Dr Schell delivered our Daughter and was amazing. My wifes experience with her could not have been better. The office staff was always helpful and Hayley in ultrasound is the best. Thanks for everything Dr Schell !!

The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because of the amazing treatment received from Dr. Schell. Before I get to the ugly, let’s make sure we give Dr. Schell a proper review.
We went in for our first OB appointment on Tuesday and fell in love with Dr. Schell; she was personable, attentive, realistic and very down to earth. In short, if she had her own practice, I’d run to her asap!
Now for the horrible HORRIBLE billing practices in this office. Ignorance is bliss; I wish I didn’t know as much as I did about insurance bc if that were the case, I’d probably still be there handing them my hard earned money. Needless to say, I pay a lot of money to have a solid and comprehensive medical plan that gives me the most benefits at the time of service. Being how that is, my maternity expenses are $ 0.00 as the insurance covers everything from the moment pregnancy is confirmed (labs, ultrasounds, office visit fees, certain prenatals, etc.)Please note, pregnancy is confirmed via a urinalysis and HCG hormone blood test and often times at other practices, a transvaginal ultrasound.
When you first walk into the office, they give you a stack of forms explaining the office fees that are «typically not covered by insurance»; they advise you that in the event your child is a boy, the doctors will perform a circumcision at your request for a deposit of $ 450. It’s a blanket fee due to the alleged issues they’ve had previously where insurances don’t pay out as they should; understandable, unless you know how your policy works. Where BCBS Fed Basic is concerned, circumcision is a covered benefit for newborns and you’re responsible for a $ 150 copay if the procedure is done in house or $ 200 if it’s done at the hospital. Being so early on, I decided to wait and see if it was a battle even worth fighting. The insurance rep there tells you that in the event your insurance does pay, they reimburse you the difference. Not the case if your insurance doesn’t allow them to charge $ 450; being participating providers means they ARE REQUIRED to charge based on their allowable fees not blanket amounts chosen at their convenience. It gets better though; The second «office fee» is the real kicker; they sell it as a «convenience one time $ 40 fee». Basically, if you want to avoid the «hassle» of going to a lab directly and having blood drawn there, they offer to have it done in the office for a small fee of $ 40. When you ask for clarification, the owner walks out and tells you to think about the fee as checked bags for American Airlines; you can have your free carry on but if you want more you have to pay. There are a myriad of reasons why this analogy is completely ridiculous but I’ll leave that to you.
Nevertheless, I paid the $ 40 and had my blood drawn. For the last few nights I’ve been suffering from shortness of breath; apparently a common thing in pregnancy. No less, I called to see if the Dr. could see me just to make sure it wasn’t the sign of something worse. No problem, the girl gave me the appointment and I went. The first thing she says when I arrive; «you need to pay your $ 35 office visit fee». I then began to cringe; remember that tidbit about my insurance covering everything the second it was confirmed I was pregnant? So the office manager comes and says this «you do have a $ 35 office visit fee bc we haven’t confirmed your pregnancy yet as that’ll happen in 2 weeks»… I’ll hold while you ponder about that very erroneous statement. I kindly advised her of the aforementioned and her response; «that’s not the way we bill». Congratulations, it’s been proven yet again that medical providers have completely incompetent people billing insurances and thus, the constant hikes in our premiums.
At the sight of all of this l, I decided to give my insurance a call. Not only did they confirm that I shouldn’t be paying a dime for labs or office visit copays but they went the extra mile and tried calling the office manager; surprise surprise she was gone by the time they called.
My fiancée and I are so disappointed and feel completely disgusted at the incredible amount of incompetence in the staff. We were really excited to have Dr. Schell as our OB for our first born but today was strike three and they are out.
I’d recommend this practice to people that don’t care to keep a close eye on their insurance coverage or those that like to give their money away without having to.

Incredible Experience, Wonderful Staff!
Loved this clinic! I’ve recently moved in Miami and had been searching for ob/​gyn for a while with no luck. However, my insurance (United health care) & Unilocal helped me to search Dr. Jennifer schell. She is one of my favourite doctors now. Although it was my first visit in the office, everybody made me felt so comfortable and easy.
They make you feel welcome. Best ob/​gyn clinic where you receive the quality treatment all the way. Dr. Jennifer Schell is the best doctor I’ve ever seen and the staff is outstanding as well.
I would recommend this place who ever is looking for the best and quality treatment.:)

Dr. Schell has been one of my favorite friends for some time now. So, my first reaction to going to a friend for this type of appointment was «Nope, nope, and NOPE.» Other friends and family agreed with me that going to a close friend for an OB/​GYN appointment would pretty much be THE WORST. However, after getting over the awkwardness, I visited the office yesterday, and I have to say this visit was one of the best exams I have ever had. Dr. Schell is professional, nice, funny, and a pretty fantastic communicator. She walks you through each part of the examination, ensures adequate patient history descriptions for your electronic medical record, and makes you entirely comfortable during the process. The office staff is extremely nice and helpful, and the office itself is beautiful. I could not recommend going to her enough. Actually, I always recommended going to Dr. Schell before (as a friend), but now I am doing so with a bit more enthusiasm given my experience as her patient.

As someone who worked in healthcare, I realize the importance of being proactive about your health. But I have to be honest, going to see an OBGYN makes me very uncomfortable. For that same reason, I have been dragging my feet since moving back to Miami to search for a provider and scheduling my annual exam. But Dr. Schell is exactly as the other reviewers described here on Unilocal. She is personal and has great sense of humor. She thoroughly addressed my concerns. Parking lot can get quite busy and difficult to park. Other than that, the office is clean and wait is short.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place! Dr. Schell is the by far the most down to earth, professional and caring doctor I have been to in Miami. She made my annual visit extremely comfortable, yet was very knowledgeable at the same time. The rest of the office staff is also very friendly and the office is located in a great area in Pinecrest. It is safe to say Dr. Schell is my doctor for life. Highly recommend! ;)

Great office! I was treated with kindness from the moment I walked in. Dr. Schell is extremely thorough and kind. She put me at ease and made me feel very comfortable. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Glick, he too is very kind and thorough.

I went to see Dr. Schell to get an IUD replaced and had an incredibly positive experience. Dr. Schell was able to see me on short notice (and during the holiday season) as I am living abroad and was only back in the US for a few weeks and was also able to order an out of stock IUD for me in that short window. When I arrived, Dr. Schell was incredibly welcoming — hilarious but also extremely professional at the same time, which made a huge difference while having a sometimes pretty uncomfortable procedure. Hers was the least painful I’ve had– both during the procedure and afterwards (all discomfort was gone within an hour). I could not recommend Dr. Schell more highly! I will definitely be going back to her in the future.
One note– I believe the map in Unilocal of where the office is is incorrect (there are a couple of streets with very similar names). Go to their website or call the office for an accurate address and better directions. Once I had the right address it was very easy to find.

I love Dr. Schell, always very professional. I went to her with a problem that another MD could not solve and she right away put me in the correct medcation solution for my condition. She is always very attentive and provides me with the best options for my particular case.

I LOVE THIS OFFICE. I have been coming to Dr. Glick for over 3 years and every time I come He always makes me feel comfortable and always answers any questions I may need. staff is very friendly and have never had a problem. I am always welcomed with warm smiles.

Loved this office! I was a few minutes late to my appointment and the check-​in staff was so nice about it. I only waited maybe 5 minutes before being taken in for the appointment. After getting into the exam room, it was just a few minutes before Dr. Schell came in. Dr. Shell was very thorough in her examination answering all my questions and calming my fears. The checkout process was a breeze as well. Everyone I came into contact with was cheery and polite. I love feeling like a valued patient and not a burden.
