Baptist Health Urgent Care Center

I recently visited this location on Jan. 15, I was greeted by a representative to fill out a form as regular procedure. Once I completed the form I waited and waited and waited. While I was waiting the representative was bombarded with questions from what seemed like every patient in the waiting area. (I must say, the representative was so calm and professional, I don’t know how she did it, I regret not knowing her name) but it seemed as if she was a full-​time auctioneer the way she handled all those patients. I was blown away by her professionalism. I dont know how any patient can feel they have a personal experience at this location with the way they process people.
While waiting, some employees came walking out from the back of the building and one of them seemed to be a supervisor or an Overseer, she didn’t acknowledged anyone in the lobby and when she was asked a question she diverted it the poor auctioneer girl in the lobby. She was also dressed very provocative, something that someone who works for a hospital shouldn’t be wearing. I believe her name was Rosa or Raisa. She seemed to be a very prude or rude employee.
I ended up waiting about 3 hours before being discharged. Even paying my co-​pay was difficult as one of the computers were not working. I also over heard an associate complain about the printer (lol). Anyways, I was told I have to go with another employee to make a payment. By this time I was already annoyed about the ridiculously long wait time, I ended up not paying and asked to be billed.
For anyone looking to visit this center, I would recommend STAY FAR AWAY”. Everything seemed so unorganized! And broken!!! You would think with the money they make, they would invest in technology that actually works!
Except for the octopus/​auctioneer girl in the lobby, she was awesome. Lol!

Showed up at 830pm with my daughter who eventually was diagnosed with the flu. Very quick service. The gentlemen in the front was cereus and was able to answer and take care of any initial questions I had. The nurse she had was great also, she made sure my daughter understood what was going on and what testing she would be going through. The doctor was in an out in less than 5 minutes with diagnosis but fully explained everything. I was out of there in 2 hours which I feel is quicker than an ER.
I have been here before and the service has always been up to par. No complaints so far.

I went in on the evening of 3÷24÷2016 because I thought I had Chicken pox. I explained that my husband had had shingles a few weeks ago and I had never had chicken pox. Both the nurse and the doctor were dismissive of what I said. The doctor even cut me off while I was trying to explain why I thought I had chicken pox (husbands shingles, fever, body aches and pains. .) Didn’t even ask to see any bumps/​rash I had, which were very few at the time. Long story short, I was sent home with a diagnosis of «Acute viral syndrome» pretty much just fever and they wanted to give me antibiotics, which I said no to. Next day, I woke up covered with the rash of chicken pox. I went somewhere else to get antiviral and mouth wash, incase I got any in my mouth. No harm done. They were not going to stop the chicken pox for me, but the point is they were careless, negligent, and unprofessional. I also waisted $ 70.00, which was the copayment. They should also sit down when the patient is sitting down for the consultation. There was only one chair in the room. Both nurse and doctor were talking down to me, which was a bit unnerving. I do not recommend Baptist Medical Plaza at West Kendall Urgent Care at all.

My kid scratched her eyeball with a toy a few weeks ago. Once I noticed that the screaming wasn’t stopping or slowing down I realized I had to get her checked out as soon as possible. Her pediatricians office was closed for lunch, the Miami Children’s Urgent Care center by London Square doesn’t open until 4pm (how useless is that?!), so I raced over to this Baptist Health Urgent Care Center.
The staff here was so incredibly friendly and attentive. The girl at the front brought my daughter a small coloring book and crayons while I filled out a form and gave my insurance information. Within five minutes we were taken inside and it wasn’t another five minutes before we were seen by the doctor.
These Urgent Care locations are so much better for small emergencies than going to an ER. Hopefully I’ll never need to go back, but it’s reassuring to know that such prompt care is available close to home.

I wish there was a zero star button. I went to Baptist for blood vessel pain in my leg I thought was a clot and went just to make sure. FIrst there was a long wait but it was a friday night so I’ll give it a pass. Then after I finally saw a doctor and he saw there was no clot, he was not satisfied with letting me go home, he ordered a head ct an MRI and admitted me in the hospital. When I tried to leave because I saw he was just doing this to get more money out of me and my insurance, he gave me a veiled threat that if I left without his medical go ahead the insurance wouldn’t cover anything (WHICH WAS A LIE). How dare a doctor threaten me to keep me at this hospital. Now I have an insane medical bill and wasted an entire weekend when NOTHING WAS WRONG. ALSO all the doctors I saw there charge separate bills instead of a unified bill from Baptist so I have to pay even more in the long run. Baptist doesn’t care about patients, they care about how much money they can drain out of you. Avoid at all costs.

Very convenient. Better then sitting in the ER for 5 hours waiting to be seen. They are all courteous and experienced. Bring a coat though. It’s cold in there.

Great experience! In and out in an hour, super friendly staff, everyone spoke English! Empty and clean lobby why bother having a primary physician? This place rocks!

Don’t go there if you have the option of going to a CVS minute clinic or whatever… I hate this whole baptist factory… Been there a couple of times and last time I had to take a urgent tetanus shot I did EVERYTHING so I wouldn’t have to go there and went to CVS minute clinic instead and it was like going to my doctor… Everything went smooth and wait time was ridiculously short (if any). Wait time at baptist urgent care is basically the same at baptist ER, don’t be fooled…

My fiancé & I went there to get a tetanus shot after he lost a fight with a rusty nail lol. The wait was a little longer than expected considering there weren’t many people there. However, the doctor was in and out and the nurse came in quickly after that to administer the vaccine. Overall, I’d say we had a great experience.

Treatment is consistent and professional. Been here on multiple occasions and is always a positive experience. I do insist on paying my copay upfront because on more than one occasion had conflicting billing information mailed and is a hassle to correct. Private parking, big waiting area, McDonald’s nearby if the wait is too long, although usually not,

I feel compelled to give this place a 5 star rating, why… well because it’s an urgent care clinic. God forbid something happens to us and this is the closest thing to us hey you’re not going to care if they’re kind to you or not you just need to be taken care of. But that being said I came in here today (no no don’t cry all) lol jk, I had nasal congestion for the last 3 months and ended up finding out that I have rhinosinussitis or something like that. The people at the front desk were pretty friendly, the girls kept yacking away about there boyfriends of course making us (men) look like the monsters… the wait wasn’t that long of course since it was only a couple of people. Once inside the lady at the triage was pretty cool and got to see the doctor right away and he was cool and took care of me.

I always choose Urgent Care vs. going to a traditional emergency room since their goal is to get you in, out and on with your life. I am a migraine sufferer and when my rx’s don’t work their magic I turn myself into the hands of the lovely people at this little place. The wait is usually minimal but if you do have to wait long the waiting room is large enough to stay the hell away from infectious beings generously sharing their contagious droplets with the rest of the world. They also have masks up front to protect yourself and others from your funk.
I have been seen by many of their MD’s and don’t have anything negative to say about any of them. The nurses are attentive and know their stuff, everyone from the person at the registration desk to the security guard up front are caring & professional, even when the migraine is on full blast and I’m not at my sweetest.

I had been coughing for a week and had a cold. Started having trouble breathing and thought it a good idea to see a doctor, but because it was Friday evening, the only option I had was an urgent care center. As soon as Dr. Ana Orozco walked into the room, she was rude and confrontational. She completely mistreated me and barely even checked me out. I had never seen such unprofessional behavior from a supposed doctor. And I still don’t know why she treated me that way.

On January 1 my husband fell extremely ill and unfortunately we ended up here on New Years day. The fortunate part was that he was taken in quickly and was treated extremely well by all the staff there. We were in and out of there within 3 hours time. can’t beat that.

They took care of me back when I had the crazy H1N1. To think that I drove there when I was feeling so weak, that my arms felt like 100 pounds to turn the wheel and the sunshine had me sort of blind while driving. My sensitivity to light was intense. Can’t believe that I actually left there feeling 50% better. Will go back if something bad shall happen again.

What the heck is it about needles that sometimes they feel like they go directly to the soul especially, the smaller ones. The very thought of that tiny pin-​like prick gives me a bad case of phantom pains and bone chilling shivers.
Most of us are so busy running around that we seldom slow down even when our bodies tell us we’re sick. We buy over-​the-​counter meds and self-​prescribe soup and sleep. Luckily, that’s usually enough. But every once in a while it’s not and that’s when we’re forced into a more urgent situation, or in my case, urgent care.
After a few days of feeling worse and worse I finally gave in and did the unusual I went to see a doctor but given my unorthodox hours I decided to check in to a Baptist Urgent Care center.
I“d been here before as a patient and a care taker. They’re always thorough and pleasant. The wait is short.
Even better though? I was out quickly with three prescriptions and a doctor’s note telling me I couldn’t work the next day. When he gave it to me I smiled and thought of school days. I thanked him and told him it wasn’t the right week for a day off but I appreciated the note just the same.

Our call in Doctor suggested we come to the Urgent Care Center, because they would take care of us quicker than the ER.
We arrived around 8:30pm, several people in the lobby waiting area. As we signed up quickly and filled out all the information 15 minutes later we were called to go in. The receptionist and nurses were very nice. The first nurse will take all the pertinent information about your case and you will be escorted by a nurse #2 that will be in charge of you.
It’s a big room, like an Emergency Room, but with several little divided rooms with curtains for privacy. We waited for 10 – 15 minutes for the Dr. to arrive and once he was there he prescribed some medicine. Nurse #2 was always checking up on us if we were ok, if we needed something and always with a smile. We loved our nurse #2, she was sooo nice, I wish all health care professionals were like that!
During our stay till 11:30pm the Dr. had visited us several times to follow up, if the medicine had worked well, how did the patient feel, did the nurse had made several tests that he ordered, etc.
I can say that the service was excellent at the Care Center, it was quick, service was great, and great follow up. Event though the center closes at 11pm, if you are in there already they will keep you till you feel better — otherwise you will be escorted to the nearest hospital.
According to health insurance companies the Care Centers will not charge you as much as the Emergency Rooms in the Hospitals. Soon to be discovered when we get the bill!!! Till now, happy campers and left the building feeling much BETTER!
