This club sucks, the bouncer is supper rude. You can’t even wear sexy boots when it’s raining in Miami & half the girls do. The drinks are expensive & at 12:30 the place is dead no line. I don’t recommend this club to anyone !!! No use for it useless club don’t waste your time

Very shady place! The promoter Dayan got our number and said come and he would make sure we got in. So we take a taxi and get there just for him to not even come out of the building and send a text that says its over crowded. Then the guy at the front of the place «security» is sitting here telling us how much of a asshole Dayan is and that no one should trust him! Like really? Then they let other people in while we were still standing there. Very shady

This review is for New Years Eve Dec. 31 2015 – 16! «Open bar» till 1am. $ 100 for guys and around $ 50 for girls.
The place was extremely over crowded until the «open bar» ended. The girls «bar tending» were very unprofessional, they were asking for tips (in a rude way, not playfully) before even serving the drinks and were purposely ignoring people trying to get their attention at the bar. It’s not like they were busy serving other customers, oh no! They were taking selfies, pouring drinks on each other, anything but paying attention to the customers. Their attitude was horrendous, even beyond the typical Miami nightlife rudeness. Also, the drinks were VERY weak, (but that’s pretty typical for open bars).
The one star is for the music (after midnight). It was good, current hip hop. Had us dancing till late!
The music before midnight was boring, generic, & outdated music, I guess meant to please the varied crowd that goes out on NYE.

Lame as fuck. $ 450 bottle service for a crappy bottle of liquor. DJ sucked. Guy at door was a total dork. And they have stolen Terry Rodgers paintings on the walls recreated without the artists consent. Bunch of losers.

Just another victim of the doorman’s rude behavior. I still can’t believe my two girlfriends and I were kept waiting for an hour at the door before we decided to leave. And no answer to what was going on.
Don’t waste your time at mokai. Miami is full of cool clubs with nicer staff. We went to both space and set the next night and got in without any hassle.

If I could give them a zero I would. Wow the most racist place in south beach. I’ve lived here and worked in Miami for four years and have sent a lot of ppl to the establishment and when I got to the door they were allowing everyone in for «bottle service» and everyone else in. The doorman was extremely rude and nonchalant. I’ve worked for some of the most famous people in the world and to be treated with such disrespect and rudeness it’s disgusting. Wow never go here and never will i recommend this place. Wow

I only gave it one star because it was minimum! Came here from DC to celebrate a friends birthday, wasted my time going here !!! Had my friend change shoes (ok fuck it) came back just to get left at the door by Mr «ERICK W. The GOOD PROMOTER» That u see on these comments is one of the assholes who works or «promotes» here (don’t even hit him up) I’ve been to many places before and never been so disrespected not only was he shallow and inattentive he also didn’t have the balls to come over at least once to say he couldn’t let us in (even after getting on his shitty guest list) he sent his minion over to say we had to purchase bottle service with a 2 bottle minimum. I would respect you a little more if u came over and said it yourself. Pussy. Do not go here if u are not an Instagram model or pulling up in a Porsche. You’re better off going where the rest of us «norms» go. I have no need to fit in with a bunch of stuck up fucks. Not even mad at the crowd just the service here speaks for itself. This place is horrible !!! My friend was denied entry due to not being a stick the promoter CHRISTOS is a complete ass do not use him as a promoter !!! Worst place ever do not go there !

Mr so called Max manning the enterance to this place is doing a great of pissing off and frustrating people trying to enjoy a night out. No line at this place you just get put on standby for the night when the place is not even packed.

Subsequent failure to gain entrance after 5 attempts forced me to write this review.
I received a Platinum Card from the Opium group in the mail. Attached to the card was a letter that tells me «free entrance to the clubs listed below.» one of them being Mokai. I tried using the card relentlessly and to no avail I was denied multiple times.
From my perspective, what can I say about this place?
First, the bouncers/​promoters in their JC Penny suits are pretentious. Good luck catching their attention if you have a penis. **Side note: Skip the trim if you plan on going here cause YOU AIN’T GETTING IN.
The velvet rope was made in China.
The red carpet was imported from Hialeah.
The projector was bought refurbished.
The trees are fake.
My take: I’d rather wait 2 hours in line at Disney because I know I’ll get in for sure.

I use to love this club. I went Saturday with friends that were visiting from up north. It has changed so much. The club was empty, it smells horrible like mold/​mildew. All the décor was gone. The ambiance was awful. I did enjoy the music. We left and didn’t even want to finish our drinks. I was pretty embarassed bringing my friends here– especially after being at LIV the night before.

It is unfortunate how many bad reviews this place get it really does not deserve them! Every time I go there I have a blast. You have to go on Mondays, and yes you may have to deal with waiting in line, especially if you are a guy. This is Miami! Even pretty girls have to wait once in a while! Fridays have been especially good lately its a mix of hip hop and house but mostly hip hop. The crowd is good, one of my favorite places if you don’t want the big generic club experience. Drink prices are expensive but no any more than any other club, and honestly prob a little bit less.
Monica is my absolute favorite bartender she always has something funny to say and is really really good at her job! I have seen her deal with 20 people at the same time and keep them all happy. Max is the head door guy, he always has a sarcastic smile but you can tell hes a good person, he is also very good at his job. Overall out of all the clubs in Miami (especially on a Monday) Mokai is the spot to be.

The worst club I have ever been too! Been clubbing all over the world but never seen a club where they would not let 2 single ladies enter without bottle service. Can’t help and say I felt subjected to racism coz they had no problem letting other ladies in. Never going back and highly recommend you don’t go either unless you want to waste your time. If you like sushi you will definitely like Sushi Siam. I notice out of all the places in South Beach they have cheaper signature drinks! Mojitos are way cheaper especially compared to Mangos!

I read the reviews on Unilocal and other places, and we were prepared for rude pickers and service. But it turned out to be the opposite! There were no problems getting in at all! And no attitude from pickers or bouncers. In fact, we thought the service throughout the night was quite good. It was the people trying to get in that was horrible. Trying to throw names around, acting bossy with the pickers, etc. Those are probably the people giving bad ratings.
My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough service at the bar. That evening was packed because EDX NOxcuses event was happening. My boyfriend had to wait for so long to get drinks. Another bartender did show up later, and it helped alleviate the problem. But the bar staff were still friendly and smiling even though people were complaining.
Drinks are expensive here, but you need to expect that at places like this. If you want cheap drinks, go to a sports bar or buy a 6 pack at the grocery store and drink it at home.
Mokai is better than the reviews, I think.

I’m reviewing the popup smashed flamingo beer & bourbon garden. It’s around during the winter season and it’s pretty cool! And CHEAP. Of course, it’s cheap because it’s nothing fancy. It’s down & dirty but I didn’t mind because I was kind of just hanging out and enjoying the weather anyway.
It’s right next to mokai. The food plates are HUGE, so don’t be misguided by «BBQ bites» haha and the beer is served in red solo cups. Basic

I would not bother with this club. My husband and I were very polished and clearly the best looking people in line. Door man let every punk in for free and then when he opened the rope for us he saw $ signs and wanted to charge us $ 30 per person. Short sited on his part because if we had decided to go in we would have dropped $$ on lots of drinks. But we refuse to pay $ 60 to walk through the door. We would have turned up the quality level a notch in there but I saw very young hoochies going in and thats not the typ
e of people we were interested in meeting. If that is your scene you might enjoy it, but we were looking for something a lot more swanky and trendy.
