I went to this restaurant with my friend Unilocaler Lena. The food was delicious. It was during Super Bowl weekend and we decided to go to this place because I don’t really like Taco Bell and I wanted to have some good Mexican food. We had fish tacos, chicken tacos, beef tacos, melted cheese with chips and tostadas which are sort of big chips with refried beans and other delicious things on top. The restaurant is small, we went early and it felt a little crowded. Overall it was a great experience, it was the best food for a Saturday pre-Super Bowl comfort meal.

Let’s start. Walk in, the playlist on the speaker is a catastrophe. They put pink, then mariachi, then alternative. Next, some unobtainable and nauseous scent filled the air. Lastly, I had the chicken tacos which made my girlfriend and I sick to our stomachs. Not stealing my money again.

Wow! I decided to try this place because I often drive by it. The quality and flavor of the food are amazing. Reasonable price, fast service. I strongly recommend the Faja carnitas tacos. They give you free chips and salsa. You can tell how the food will be when you get warm non-greasy, fresh made chips. If you are ever close by Coral way and 97th ave, you should give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

I’ve come here a couple times now, its really close to my house. I love a place that starts you off with a bowl of chips and really good homemade salsa when you sit down. If you don’t like spicy food let them know so they can leave hot sauce off your food. I normally don’t like too spicy but this is a good spicy. The margarita drink specials are sweet, too sweet for me. We always start with the Ropa vieja tostones(its a small portion but the flavor is there). We order mexican style tacos which comes with cilantro, onions and chile de arbol sauce(the hot stuff) on a corn tortilla with steak, chicken or ground beef. They satisfy the craving for a simple taco. The fish tacos are really good too! I’ve also tried the burrito, make sure you are hungry or plan on taking ½ home or share. The burrito is packed with fresh ingredients of your choice. I want to try enchilada with green sauce(a table near us ordered and it looked really good and we over heard table saying how good it tasted!) They have taco tuesday, where you can get a small version taco for $ 1.50 ea. They also have a daily lunch special we like that includes 2 tacos and a fountain drink for only$ 5 and i think they have a burrito lunch special also. My mouth burns a little and my nose gets a little drippy from the hot sauce but its all good. The place is clean, kinda small, nice décor and the waitress is always nice. She takes the time to explain the menu and the different options you have no matter how many times we come.

I am so happy that I decided to try this place out. Since the first time i went, I have been back three times. They have amazing Ropa Vieja tacos, I could talk about them for hours, and now writing about them is making me want to go back. I have also had the Baha tacos and they are great as well. Salsa and chips are served as you sit down. The salsa is great and chips are freshly made. I only wish they had a hotter salsa. The service is excellent and the restaurant is clean. The first time I went I was one of only a few customers and each time I have gone back it has gotten busier. I definitely recommend this hidden gem, they have some of the best tacos in Miami!!!

Overall: good food, pretty good price, good service, clean place We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and modern the inside of this restaurant was. It gave the feel of a modern bistro — very nice for the area! The woman who greeted us was pleasant and(lucky for us) spoke English very well. She immediately explained the menu and made recommendations. We ordered guacamole(comes with corn chips) — very good! Chips are warm and the food was very fresh. I had the Faja tacos with ground beef and my wife had the Baja tacos with ropa vieja — hers was the favorite but both were great and filling. We look forward to eating here again!

I was looking for some mexican food in my area and happened to stumble upon this place. They give complimentary chips and salsa. They also serve beer which is a plus lol. The food was fresh and it’s affordable. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I will, without a doubt eat at A Mari Mix again and again! I would have missed it if the GPS didn’t tell me where to turn. There are big flavors being served out of that little kitchen! Like any good Mexican restaurant they start you off with chips and salsa(mild). While eating the chips and looking over the menu we were distracted by their drink menu on the bar and decided to get a Rumchata. We were not disappointed and ended up ordering a second before the meal was over. We then got the carne toston as the apppetizer and it was excellent! I then ordered the Mari Burger and it was amazing! It had the right amount of kick and just bursting with flavor! Without question, on my top 10 list of best burgers! My wife ordered chicken and beef tacos. They were also really good but I was honestly too into my burger to care about sampling very much of her food. They service was great and the food is fantastic! I can’t wait to go back again for another Mari Burger and try their Ropa Vieja!!!

Authentic style Mexican food. Small but great food. They have Taco Tuesday’s have $ 1.50 a taco or $ 5 for two tacos and a drink. The burritos and quesadillas are great, good size. They have a great chocolate cortadito you gotta try.

Good Mexican food in Westchester. Located in a small strip on Coral Way. If you blink you will pass it. It’s that hidden away. Small mom and pop restaurant with several tables inside. They have a variety of Mexican sodas as well as fountain drink with free refills. You get complementary chips and salsa. The chips come out hot and the salsa is not that spicy. I have had the tostones with rope veija, queso fundido, the burger, tacos, and the ropa veija quesadilla. The tostones are crispy with a meat topping and the ropa veija quesadilla is my favorite. The rope veija is tender and well seasoned with cheese and peppers. The service is quick and the food is Delicious. Place is clean and well maintained.

I really, REALLY wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, I didn’t really care for it. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly amazing. I was happy with the size and feel of the place — small and cozy, yet comfortable. It was very clean and nicely decorated. When it came to the food though, it was just alright. I had a chicken and steak quesadilla which didn’t blow me away. They were just OK; I’ve had much better elsewhere. My boyfriend had quesadillas which also didn’t catch my attention. Chips and salsa were pretty good though. Our server, don’t remember her name, was very friendly and professional. However, the overall service was very, very slow, considering that there was only one other table besides ours. We had to wait a long time to catch her attention when needed. Also, Tupac/2pac music was playing. I just LOLed when I heard that.

This place, while small, feels spacious, and the staff is very friendly. I ordered the tostones rellenos con ropa vieja, and it was delicious, although it doesn’t quite have the presentation of a previous picture posted on Unilocal.Instead of a nice cup, the plantain was just an irregularly-shaped thick slice with toppings. Also, while I hate how some place overdo the cheese topping, here the cotija was barely a sprinkle. Nonetheless, it’s really delicious, especially when hot and fresh(the ones that survived the trip home don’t taste half as good.) The tacos have good flavors, though I was a little disappointed that the baja taco I ordered in beef was made with chicken. They are over $ 3 each, not cheap, but it is loaded, and fill me up a lot more than the average $ 2 tacos.

So let me start off by saying that I’m giving this place 2 stars because of the fact that they charge extra for everything. Other than that, the quality of food is good, tastes home made. $ 50 for three people, on TACOTUESDAY($ 1.50 tacos, we each got 3) just because I asked for cheese($ 1.50 extra) on my tacos and sour cream(.50 cents)? I never complain about prices and I know those two things aren’t «typical» to Mexican food but we aren’t in Mexico and everyone likes cheese on their tacos. I’m okay with avocado and guac being extra, that seems to be the norm nowadays. The salsa that was served with the chips was delicious, really fresh.

I’m usually overly critical of places that advertise as Mexican in the Unilocal system because they don’t adhere to a lot of traditional flavors, or don’t offer a certain set of things, or don’t taste like what I expect. Also, I sometimes make the mistake of ordering the chicken as my first option. Never judge a place by their chicken option unless it’s, like, the only option(in which case, yes, do exactly that). I went again! I wasn’t really swayed by any offer of a % discount(you’ll notice the owner really wanted me to try the place again). A bunch of friends had come by and had a radically different experience to mine, and really enjoyed the place — and these are people whose taste I trust. Did I come on a bad day, originally? This time I tried a bunch of stuff. I had one of the daily specials, the spicy beef soup — which they gladly served me a cup of instead of a full bowl, charging me an appropriate price(which was a great gesture). I had the tacos de carnitas. I had some queso fundido. My co-worker ordered a toston with ropa vieja on top and some of the same stuff I had. The sauces were killer. The flavors were really good. The guacamole was pretty fresh! I was really impressed this time around. I’d come here again in the future for lunch. I’m glad to see they worked out whatever kinks they had. Although, to be fair, maybe the kink was that I ordered the chicken.(Even the owner was like, yeah, we’ve been working on the chicken.) (Also, the horchata is bomb. Get some.)

So after being here three times and ordering take out twice. I thought it was time to review this perfect lunch option spot. I love Mexican food, corn, beans, cheese, avocado, sour cream, cilantro… those are all choices I can eat daily. This place does Mexican right. The ingredients are fresh and the seasoning hits the spot every time. I love the chicken salad, which is made up of string stripped pieces of well seasoned grilled chicken breast, with fresh greens, Pico de Gallo, Corn, Fresh Cilantro, Sour Cream, mmmm. I mean seriously you take taste the love put into this chicken salad. The portions are large and the price is right. Did I mention Jaritos, because they have a variety of the Mexican sodas which are amazeballs. Over all you should definitely give them a try, and you’ll see yourself become a regular like me.

Boy am I happy I found this little gem. I’ve had Mexican food at fancy restaurants, in Mexico, at hole in the walls, in LA, & this is on the same plane field if not better than all those places. Let’s start off by saying the chips are hot and fresh. The spicy sauce it comes with is exquisite. We also ordered the guacamole on the side and it was delicious as well. I had the fish tacos and they’re hands down the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. The only reason why I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because once I got home my stomach was upset all through the next day, a family member had my leftover fish tacos and her stomach was upset as well. I will come here again and update my post.

I love Unilocal for leading me to places I would probably never check out on my own. I had been meaning to drop by A-Mari for a few months but had yet to make the very short drive from home. That was until burger beast started posting a bunch of pictures of their food, I knew if he liked it, odds were I would too. So, off I went, dragging my boyfriend and parents along with me. It was pretty late on a saturday night(around 9:30) and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. The salsa that came out with the chips was good, albeit very salty, but I’m not dedicating a star this, as some one who likes to cook I understand sometimes you get a little carried away(I just hope its not as salty next time). Queso fundido was great, but could have been a little bit more hot and melty– still good though. However, the true redemption for these small flaws came with the tacos. Every taco i tried was delicious. They are not skimpy at all with the proteins, and I was honestly full after eating only two. Of course I had to save a little room for the Horchata, and it did not disappoint. Service was prompt and polite. We had a chance to chat with the owner and she was very sweet. I hope this place sticks around– great place for a quick and delicious taco fix. I will be back.
