizers priced as a main dish. Even that we asked our server if the size was good for sharing. After a bread incident out waiter decided not to come to the table not even to refill the water or to bring the bill. My husband had to stand up and go onside the restaurant to ask for the bill. The food was good but it seems like this is another tourist trap. Now we know!

Went for dinner on a Friday night when we made reservations at 8. Got there 15 min early but still wouldnt seat us untill 8 even though the entire restaurant was almost empty. Once our entire table ordered they came back 30 min later to tell us that half the menu was not in stock and we had to change the orders. After that we waited and hour before even appetizers came out and just one entrée. The food itself was mediocre and at the hour and a half mark, food still hadnt come out. Meanwhile the one other table that was in the restaurant had left so the entire place was empty so there was no possible explanation for the delay. We had to leave by 930 for plans so we actually never even got any of our dinner and we got a check for the drinks and one entrée we received. Cant attest to the food since we didn’t eat anything but bread, but service here is horrendous. I cant imagine what would happen on a busy night. One of the worst dining experiences of my life

Came here because the reviews were so great! So glad we did. As other reviewers have said, the menu is very reasonably priced. They were obviously quite short-staffed, but the manager and hostess did everything between them. Luckily for them, it was a quiet night. They were running a Happy Hour special which meant we could choose from 2-for-1 drinks or 20% off food. This meant an already very reasonably priced SOBE menu became amazing value. The food was delicious — I had the NY Strip and my other half had a Skirt Steak. Yummy food in large portions. Nice wine selection and cocktail menu. Great people-watching on Espanola Way. We’ll definitely come back here!

Pros –nice server –2 for 1 happy hour –comped dessert(for overcooking steaks) –reasonable prices Cons –overcooked steaks(filet mignon & ny strip) –brought different side than stated on menu –brought out ‘right’ side but was cold –crème brûlée was watery I only gave it a 2 because I won’t be spending my money here again.

The service was terrible. The waiter didn’t even think to pay attention to us even though we were the only table at 9:00pm. He was on his phone texting the entire time– rude! My steak was ALL fat, I left about ¾ of it uneaten due to the grizzle, there were about 2 pieces of broccoli and 5 little roasted potatoes as an accompaniment. The ONLY reason this place isn’t getting 1 star is because of the location and how clean the bathrooms were. Espagnola way is beautiful at night, and it was perfect to sit outside and enjoy a crappy dinner.

There’s free bread and we have been on south beach for like 4 days and this is the first time we have gotten anything for free so that’s a plus for sure. Came with 3 friends so there was 4 of us total. We got seated easily and had menus right away but it took a little while for us to get any attention even though they weren’t that busy. When our waiter did come he was great I really liked him. He was very receptive to our questions and requests. I got a lemonade off of the cocktail list and it was pretty good. Our waiter was also the bar tender tonight so everything was a little slow. It was ok though we were having a great time hanging out outside and enjoying the weather. Our food was almost great. It was like so close to being great. I would easily say it was very good though. It wasn’t our favorite place during our vacation in south beach but we would eat here again. The hostess wasn’t as pushy as most south beach hostesses and the rest of the staff was very down to earth and nice it was a great experience and good but not great food. If I could give it 3.5 stars I probably would.

Love this place! The food was amazing and reasonably priced, especially for the area. Big portions too. My only complaint is that they don’t have beer on draft.

We came here for Christmas Dinner this year. Our goal was to find somewhere close to my grandmother’s condo(she’s almost 90 and we have to use a wheelchair), somewhere that is reasonably priced, has great food, excellent service, and with a good ambience. I understand that’s a tall order. We managed 2 out of 5. The prices are very reasonable and its in great proximity to her condo. When we arrived, it was about 4 o’clock. We sat down(it was freezing inside), and immediately moved outside. We ordered drinks, and then had to actually lead the bartender to the bottle of Bombay Sapphire(he had no idea where it was). I ordered a vodka/tonic that ended up being a pint glass of vodka(not bad if I was in college still, haha). We ordered a few ribeyes and the ribs. I ordered mine medium rare, and it of course came out well done(note: their ribeye is a surprisingly thin cut). They remade it, but this time it was basically blue. One last time and finally I had an edible piece of meat. Following us finishing our entrees, we waited at least 20 minutes to be checked on. We even tried to flag down our server from the window, but he had no interest in coming back outside. Finally, I had to stand up and walk inside to request service. We were pretty much over it at this point and asked for the check… Once again, 15 minutes later I had to go inside to ask if it was coming. Once he dropped off the check, we noticed they had charged us twice for one of our drinks, but since we knew it would be an hour to get it fixed, we paid and yes, I had to literally take the check in to hand it to our server to run my card. There are at least 50 places in Miami Beach, I’d recommend over this. Save yourself.

Not my favorite restaurant on Espanola Way but I would visit again. There was a delay in getting our order which we would have understood if it was busy but it wasn’t. Casual settings and friendly staff made the wait easy and pricing was good value for South Beach.

I don’t post on Unilocal often, but when I stumbled across this gem of a restaurant, I wanted to give them a positive review. Like other reviewers, our hotel recommended Havana 1957 or whatever it is called on Espanola Way — with an hour wait and tons of restaurants on the street, we walked by Flame. The restaurant wasn’t crowded compared to others at the top of the street as this one is tucked away in the back. Overall, the food was great. We had ceviche for an appetizer, and then mahi mahi and tuna for dinner. When we ran out of plantains to scoop of our ceviche, the hostess offered to have the chef make more — and then were very fresh and perfectly cooked. The portions for our entrée were terrific as well, and my portion of seared tuna was not only delicious, but huge as well. Even at 8pm or so on a Friday night, it was happy hour and the drinks were buy one/get one free. Compared to other places in South Beach and on this street, this place was a bargain. Our dinner for two with two drinks was under $ 70, and that included tax and an 18% gratuity. I don’t price shop while on vacation, but to find a place that had great food, good service, no wait, and at a great price, I knew I had to take a business card to post a review for them after I returned from my cruise. Enjoy!

This place was good and fairly inexpensive. Not great but definitely worth the money. Drinks: Happy hour buy one get one free? i mean who doesnt like bogo drinks amiright? Appetizers: Small portions but low prices, we ordered 3 for the table. One was calamari(tasty), one was prosciutto and mozzerella(the mozzerella was a little cold for my personal liking and there was only two pieces of prosciutto. Lastly we got beef carpaccio. It was just okay. Main course: 2 Ny Strip steaks(cooked correctly) 2 Skirt steaks(overcooked) 1 Burger(overcooked) 1 lobster tail(a bit dry) 1 Filet mignon(cooked correctly) Overall the meat was marinated well and tasted great just wish they would have cooked all the meat how it was asked to be cooked Dessert: Crème brûlée. Its crème brûlée. i mean you really cant mess this up. so it was good. Another downfall that almost makes me want to go 3 stars is we waited a long time for everything.

Despite all the reviews about poor service, my friend and I had a great dinner experience here on Sunday night. I made a reservation and asked for a special birthday surprise for my friend-no problem. When we arrived the hostess had reserved a table outside in a great location. We enjoyed people watching on Espanola Way while dining. We ordered the calamari and shrimp, seafood gumbo(spicy), and the pesto pasta(subbed the gnocchi for linguine). The calamari, our favorite, was served with onions and a delicious sauce. Birthday dessert was key lime pie which was great! In all, we had a great dining experience! Service was quick and the staff was friendly. We’d definitely come back here when in town again.

We started out with dirty martinis that came perfectly chilled and with the right amount of dirty! Extra healthy portion as well! While we sipped we also munched on the prosciutto and burata appetizer which was phenomenal!!! We then has the beef carpaccio and filet mignon for our main courses. The carpaccio was nice and light and perfect for a hot night. Cold carpaccio with cherry tomatoes and some arugula with a balsamic glaze. The filet mignon came with creamy mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus that was cooked the right way so you can eat the whole stick with ease. The meal was so good that we even went back the next night and opted for the same meal minus the carpaccio. The reason I give them a 3 is because of the consistency. The first night I would have gave them 6 out of 5 stars but going back the second night I would give them a 2. We ordered our martinis and the lady waitress didn’t understand us and opted to not order them for about 10 minutes before we had to ask for them again. She then ran inside and about 7 minutes later came out and handed us straight up vodkas with olives. We told her they were dirty martinis and she informed us that they ran out of olive juice and so we decided to ask for something else because we specifically ordered extra dirty martinis. She gave us a rude look and then left them on the table to walk inside. She finally came back and took them away and asked for our second drink order. We placed our drink order and then also ordered the prosciutto and burata dish that we had the night before. The dish came out about 25 minutes later and was missing half the amount of cheese it had the night before and had two cherry tomatoes with 4 pieces of arugula. This is not how we had it the night before and really bummed us out because we were looking forward to this dish and came back specifically for it. We then ordered the filet mignon again to share and it came cooked the right way and with a good sauce again. This time the asparagus were not cooked thoroughly and the mashed potatoes were not as creamy and smooth as the night before. We then went to order a second round of drinks and my boyfriend ordered a cucumber gimlet on the rocks. 7 minutes later the bar tender came out to ask us about the drink which we then explained in detail and about another 10 minutes after that a vodka with a splash of lime juice and a cucumber garnish in an up glass was placed on our table. We asked for the check and got out with mixed emotions about the place when the night before we would have recommended it to everyone. Good Luck when you go! You could get the 6 out of 5 star experience or you could get the 2…

Open Table reservation. Seated quickly. Waiter greeted us and offered the drinks and food menu. Upon ordering he brought us a yummy toasted bread with hummus appetizer gratis. Four of us ordered salmon dishes – dinner with rizzotta, spinach/asparagus salad with Gorgonzola, and pear salad with the salmon added – all were delicious. Also the skirt steak was very tasty with polenta and creamed spinach. Had no atmosphere to talk about, but had very good food and service. For our party of five, tip was added. Look for that.

I went to this restaurant on August 9, while on vacation with six of my friends. We were really excited to try out the restaurant. Unfortunately, our excitement soon turned to frustration and the most horrible dining experience of my life. Here are the highlights: 1. It took at least 2.5 hours to get our food. 2. The waiters lied several times(– «it’ll be five more mins. on your food», etc). 3. When the food FINALLY arrived, orders were incorrect. 4. The food was just OK not anything spectacular. It definitely wasn’t worth the wait. 5. Our bill was incorrect If that’s not enough — when I explained our horrible experience to the manager with the waiter present, the waiter replied with something like, «I don’t have time to deal with that; I have other tables.» — It was unbelievable. Our bill was finally corrected by the manager, but what a nightmare. An absolute nightmare. Save yourself the stress and eat somewhere else. Yikes!

I’d been wary of this place since the whole Espanola Way change-over. You know, where all the mom and pop shops disappeared and these new places opened. I was walking by with some friends who were visiting and we decided to give it a shot. We were surprised to see great happy hour specials advertised; especially since it was Friday night. We experienced great service, friendly staff, tasty drinks that were half price, and reasonably priced tasty food. We had mojitos, lychee martinis(with extra lychees on the side!), and espresso martinis. We ate shared Margharita pizza(thin crust on what seemed to be matzoh), and venezuelan cheese taquenas. It was wonderful to enjoy great food, drinks, and service while sitting outside on quaint Espanola Way, people watching and chatting with the patrons at the next table.
