Service was good, waitress was attentive, husband would have ordered another drink if she had been more available. Food was good, steak, rice and black beans. Finished the lot. Reason for three stars is the waitress up sold me an ultimate Mojito for almost 15 bucks, it was the same size as any other Mojito I’ve ever got so no chance I was ordering another!

I couldn’t leave Miami Beach without jumping feet first into some Cuban food, so I’m glad I found out this place was right by my hotel! The place was slammed and there was an endless queue of people asking for tables. Luckily as a one man band I managed to get one pretty swiftly, but larger groups were being told 45−60minutes so be warned! After reading so many rave reviews I went for the Havana 1957 Speciality of chicken & rice with plantain, black beans & salad. As I tucked into the thigh I was ecstatic at how succulent it was. Unfortunately the rest of the chicken was a little drier than I would have hoped for after reading about everyone else’s experiences. Regardless, the meal was beautiful, a real blend of great flavours when you mix the chicken rice & beans. I washed it down with a coconut mojito which was pretty damn delicious. Those two things came to around $ 35 before a tip so it’s not the cheapest place to dine — but still, highly recommended.

Can’t lie. I overdosed on food, before I came here, so I only ate dessert. The coconut flan is YUMMMMMMMY. My friends enjoyed the food. They are a little pricey and they include gratuity… so, don’t go here if you are on a budget.

What can I say?! Perfect score! From the smiling hostess, to our lovely waitress who suggested fantastic dishes that pleased all 3 kids ages 7,11,12 + my husband and I, to the fun music and people watching… we loved it all! Clean, tasty food, loved the café con leche and the chicken was so unique! I wish we had a place like this in Houston. Love. Love. Love!

My group got the appetizer sampler. It was really good. The croquettes were my favorite! I got the chicken special and I loved every bite. It was half a chicken, I took half home and it was just as good cold(the rice and beans too!) The rain was a bummer, sine of my party was getting wet… Otherwise it was a great dining experience.

My wife and I dined here during our stay in Miami beach. This place was really good. The wait time wasn’t too long. We got a half pitcher of sangria, app and entrée. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather while listening to typical Cuban music. We would definitely return. Must have the guava cheese cake. It is so delicious!

My boyfriend and I stopped by here when we were in Miami because I really wanted to try some Cuban food. We were wandering around South Beach and just Unilocaled the closest, highly rated(because we’re both a bit Unilocal-snobby) Cuban place and discovered Havana 1957. The location is definitely a bit of a tourist trap, but really, the entire area is just crowded and boisterous. I ordered the Cubano sandwich and my boyfriend got the special(the Havana 1957 specialty roasted chicken with Cuban gravy). We also got plantain chips with our orders and I got a mojito. I really just have to say that I loved everything we ordered. The mojito was perfect with a great balance between alcohol, mint, and sweetness, and the plantain chips that came with our orders were thin and flavored well. Both of our entrees were well-made, and the portions were definitely very generous. I struggled to even finish half of the sandwich! To be fair, the heat and humidity had made me lose my appetite. While the place is nicely decorated to give customers a feel of Cuba in the 1950s, the seating area is pretty crowded. I had to weave in and out and around tables and people walking when going to the restroom and waiters passing by were walking right next to the table, so that I felt that I didn’t have quite enough elbow room.

The food and drinks were excellent. Our waiter was wonderful! We went on a Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. and there was over an hour wait… trust me, it was worth the wait! I had a mangojita and it was very sweet, but delicious and refreshing. I had the house special and my husband had the ropa vieja. The chicken and the shredded beef were flavorful and delicious, but honestly my favorite part of the meal was the rice and means. Oh my gosh they were delicious! It’s definitely a major tourist area and the prices reflect that. The portions were plentiful and we had a good experience.

Delicious! Looked this place up and I see why it has such high ratings. Their banana chips they give in the beginning are delicious. couldn’t actually tell they were bananas at first. Then I had the Vaca Frito de Pollo. The best. Their portions are huge I had to take some back. Instead of rice and beans I got moro and it was amazing. I recommend that. Our waiter was very kind. Great service, such a lively small street on Española Way!

Havana 1957 is located in the heart of Miami Beach, and is a popular destination for tourists. This is a random note, but I found it funny that throughout our trip in Miami, we barely saw any Asians. It looked like they were all gathered at Havana 1957! LOL For drinks, I ordered the mango mojito, and my bf ordered the kiwi mojito. They were both really fruity and yummy. It also came with a huge sugar cane, which you can suck the delicious sweetness out of. Other people ordered the bloody mary, peach sangria, and beer. These were also refreshing and good, but nothing especially different about them. Most of us opted for their most popular item, Havana 1957 Specialty, which is a roasted chicken in their Cuban gravy sauce with a side of rice, beans, and salad. I can see why this is so popular. It tastes so damn good! Their gravy is to die for. Price is a little bit on the high side($ 20) for chicken and rice, but I think it was worth every penny. The Cuban sandwich was also good. Their bread is really soft and yummy. The portion is HUGE. The sandwich came with a bed of little, crispy fries. We sat inside and the décor is SOCUTE. And they have super cool souvenirs you can purchase. Service was excellent. I am totally thinking about their gravy while I’m writing this review. I will definitely return to Havana 1957 when I’m in Miami again.

On my stopover in Miami, I only had time for one proper meal and Havana 1957 is where I chose. I sat at a cute table outside and people watched while waiting for my food. I wasn’t trying to get creative so I got the Especialidad de la Casa. It was half a chicken and I wish I had asked for all dark meat because the chicken breast tasted dry to me. But the portion was large enough that I was full after eating just the dark meat. I’m usually not a fan of beans but these black beans were super flavorful. I also thoroughly enjoyed the sweet plantains that were sitting on the rice. Along with my feast, I orderd a delightful Mojito Clasico. Solid food and great ambiance!

Havana 1957 was a decent meal. I was hoping the reviews were right and that I wouldn’t need to venture to somewhere more authentic and less touristy, but I’m not convinced after our meal. We started off with the tostones sampler, which were okay. Nothing special, and l wouldn’t order it again. For entrees, we ordered the Cubano sandwich and the roast chicken specialty. The chicken dish was the star of the meal. The gravy/sauce was so good that we asked for an extra side of it to continue drizzling onto the chicken. Rice, beans, and plantains were perfect. The Cubano was tasty with a good crisp, and was extra good when I drizzled some of that gravy/sauce into a few bites. However, I’ve had better of both these dishes. Additionally, our drinks weren’t good. My red sangria tasted like fruit punch. It was fun to do some people watching while we dined, but overall I think there are better options easily available in South Beach.

I looked into the recommendations on Unilocal and ordered at chicken special, it came with rice, beans, salad, and tender chicken. It was very tender and juicy. We also ordered the Cuban sandwich, i don’t remember the name(it was the second one in the list). It was kind of like a pastrami sandwich, with a crunchy delicious bread. Yummy. I recommend. But be weary, the place was packed on a Monday night dinner, and the service was ehh. Im really sad/upset they automatically charge a 18% gratuity when i hardly get any service worth that much. But the food makes up for it.

Touristy, but delicious food and good service at an awesome location. The table gets plantain chips — these were warm, crunchy, and salted nicely. Really loved these Cuban combo — I recommend this! A nice combo of lots of different elements of Cuban food. The croquetas were crispy and flavorful, the tamal had a beautiful corn flavor, and the Yuca was fried well, and it comes with a couple sauces. The plantain chips on this platter were totally unseasoned for some reason, though. Enchilado Camaron — shrimp were juicy and cooked well, the sauce was also very good. I also really liked how they cooked their rice. Perfect texture! Tres leches — yum. Super super sweet so avoid if that’s not your thing Loved the food here, even if it’s a tourist spot it’s worth a stop !

My boyfriend and I only ordered drinks so this is a review for the bar. Good beer and good café con leche! The atmosphere here is amazing, it felt like we were transported to a smoky bar in early 20th century Havana. They have a small section on the menu for souvenirs so we bought some Fidel toilet paper for $ 10 :p I’d definitely grab lunch or dinner here some time.

Definitely very touristy but I enjoyed i. I got the kiwi mojito which wasn’t super strong, but had a good flavor. I had the Ropa Vieja for my meal with rice and beans on the side. It was very tender and flavorful. I ended the meal with the epic Havana 57 drink. It was cuban coffee served with three different milks. It was so good, I finished it in about 5 minutes. I don’t know if this is an «authentic» Cuban place, but a good and convenient spot to get your Cuban fix.

The food and the people watching here are both excellent. Situated on a busy corner with outdoor seating, Havana 1957 is an excellent spot for watching the local nightlife and drunken tourists enjoying warm Florida evenings. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection, I’m not sure there’s anything on the menu not worth ordering. The only problem is you’d have to come back over and over and over to try everything! Reservations are a must, as we overheard others being told there was a 2 hour wait for groups of 4 – 6 people on a Friday evening.

Cuban food in a nice environment with reasonable prices. After looking at the overpriced tourist traps on Ocean Ave I was so relieved there was a restaurant on Espanola way that looked promising. We walked by here early in the night and made reservations for 9ish after seeing the crowd of people waiting for a table. Definitely make reservations before coming here. My boyfriend and I both ordered the especialidad de la casa which is the chicken special. I couldn’t be more happy with my decision. The half chicken is covered in their homemade gravy and is fall off the bone tender. I heard another waiter say that it is cooked for like 36 hours which I fully believe. Some of the best chicken I’ve ever had! We couldn’t get enough of that gravy so we asked for a side of it :) The chicken comes with a side salad, rice and beans, and some plantains. If you’re gonna order this and eat it all, I recommend skipping lunch or coming very very hungry.

I ate the best chicken dishes I’ve ever had in my life at Havana 1957. In my life! The vaca frita pollo: grilled shredded seasoned chicken topped with onions in Cuban mojo. Served with white rice and black beans, as well as sweet plantains. The absolute best thing I have ever eaten. The Pollo Frito a la Cubano: Crispy marinated half chicken with a delicious garlic and onion sauce. Served with moro rice and green plantains. Husband died and went to heaven. Fresh guava juice was also fantastic. Pechuga de Pollo a la Plancha: Boneless and skinless chicken breast grilled to order, garnished with chopped onions and parsley. Served with white rice and black beans. Fricase de Pollo: Chicken pieces marinated in citrus juice, garlic cloves, onions, and bell peppers. Cooked with delicious criolla sauce, raisins, and olives. Served with white rice and sweet plantains Guava cheesecake is served here! #dead

We wanted to try something new this evening… But a local that is Cubano said for us to go here! So rather than be rude… We came in here again! It is teaming with interesting people to watch. The food, and drinks are great. The music is nice, but I would be more pleased with live music!!! The first time we came which was our first meal in Miami, last Monday we had the traditional roast chicken combo… But tonight our waiter recommended we try the roast pork leg… While we waited for our table we downed a red sangria, and a Mojito… Both of which were fantastic!!! I’m going to miss Cuban food and culture when I leave this beautiful city!!! :(

So weit so gut.

Ansonsten viel Spaß in Miami Beach :)
