Yep, stay away! Placed an order over a month ago. My email invoice confirmation indciated shipment would occur within 5 days. I have received none of the items ordered, no follow up, and can not reach the company. Called the number contained in the email again today, and reached a women who clearly either had nothing to do with the company or is dodging calls. Sent another follow up email, though assuming no reply will be received.

I agree with the other reviews. I ordered a painting from this website, and this was my experience:
– having never received the order, I contacted Alex, and was told that I needed to pay with PayPal as opposed to my credit card;
– I told him I did not have a PayPal account, and his website offers credit cards as an alternative;
– he then asked for the security code off the card, which I provided;
– still no painting, I contacted him again;
– he then indicated that he could not run the card, and that I had to go back on his site to reorder the painting;
– when I went back on the site to reorder, even though credit card purchases were offered, when you tried to utilize the same, it would not accept the information;
– I contacted Alex by email to inform him that his site was not functioning, and heard absolutely nothing in response.
Further, I have tried to contact Alex by phone on both of the numbers listed, but the numbers are not functioning.
I appreciate that Alex has taken the time to respond to the negative Unilocal reviews, and has defended his company. Unfortunately, he has not spent the same amount of time correcting the problems that are too consistently reported.

I have an update to my situation.
Right after I wrote my previous review, I received an email saying that my package would ship immediately. HA! I received it yesterday, and not only is it not at all the piece that I ordered, the dimensions are totally off and the features that I was looking for (cubby holes for storage) are non-​existent, and is instead a top loading device which is inappropriate for the space I had planned for it.
Instead of contacting me and indicating my desired piece of furniture was not available, this company strung me along and only acted once I left a nasty review. And then they had the audacity to send me something completely different than what I ordered instead of refunding my money.
This place gives a bad name to internet shopping and I hope no one ever purchases anything from Avant Garde Home Furnishings in the future. Buyer beware! Big time!
