This rating makes my heart cry, it’s in physical pain. I suspect it’s brought on by the hunger pangs that I’ve been suffering for weeks. Archie’s is closed. CLOSED. CLOSED. CLOSED. My go to Brickell-pizza delivery service, my favorite pizza place of the past 7 years(seven years I have been loyal!) has downsized. Their Coral Gables location also closed down. If you want some Brie and Apples pizza or maybe you want to try my personal favorite creation: Apples and caramelized onions(trust me), you’re going to have to pay the toll and head to their Key Biscayne location.

Dear Archie’s of Brickell, I am between 2 and 3 stars, and would probably give you 2.5 stars if I could; the extra .5 star being for delivering to the 12th Floor Pool deck of the condo where we were at… It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago, and I was poolside with my prima and my love in Brickell. Not even 2pm and having already had a couple of cocktails, we knew we needed to order lunch STAT. Asking her what was good and what would deliver in the area, she started naming restaurants. Wanting to keep it simple and stick to what I knew, I opted for Archie’s. We ordered 3 panini sandwiches(2 caprese with prosciutto, and a prosciutto & brie) and some mozzarella sticks, and returned to soaking up rays and drinking cold concoctions by the pool. What felt like 30 — 40 minutes later, the food arrived, all the way up to the 12th floor pool! I do have to say that was definitely a plus, but unfortunately we were rather disappointed by the food. We all savagely tore into our paninis, starving from the sun and drinks, only to find that they didn’t really look like paninis, but more like… I don’t even know… Calzone sandwiches? Instead of using focaccia bread, which is typical of paninis(and what the Archie’s in Key Biscayne uses), you decided to use what we concluded was pizza dough. So we had some kind of pizza dough sandwiches… Odd and not the best, but we ate them anyhow. The mozzarella sticks were kind of cold and hard when they arrived, and the marinara sauce was mediocre at best. Not a great experience when the highlight of the meal was the delivery service. Get it together Archie’s Brickell, and take some pointers from your sister at Key Biscayne, ASAP! Honestly, SabrinaAnna*

I tried their four cheese pizza and it was pretty decent. Btw, I think they own the burger joint next door called Brix46(which is now closed). But they had the best burgers ever. Anyway, I think Archies has them in their menu now. If they do, u must try them. They’re sooo good.

I concur with Maria A. I came here with a group of 7 and we sat at a nice communal table, that made sharing everything we sampled pretty easy. The service was very slow and they failed to notice that there weren’t enough, plates, silverware, napkins etc & no one ever came to check if we needed anything or if everything was OK. We just had to go grab stuff from other tables that weren’t being used… then, they brought some more plates. Also, they never refilled water or sodas and we were there for quite some time. The food I thought was average. I did like the bruschetta with brie and apples, although I thought the bread could have been a little crispier or thinner. The pizza was okay. They have relatively thin crust, but it gets soggy quickly. I love Greek salads, however I didn’t care for whatever brand of feta they use. It leaves a weird aftertaste in your mouth that I can’t figure out how to describe.

If you have an abundance of time on your hands, a craving for pretty good pizza, and don’t care about service, then you might like Archies. Otherwise, save yourself some time and head to one of the other pizzerias in the neighborhood. The indoor setting is casual and cute, dark enough to provide a slightly more intimate feel. We sampled salads, bruschetta, and pizza all of them were pretty good. Nothing blew me away but it was fine. Service was the real issue. They aren’t rude just absent. But insult was added to injury when they tacked an automatic charge of 18% gratuity to our bill. Not cool. I suggest take-out.

This is great little place in Brickell, especially on a nice day for lunch sitting on the patio. The pasta is good with good lunch specials around $ 9 – 12 and portions are good. The waitress was good on taking our order and bringing the food but never saw her again, maybe late lunches means slow service. Need to come back and try the pizza.

Um gourmet? I didn’t try the pizza but umm maybe that’s all that is considered«gourmet» here. I went with a coworker for lunch today(my first experience at Archies) and while they were busy, the service was just bad, like in general bad bad bad. Refills? what are those? Checking back to see if you need anything/food is ok? Why would anyone who wants a tip do that? Standing over me while I attempt to tip you on my credit card slip? Sounds like a GREAT idea. We split the spinach dip and the Quarto F. Gnocchi and… ummm not even meh. The best thing about the whole meal was the bread with a simple olive oil & balsamic dip. that’s not a good sign kids. The spinach dip was A HUGE portion for lunch and it was awful, the cheese on top was gross and if you scraped it off to get at the dip underneath you were still disappointed. The Gnocchi(one of my favorite pasta dishes) tasted like it had blue cheese in it as one of the 4 cheeses… which I find odd but even still thats fine but it was like OVERLOAD on the blue cheese(if that was in fact what it was that I was tasting. Either way I was not impressed and since the service was so far under sub par, I find it hard to even consider trying this place out again. But since I refuse to judge a place by only going once I will try it again… not soon though, like seriously? How does one make spinach dip taste soooo bad?

I went for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. I have eaten at this particular Archie’s a number of times, at least 10, and every time I’ve gone the service has been horrible. Today the service was decent. I’m not going to tell you that it was spectacular because it wasn’t but it was at least good. In the past there have been maybe two other tables and have waited literally 8 minutes(yes I timed it) before anyone brought us menus and don’t even get me started on the drinks or lack of refills. But as I said, today I was pleasantly surprised. The food is always good, a little over priced for ok pizza and ok salad, but you can’t go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu. But the price isn’t anything different than any other Brickell location. I have yet to be disappointed, but I’ve never been AWED. Last week I would have given Archie’s 2 stars, this week I give them 3. They are renovating or fixing lights or some kind of construction by the bar so at least for today there was only outside sitting available. I don’t know how long that will last.

Italian Restaurants are abundant, Archie’s is a safe shot for lunch and their happy hour is quite popular too. From what I’ve noticed their food quality is very steady crispy thin crusts, fresh crunchy veggies, & gooey cheese are expected. The interior has been renovated a bit with a combination of tall tables and a couple large booths. Very presentable and elegant, Archie’s is the best priced option for pizza & beer in Brickell.

I went there for lunch with two fellow Unilocalers yesterday and had a nice time. The food was delicious but there a still a few things to complain about. The location is ok. Mary Brickell has so many restaurant that there is clearly competition on the prices and restaurant layout. Archie’s has an outside space which was deserted because of the arctic weather that day. The inside is ok I guess. Not a big area, simply decorated and colorful, with a few booths that are actually a bit small(considering we were dressed for the coldest day of the year). I was disappointed by the cleanliness. There were used napkins on the floor under our table. The service was good and the food better! My smoked salmon pizza was excellent. Thin crust with cream cheese, salmon, capers and onion, slightly spicy just like I like it. Eddie had the chicken lasagna which seemed so difficult to eat as it was served in a bowl. Beatriz had the arugula, prosciutto, parmesan pizza which she seemed to enjoy as well. Prices were in the average. This is not a bad restaurant but they could improve a few things to get better.

Ok, this place is ok to go eat at, their food is not gourmet but it isn’t bad either and it’s not too expensive. The nice thing about it is if you go on a friday or saturday night you can hop over to their dancefloor(Sidebar) after desert. Their MAIN problem: NOAIRCIRCULATION! The music is amazing(mostly spanish) but it’s a sauna in there. So, if you plan on going wear shorts!

OMG! Finally a descent lunch spot! For six bucks I got a spinach Thai Chicken Salad and was able to eat it in the company of nice people in a trendy spot! Wow! Don’t get me wrong, Brickell has some wonderful places to dine, but for $ 6.00! Maybe I shouldn’t tell anyone… shhhhh. Anyways, kudos to Archies for being on my top 8!

Took some friends here and it was o.k. The server was very talkative and had good personality. He just was not very good at keeping our drinks full. Table had some pizza and a couple different pasta dishes and one calzone. Food– average Service– could be better Not a bad restaurant, but I would come back if I just wanted average food and a good time with some friends.

I had some difficulty deciding whether this place deserved 2 or 3 overall stars for my most recent visit. IMO, their pizzas and food deserves at least 4 stars, but as others have mentioned here and as I’ve heard from others outside of Unilocal, the service and the wait staff are crap and that part gets 1 star. FOOD: Upon your arrival you get a basket of soft breads and a small plate drizzled with balsamic vinegar and oil for dipping which is a nice start, especially when you’re hungry. There were 4 of us eating on this Friday evening; For a starter we ordered the spinach dip, and for the main course we ordered 1 Hawaiian pizza and 1 vegetable pizza to share. The food, as always, was very good. My only comment there was that they only have 4 kinds of beers on tap(Bud, Bud Light, Stella and Peroni) which is a bit lacking for a pizza joint IMO. SERVICE: The service was a different story altogether. On the Friday we came here it had been raining all day and afternoon, so I think there were only 2 or possibly 3 tables of people in the place and fewer customers than wait staff. Still, it took forever to get anything and on a few occasions we had to ask for things more than once. Two of us arrived earlier than the rest of our group, so we sat at the bar and had a beer while we waited. Once one of the others joined us and we moved to a table it took forever to get a menu, the person who arrived late waited more than 5 minutes before he could order a beverage, it took a while to get the basket of bread and the guy only poured oil onto our dipping plate and left, we had to finally get up ourselves and get our own vinegar. Twice during the meal we ordered refills of our beers but were forgotten about completely, and as JoseLuis commented in his review, some of the employees were just sitting at the bar in a group while the patrons were receiving really poor service. I was surprised with how bad the service was, especially considering there were so few people here that night. If this place hadn’t already added a 15% gratuity onto our bill automatically(supposedly as a «convenience» to their customers), we would have left very little in the way of a tip. One of the ladies who was with us on this night comes to this restaurant occasionally, and she also agreed that service was lacking here on a consistent basis. Sad, as their pizzas and the other food we ordered really was excellent, it’s a shame the service isn’t on par with the quality of their food.

i went to archies in brickell for the first time last night. the place was very crowded as it was dinner time after the corporate run… so im sure this had a lot to do with the effectiveness of their service. the thing that threw me off was the empty podium by the entrance. my friend and i just walked in and saw the hostess sitting by the bar which i thought was very weird but then i noticed she was eating something so two things. either she was on her break and in that case, of course it is more about management than her or maybe she was just chillin? confusing nevertheless but we sat by one of those little booths and got a couple of peronis. i wasnt really all that hungry, my friend F was so she ordered a pepperoni pizza. we got our bread a couple of minutes later. they have this spiced olive oil on every table. goes pretty good with the bread… i dont know how long it took for our pizza to come out cause i was pretty entertained watching the nba playoffs(chi-bos) but i could not resist to have a slice or two when it came out. very good thin crust. good amounts of cheese and pepperoni. not that greasy… personally i would have gotten other toppings but like i said, i was not hungry so it was all about F the game went to 3OT’s so i had to get another round of peronis. in the end our bill was about 35 $ including tax and tip. each peroni was 4 $ not bad but not excellent either. its good to have a pizzeria in the area. the village of mary brickell is very nice at night and easy to get there on the metromover. i like the archies in coral gables better but ive visited that location a lot more. i miss the cute waitresses :-P

This place is a lunchtime staple for the Brickell area. The food is not necessarily outstanding for the most part, but it is consistently good. Pizza is the go to choice here(obviously), with my favorite being the Ai Funghi Pizza(mozzarella cheese, assorted mushrooms and ham). The Greek Salad is also consistently decent(romaine lettuce with feta cheese, kalamata olives, cucumber, fresh tomato, yellow onions and house greek dressing). And so I generally stick with a close variation of one of those. But this time I ventured away from the familiar and wanted to try something substantial and hearty. I decided to go for the Archie’s Lasagna(with chicken, bolognese, ricotta, spinach, mozzarella & parmesan cheese), which was a wise decision. It was cheesy, tomatoey goodness and a portion large enough to have leftovers to take home with me. Up until now I’d felt this was a fairly decent lunch place for an average meal. But after my lasagna experiment/experience today, I just might have to give Archie’s further consideration… and another attempt at something different next time!

This location recently underwent a renovation that required it to be shut down for a week. Perhaps faced with the nearby competition of the new cafes at Mary Brickell Village, Archies seems like it is trying to amp up its liquor sales. For starters, the«Side Bar» is now a more pronounced partition with the bar operating more consistently. Though it is labeled«Side Bar,» there is now a kiddie section with toys. The old bar remains the same in the larger part of the restaurant, but there is now an indoor lounge section where booths used to be. The kitchen is now blocked by a wall. Unfortunately, this location still suffers from mediocre to bad service. While the waitstaff is always friendly, the amount of time they take to serve food and drinks tests my patience. I like the food so I just prefer to place the order and pick up to eat at home.

Archie’s Gourmet Pizza Brickell is one of their new locations in South Florida. I ordered their Archies Pizza with a thick crust with pepperoni and ham. It was a bit saucy… so if I go their again I’ll try their thin crust pizza or pasta. They have an indoor family restaurant, outdoor seating with a nice couch on the sidewalk and a bar in a separate building. For parking, their is a public garage across the street on SW10th Street and metered parking on the street. There are several new restaurants in the Brickell area so if you arrive for dinner during peak hours, the garage may be your only choice.
